Well ppl have been hanging out for this game for god knows how long, 5 yrs actually. So now it is here, it's good to see that the scores are a match for the hype.
Although I'm definitely not an RTS fan, and I'll onlyget this game simply to complete my Halo collection, it does look great and has a unique approach.
Although - - - and I say this with all honesty, I'm holding off my real thoughts of it being the best RTS on a console until Stormrise lands on our shelvs i...
Hey Flair, great game, I've been playing it for a few hours now, just got my retail copy today, and it's 10 times better than the demo code we had.
Sure, the visuals are not GT5, they are not meant to be, it's a SIm, and anyone that knows about sims (real ones) the art is not in the art, but in the art of driving . . now work that one out and you win a $10 gift voucher at Barns & Nobles . .not that it will buy you much these days . . heheh
And many others who seem to think game MAGs are more reliable than latest up to the minute game site.
News Flash.
All those reviews were based on early BETA Debug 360 code. I know, we had 2 versions of the code sent to us (1 in nov and one early jan) but were asked NOT to publish REVIEWS based on them as they were of course de-bug 360 beta code only. But we could post "PREVIEWS" based on it and allowing for it to be Pre-release code and that is would have c...
Great to see someone that appreciates a racing game and is able to tell the differences between them.
The Chev racing team use the Forza 2 steering geometry simulations to help them work out track set ups, so I suppose that is a decent enough compliment and acknowledgement in its self really.
Again, NOT taking anything away from GT5, even though it is still not released in full. So GT5 fans, calm down.
SImBin know what they are doing, they have spent the...
The author is actually from one of the bigger racing sim game sites on the net and part of the HEXUS group (racedepartment.com). The site only racers sims, not arcade games at all, and holds global tournaments on various classes from mini up.
So I value his opinions quite highly, and that of his peers. Which is why we got him to do the review in the first place, rather than an arcade racer Trying to do a racing sim justice. It just wouldn't happen.
And yes, I agree, ...
Why, it's by a company that has been making REAL simulations for several years, probably longer than you've been alive (jk btw) . .SO I think if ANYONE would know how to make a racing sim, it would be a AAA grade PC sim developer ..wouldn't you?!
I really LOVE Grid . .heaps, stillplay it and enjoy therush . .And, if played sensibly, and within some rules, it can be a bloody challengiing game. Like not hitting others out of the way, using the line and working your way through the pack etc.
But that is not going to stop me playing Race Pro, simply for the Different experience it offers.
God, if you eat chips all your life, you'd miss out on all the other great tastes in life . . It's called Variety, which is t...
Why, scared of the challenge to obey the race rules (yes, you'll get flagged and penalized) . . and the even matching of engines etc . . .
That IS what racing is about. Not how BIG you engines horsepower is.
Reserve that style of thing for seeing who can pee higher on schoolyard walls . . because that's about all its worth.
Come down and be part of the game, not a critical spectator . . . (to all those that bag a game based on NO EXPERIENCE with the gam...
WHy not support the developers trying to give YOU bloody games . . Forza 3 will not be out until the last qtr this year . . . that's a damn long time to wait in between watering holes.
If you're a serious racing fan, you'll get this, if you're an arcade nutter, then by all means give it a miss. But don't diss a game simply because you have yet to play it.
Irrespective of the platform. I'm a real Forza fan, love the game, have over 200 cars painted and am all but 2 it...
You have to be kidding - right!
You DO realize that the two games are completely different - don't you ????? Serious Q? !
This is a serious Sim not a Grand Touring would be everything if it could be. Nothing wrong with GT5 (well, we haven't seen the final product and won't until late this year )
A RACING Sim is just that. It doesn't have Ice racing, Hill climbs, drag racing 1000 plus cars.
It's aim is to simulate circuit racing in licensed ...
Most of the other reviews done earlier were also done on Debug beta ciode . . not something any game should be properly reviewed on - ever. This is final Gold code . . not beta release etc.
The embargo on "proper" online reviews was only lifted recently for "proper code" as the earlier code was for "Previews" - not reviews.
But many sites use beta debug code to do reviews, which is just not on.
I've been hanging for this game since it was first announced 3 years ago . . . Now all I have to do is split in two so I can finish Gris and now this, while playing the last 32% or Far Cry 2 and . .. ohh hell . .who am I kidding . . .
ANyone with the slightest bit of artist talent is welcomed in this. And the prizes are well worth it, especially given that you'll also receive commission on the art if you win . . . .
ANd whatever some may think about Blogs, you need to reassess your thoughts around them. They are no longer a simple online diary, a huge % of gaming sites run as Blogs, including some of the major sites listed on N4g daily.
Bit like your head wear then .. heheheh.
But doing this is seriously funny if you pick ppl that are easily recognizable when imposed on the characters .. Go nuts and have some serious fun.
And yes, it beats the hell out of complaining about Gears 2 or Killzone 2 etc.
I don't know, I think there's some "big boys" in amongst that lot . . .Or you could be daring and put Marcus's face on Lui . . .??
Please explain . . Random ??? not the word but the comment . .
Well you new know - now do you????????
That was HEAPS of fun . .and if you want to check it out and make your own, just follow the details on the site . .
But what IS too short these days . . .really . .?
Most gamers, especially the "new-gamer" (those who've come into gaming on this generation and since 2005/6 or later 2007-9) don't even give a game any reasonable amount of time in the first place. So if a developer creates a main game with 50 hours, it will NEVER be played through, and a huge portion of its development $$ will have gone down the toilet.
Same goes with DLC . . . Sure, there ARE those who will...
No, the maps are available FREE with the Limited Edition, but available for 800 microsoft points via Xbox Marketplace after release of Halo Wars.
So everyone has access to them, those that pay the extra for the LE get the maps, those that pay less and then buy the maps off XBL end up paying the same . .
No one loses in the end.
