It felt very weird walking around inside Ubi's Sydney offices at night, especially hearing the game going 'off' in the distant room. Dim lights, the flicker of the screens, muted sounds from the other 2 guys there, getting some hands-on was excellent.

The game really has taken shape, and will certainly make an impression on any new Splinter Cell gamer, as well as the old-school Splinter Cell fans.

The demo is short, but you have the ability to replay it as many time...

YOu'll be hearing about a lot more games leading up to E3 this year, some we have been hearing about in the rumour-ranks, and some we've not even heard of, or been sitting in the back just waiting to make an appearance.

Brian Fargo is one of the better game designers with a scope that takes in a huge tale when it comes to the games he has been involved in, and ideally, this one will be no exception.

Give it a go mate, but, approach it with a clean slate. Meaning, don't expect something from it, and don't 'compare' it to the first or others in its genre.

I find if I play a game, any game, based on just how the game presents its self, and on my experience of that game only, then I enjoy it far more than I used to when I'd play a game basing it on other games and what I'm expecting it to be. Inevedibly I'd be disappointed, as my expectations would never be met.

But...

Yes, definitely . .and thanks for looking past the fact it is a trailer, and seeing the 'potential' it has . . bubbles to you for being a gamer, not a fanboy or picker.

Games like this can ideally move the industry along, especially at a time when it needs it most. Ideally we will see several new games appear at E3 this year, so I'm looking forward to it.

There are elements in there that I believe are based on the 'in-game engine, which is what I've gathered from previous articles on the game last year.

Not in-game sequences of course. but one only has to look at Mass Effect and similar games etc now to see that games developers can in fact deliver on what they show these days.

Games such as Bad Company 2 showed what the in-game scenes could be like, even within trailers. So has Red Dead: Redemption.

Hav...

You won't regret it, provided you know that it's similar in style to say Mass Effect in a way. And remember, that it is 1st-Gen, not This-Gen, and there are others in the franchise to check out . . . it's well worth the time it takes to give it a bash . .

Soon as we have details, we'll certainly be letting ppl know, as it's a game I've been following eagerly for the last several years.

It has changed direction a little from what was initially reported even last year, which wasn't much, but it did look different then, but had the same or similar story-basics to it. The changing face of humanity, which is an extension of the original concept of the franchise.

It certainly will attract some interest, and I did hear somet...

Finally some 'real' news on the game, not speculation or rumour. The vid looks brilliant, and if Square and Edios can do their usual best, then the game has some good possibilities.

Sometimes yes, and sometimes no, it depends on the Limited Edition item.

I purchased a simple little so-called console for not too much, and have held hold of it simply out of wonderment, and today the item is worth close to $US400, yet at the time of its release, it was less than that.

I also had a rather rare Dreamcast, which is a real limited edition, and is still wrapped up in bubble-wrap from the factory, and in that condition, is worth 4 times more than it was...

I have a shelf/s for the normal editions and one for the collectors editions etc.

That way my normal games can look happily together, and the collectors attract some attention when ppl come to visit . .

These collections have been going for years, decades actually, it's just that they have become more well known in the last few years, as publishers realise the ability they have at selling pre-order copies and attracting discussion on the games.

Take awa...

Well I suppose I'm lucky, I have my own room set up, the advantages of being single I suppose.

But yes, sometimes there is a limited amount of space one can dedicate to these collections, but some are very serious collections, costing many thousands, or even tens of thousands of dollars.

Some are even considered an "asset" by lending bodies these days - seriously, they are. A friend used his collection of "Matchbox" cars ,which was extensive mind ...

Some figurines are just tragic sadly, I was really expecting something special with the Resident Evil 5 Collectors Edition, and then found the Chris figurine inside - all of 2" tall if that . . . and it was very 'average' in quality . . .

Collector's are a funny breed, we collect things others think are a waste of money.

But there's something special about owning an item that connects you to a game, movie or story. We're looking at those who have game collections, specifically Collectors or Limited Edition items, games and consoles.

I'll be popping my stuff up there real soon, which will include some rare console that can give you both a headache, and nausea all at once. So guess what that one is .. ...

I'm about well and truly 'over' the whole Guitar Hero thing, really, just how far can they stretch making a buck from a game that is basically the same on each outing, with the exception of the band fronting it. sheesses.

At least Rock Band offered a different challenge and level of user involvement, and it shipped with more gear and much more support. So I suppose the score reflects that.

I can say I'll not be too saddened when the stop making the games, which I bel...

You would have loved it, both the media event and the UFC 110 (stands for the number of fight series) . . . was certainly bloody at times, and not for the faint hearted, but it was a complete sellout, and did so in less than 24 hours I believe, which was a first for the UFC series, especially outside the US.

Plus the guys, fighters and promoters were amazed at "how friendly us Aussie are" . . . they said. Also commenting on the fact that "in LA, no one talks to any...

And Xmen in the very first movie .. if anyone recalls .. Wolverine was doing 'cage' matches when the young one stumbles across him out in some frosty outback drinking and fighting den . ..

Nor am i, but for some reason, this game, and it's earlier iteration, does do something for me.

After meeting some of the real-world fighters at the media event, then seeing them 'live' the following Sunday at Acer Arena, I can see that these guys are actually very good sportsmen.

Not only in the training and level of expertise they have, but in how they treat each other, both on and off the mat.

Sure, they are there to win, but even during very heavy bout...

Some collectors editions ARE worth the money they ask for them, especially when you see what is in them, then the price being asked for them.

Like the Modern Warfare 2 one with the NVG, which by themselves would be in excess of $60, let alone the other goodies in the box. and the boxing as well. Or the Splinter Cell Convictions CE bundle form places like GAME for just $AU114, when the normal game sells for $AU100 or $AU120, the CE is definitely worth it, but ones like this, where...

This game, and several others would have me buy a PS3 - if I could afford one. They are still not cheap here in Australia, especially given the cost of other platforms . . .

That said, when I do get one, I'll certainly be playing this, as it is an 'acquired taste' - like good wine.

Many gamers were perhaps expecting - well - a "game", not so much an interactive CGI - Quicktime movie, which Heavy Rain is.

Not that there is anythiNg wrong with t...
