Thanks mate, we bounced several names around, and so many were fixated around the 360, But the platform is the target, but it also allows us to branch out later, as we do preview/review PS3-PC-Wii-iPhone games as well from time to time.
Thanks for the kind words, most appreciated.
Having seen several of the Bayonetta Developers diaries, and actual game play from Sega, I can not see what all the fuss is about the game. It's rather lacluster to be honest, and even cutsie to so levels (Bayonetta).
The original script and concept was ten times better, but it have changed so much, it's almost not recognizable from the concept designs.
Darksiders is a much more "mature" game and offers far more than Bayonetta can even hope to offer. I thin...
Which means it too will be Refused Classification closer to release in Australia, as now they OLFC are looking at MW2 and having it removed from the shelves, and have RC two games in the last 10 days or so. Crime Craft and now Aliens V's Predators . . . both of which got banned. Yet the movie of the same title (Aliens/Predators)gets passed - work that one out.
I think this, and a few more titles will cop the chop in 2010 IF the R18+ is not pushed. As there are moves by the very c...
Our rating system is a complete joke, and Australia is a huge joke when it comes to rating as far as the wolrd ratings systems and publisghers are concerned.
After speaking with many developer heads, and lead developers and publishers here, that have been invited over from major overseas companies, they are astounded that the games they clearly make for adults or mature audience, ie: 17-18 etc are being seen legally by 13-14-15-16 and even 17yr old, but more so with the earlier a...
Bubbles for the sense of humour mate . .
Actually, my excursion into modern gaming came after my partner passed away from cancer in 2003. After being her full-time carer for 3 months solid, playing games with both her, her daughter and anyone else that came around, helped bring a sense of humour to an otherwise grim reality that she 'was' going to die.
After she passed, many asked how I dealt with it, I was "so strong" and solid. My friend an I had to even organize the full funeral arrangements on the day she ...
Excellent article covering a very real and relative subject.
Australian's in particular do not like discussing their personal issues very much at all. And it's oftn not until almost too late before they do, if they do.
Gamers, are workers, husbands, mothers, sons daughters and the extended family. While you may not be suffering some form of depression or anxiety, many are.
All it takes is an understanding 'friend' to help them understand that someone car...
NOt a big fan of the fighting genre, but attending their media night was kinda fun, plus I nabbed one of the media only tinned limited editions on the night, which is rather cool, as far as a collectors point of view is concerned.
The game will most likely never be played, as my heart lies in other genre's. The reviewer however is a died-in-the-wool fighter fan, and his review would be one to take note of.
There could be a hint of Egypt being the next, and quite possibly - a woman . . Amunet, the Egyptian Assassin . . . yep, you heard it here "first" . . well, one can only hope, and it would fit in with high vantage points, WW2 certainly wouldn't, and the deep areas beneath the pyramids and pharaohs could have a huge range of possibilities that tie in well with the series.
I think they (Ubi) have thrown the WW2 and Hitler thing in there as a red herring to get ppl discussing the game early, create topical discussion etc.
Then go a complete 180 and have it in another era completely. This is common practice for many PR companies that work for Developers, and Ubi have an excellent way of leading gamers astray, and creating viral marketing for their games.
SO right now, anything is possible, but they have already started on the game (AC3) ...
I get the storyline, and as we live in a global state of affairs where waring factions can and do spread chaos in various parts at the same time, it does make sense to have different operatives in different areas while a simultaneous assault is taking place.
It creates confusing, pushes troops to their extreme measures, on both sides, and has the ability to have either side make mistakes.
Which the other side can then capitalize on. Just look at the capture level, co...
To guy reporting this as duplicate.
It would be damn hard to duplicate an original article that was only published on the original site 5-10 mins before being submitted to N4g. If you can find a link to someone else submitting THIS exact item, then please do?
You maybe confusing the header art, which is "similar" to our review header art perhaps? It pays to read articles, not just view their respective headers, as some site use 'similar art to tie the title...
I suppose I'm a littlke different re games than some others. . . I wasn't "expecting" anything from Modern Warfare 2 other than an extension to the original game. Either adding to the original storyline, which it has, and extending the gameplay in different directions, which it has.
So far, the game has given me a good experiences, one filled with some very tense and exciting moments. And had me really 'fighting for my life" in many areas.
Itr's as if ...
Oh look, more films based on games, next it'll be every game turned into a movie - -opps, it's almost that now.
Looks like something we might just do a feature on . . .
Thanks mate, we are gamers, not fanboys, and we are passionate about our hobby come sport, come fixation. Yes, we use the 360 as our platform of choice for our "main gaming pleasure" . .but it certainly does not limit us to just that platform.
Glad to have you following us . . I have some announcements soon about a VERY limited Collectors edition on two new games coming to BOTH platforms, and by limited, I mean single press run with "limited quantity"
...
DOn't base your choice NOT to buy a game on someone's review. You're a unique person, and your experience of any game will be different to that of the person reviewing the game.
Plus, a sad but common trend these days is to seemingly steer clear of games that score less that 9/10 (90) or dare I say, even 8/10 (80). This is absurd to the extreme.
Not saying you are or that is how you are basing your choice, bit for those who do . . please, for goodness sake, and the s...
Well I got the White Edition, (pics to come soon), and all I can say is, that I was very disappointed in that one, but this one leaves the rest for dead insofar as good delivered.
Thankfully I have Black Edition 'coming', , but it would have been nice for GAME to make theirs a great deal better. Especially when they are asking $AU129.95 for the White Edition ($AU59 with approved trade-in)
Well after seeing other do it, and do it well, I think they just want to jump on the band wagon as well.
If companies (publishers) want to retain gamers for long periods, then they do need to look at ways of giving them something back, especially if the publisher still wants to move older titles of existing franchises.
It would help new gamers look at the earlier iterations, and thu shave them more likely to purchase further disc-based goods when they are released.
It has to be a two way street, gamers do need to support publishers if the want a continual flow of good q...
Actually, if you read the article, it's more a play on words. Remembering that the player is WAR, a God, one of the 4 Horsemen . . . He wages war on the other gods . . . Check the storyline and the article, and Vigil Games comments about it.
