After seeing the footage, and seeing the game first hand, I'd say it will satisfy many gamers in what it will deliver . unless of course they just want to complain all the time . .
The amount of things you have at your disposal now is far greater than before. And you can inflict greater damage, but the Big Sister is not someone you want to mess with too often.
Actually, we've been given some MORE tickets late last night, so if any friends want to come, get them to email us asap. If you travel to Sydney, there's plenty of cheaper places to stay, back-packers, and some of the OXCGN team have offered to host some ppl if they need a place to nest.
Or, if you have friends in Sydney, then send them the info, get them to contact us, and we can let them have a ticket . . . so share the info around your networks guys, the more the merrier as t...
That's the whole point mate, and I agree.
It is an individual things, and PARENTS need top be responsible for their childrens growth, learning and manners. But the kids only getthat level of respect from how the parents guide them in what they can, and can not do.
WHile games of old did have high ratings, they were not the same level as they are now. Where almost real-life situations are being deplicted in games.
Many game developers that build games for...
I agree with you aboutthe signs mate, but definitely disagree with beinglike Australia. Here, 15yr old are legally allowed to buy and play games that you in the US (M-17+) and in Europe (18 - 18+) are only allowed to buy and play.
Why, because the officials say that they can't affix an older rating to games, as well, games are for kids, so the highest they will go is MA15+ . . . This also applies to movies that you guys would only see as M or even MA.
A 15yr old here...
While I agree in part, I disagree in others.
I'm also a parent, an older one actually, and as a child I spend manyhours infronbt of the TV, so did my kids, but within reason.
They still had to do their jobs, their homework and socialise, but their rewards were the things they liked to do.
I think games need to be age-appropriate, not just banned outright. Like one mentioned, the Wii and DS have some excellent educational games, they encourage both old an...
You need to open your mind a little more and enjoy other things besides big guns and huge explosions mate . . .Reading is a valuable art, everyone that makes games reads a great deal of game and fictional novels for inspiration and direction . . .
You might surprise yourself and actually find it interesting, and it could spark some life into the game for you. Which many gamers have found when reading game based novels. It opens them up to what other areas the game is telling them...
And the thing is, it's based around a real-world person of the time, one Caterina Sforza, and those were the things they did in those days . . . ewwww.
It'll be on my reading list as well, and as always, the writer knows his stuff, and is well worth the read.
This is how many major games should be followed through like. Bringing the different areas of interest together to please several mediums, getting the broader community interested in games, and to see that they are not the realm of pre-pubecent pimply faced kids in the bedroom.
I'm just working on getting up a brand new vid just being released right now which shows the weapon usage, incl being able to throw a bowie knife and the various Repeater Winchesters, Sprinfields and Older War Sniper rifle.
Remembering, that this was at the turn of the 1900's, just before the first world war basically, so it's not THAT old really.
Which, as I pointed out in the article, is one of my main concerns.
As many younger gamers - those of the last two generations, have not grown up with the Wild West, or any inkling of it, so it is a new and somewhat strange genre, with no automatic weapons, space marines or ultra quick action paced like say the War epics of today, or futuristic adventures.
But believe me, you do need to give this a go, as like all things, one you play iyt, you'll be hooked.
This is going to be one heck of a game, the work on this has been going on for years, and apparently, the RAGE engine was designed for this game in particular, and was test run in both Table Tennis and then in GTA IV . . and fine tuned now for Red Dead: Retribution . .
When you play this, you'll understand . .
NOt a fan of some older ones that are simply ports of older games, to 'keep then authentic' - blahh . .
But when they are complete rebuilds with the basic concept of the older games, then great. It is after all, the 21st century, not the late 80's to mid 90's . .so we expect a newer, fresher approach to games. Well I certainly do.
If I can nab some code for this, then I'll get it. Looks rather cool actually.
I think that's probably the best approach, as with all the great games available, it would be almost impossible to give any game their just time in the sun to play them properly and experience what they ahve to offe.
Which is sadly what many gamers do not do these days. They play a game for a short time, then move on to the next, then most likely bag the games without having played them through or to their full capacities.
There's be no way to play both of those game...
Like I said, not huge fan, what you see in the promo vids, CGI etc is nothing like what in-game art or design is like . . but then again, I'm just not into the whole JRPG thing. BUt as a collectible, it looks fantastic, and while the pic does state it's NOT the final box art or final layout, it does look great.
I'm just not a fan of JRPG's, but as a collector, this looks rather cool, and will most certainly be on a must have list of mine. . . Seems Play got the jump on SOny's announcement though . . . hehehehe
Great game, excellent PR from 2K games here in Australia - yet again. These guys know how to push a game, that is for sure.
Judging from the developers take-up of the technology, and their enthusiasm, I'm certain it will be a great move for the industry, and most definitely unlike how Niffty have attempted to do it.
If you'll notice in the article, there's a link to how IGN Entertainment is now "re-thinking" their commitment to the Wii platform in regards to gaming per-see. Interesting read actually.
While we may 'want' to have a controller for all our games, the way things are going, will mean that the controller will become an accessory for the hardcore gamer, more than the newer and average game.
While some gamers will moan and complain about such change, but as the whole environment changes, so 'must' we.
If we don';t, and pretend it isn't going or needs to change, then we'll be in for a BIG surprise. Follow the links before complaining and READ the article . . .
Not my cuppa tea, didn't like the first, and while this looks great visually, I still can't get my head around the fact you can grab and wield guns that are 3 times the size of a human being, yet the game tries to be realistic . cough cough.
Will give it a go of course, as I dont like passing judgment on a game without at least playing the retail version . .but nah. . not one I'd buy as a keeper.
