GAmes need to be looked at on their own merits, if they have them, not running the game up against another 'style' of game which it is not meant to be in competition with anyhow.
I admire reviewers who simply play the game - for the game . . .Sure, games will not be the 'same' as others . . that's a given . . if you took a game on the entertainment it gives you, the simple enjoyment or not as the case maybe . . then that is how reviews should be delivered.
Why oh why t=do they try and resurrect these sorts of games when they really belong on a board or in a real world interactive. .
Bloody good question actually. I had black just before they released the 360 . got the 360 loaded up COD2 expecting great things, and the environmental dame and detail was heaps better in Black than it was in COD2 or 3 for that matter.
Draw distance was amazing, nopop in, excellent frame rate, and if you could see it, you could shoot it and damage it, every window and window frame walls, doors . .DOn't go hiding behind a door Mr AI, I'll shoot you - bamm dead. . .

It"s funny how a solid looking non biases game, that will be drawing a great deal of attention and also in a sub-genre that requires practise and persistance, not to mention that four lettered word "Team"-work is barely looked at.
Yet mention that i may go to Xbox 360 as an exclusive, or Sony as an exclusive, and watch the sparks fly.
It's one of the things I dislike an=bout n4g, the fact that decent news and game information, the basis of what N4G (...
this game will be on scale with the likes of Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising, which is also basically a war simulation gameplay where tactics and not run-n-gun play a BIG role.
Plus we get another excellent game engine for use in other games . . ppl seem to forget that as each developer makes new tools for future games
I like the look of the playrooms actually. Call me silly and paint me with a big red brush . . but it looks cool.
ookkkaaaayy not going there then . . . .
The linage of the Assassin is very long and deeply guarded by many over the centuries. And understanding the lengths Ubisoft have already done with the first iteration, you can be sure this will not be a simple swim around Venice. Gamers that think in one dimension need to open their eyes and and be open to the possibility that games can be more than run-n-gun slaughterhouse feasts.
We can expect a deeper story line this time which will lead into the following game, and eventuall...
Doesn't seem so, it's in a great deal of info on the game, and even on the current official website, see link in the article.
This is very similar to the Far Cry 2 viral campaign that a huge number of ppl thought was real. This campaign has been going for a little while now but is gaining momentium now . should be great
Yes, and those 'arguments' would not be over the game per-se, they would be over which PLATFORM it should be on, or how good it will look on such-n-such a platform etc etc. Nothing would be mentioned about the actual game its self, other than the implications that the other side (platform) should NOT have it . .
WHich sort of shows where our youth has gone really. Something as delicate, yet as truthful as this is dismissed, yet something as inane and juvenile as which platform is...
AFter speaking with a friend from Iran today about this, he even said that the game, if made and guided by those who served, could overt some future repeatition of such things.
He served in the Iranian war and his cousin was in the front lines and saw some terrible things, which I won't even go into here, but he said if a game was developed that showed the horrors of it. Then it could have an impact on the youger and more impressionable ones.
Those countries use emot...
THere's already a huge storm brewing over the game in the US, with n=both sides launching huge attacks on each other like kids in a playground.
If looked at in a logical, levelheaded manner, they might come to some resolve about it, but that's probably never going to happen in the US sadly.
It's also interesting to note that this item, based around real events, and real life situations and some level of maturity needed for discussion, attracts none of the fanboys on either side of the fence nor the attention some silly flame war would.
It seems that if something such as this requires thought, the fanboys are unable to do that, and have no way of commenting on it,but that's just my dislike of fanboys coming out there.
But in all fairness, I would suspect...
ANd the funny thing is, I've got 4 360's, and only had 1 have to be returned, and all the late models have no problems at all.
I hate MS Corp also - so you're in the right boat there. But I don't Hate those that support other platforms, and I support the 360 because it serves me and it serves out team ell - for whatever reasons.
All the team also have PS3's and or other consoles. Many of us have Macs, yet love the 360. The two work so well together actually, even be...
We were hammered because we "dared' review a PS3 game . . .or even questioned a game, yet in the previous article, and other Xbox reviews, we gave those bad marks and questioned MS's efforts on many levels.
But all they saw was a PS3 game on a Xbox site, so therefore the site was rubbish. Funny thing was/is, SCEE Australia welcome us to events, and we get support from them BECAUSE we don't shy away from our stance.
We attended the Release of both MGS4 (
One of the things we do is NOT publish any comments that have a go at any of our readers or commenters. We have rules, we'll stick by them. If more sites did stick by the rules they have, then more sites would end up with more dedicated followers (of fashion).
Even major sites allow the rubbish to continue, because it drives their marketing (read advertizing) dollar with greater views.
We'd rather do without the views than allow the comments to be made or read. Which...
True mate, which is why it has gotten totally out of hand. It has only really risen to this state in the last 3 or 4 years. Mainly since the launch of the 360, then PS.
Before that it existed, but not like it does now.
If we bow down to the pressure these 'clowns' place on sites and even developers, then we'll end up a laughing stock of the world, if we're not already.
Yet the industry wants to be taken seriously.
You don't get this much ve...
You made the comment, not me - we supply the names of our writers. ALways have, always will.
In fact it's part of acceptance on the site. Yes, the net does have that affect, but that should not stop ppl discussing things like this in a civil manner, especially when it affects the whole industry at large.

Yes true, but a reviewer who plays a game to actually try and find fault with it and constantly compare it to another is not reviewing the game, but simply pulling the game apart rather than looking for both the pros and cons of the game in that particular genre.
I suppose it comes down to weighing the positive and negative aspects of the game based on what it offers the individual in the end. I have never based my purchases on reviews. If a game "strikes" me as of bein...
