Well hey, as I understand it the ps4 isn't region locked, at least not for the physical game discs. With English subs, couldn't anybody in the states just import the Asian version and play?

with english subs? this NEEDS to come to US!

Why wouldn't there be? What a dumb question.

Lol @ darknet. It WOULD be dumb if Devs actually had to make two versions of their games but I highly doubt that will be the case. There is no indication of that at all. This will likely just have beefier specs, it will play the exact same ps4 games as a normal ps4, just with better resolution and frame rate. What the hell is wrong with that? It makes way more sense than just releasing a "slim" version a few years into the cycle. I can't wait for this.

If only there was an offline mode...but no. Here is a forced multiplayer online only game, with glitches and rampant cheating. Gaming industry, take note.

Hopefully this starts a trend in the industry. Would love to see more games do this.

Oh c'mon, there have been and will be PLENTY of new releases. People poo poo the existence of re-releases as some sort of affront to the generation...they're great games and there are always new gamers (or older ones that passed on it initially) who would love to play these games. Simply don't buy them if they are not for you.

They are going to release the "goty definitive ultra version" of Arkham Knight by itself, with all DLC, for $60, obviously. These marketing practices are predictable as hell.

Will the difference in power really allow for that much disparity? From what I've read we can expect that the neo will just hold a better frame rate, as in games that dip to 50s on ps4 will likely remain constant 60 on neo, and similar for 30 fps. If the difference in specs really allows for 60fps on neo and only 30 fps on standard ps4 for some games, I can see some real butt hurt coming. However, I feel like most gamers who care THAT much about frame rate and 60fps etc will pick up the n...

You're absolutely right that devs should be delaying and finishing their games, and not releasing sub-par products. Unfortunately we do not live in that perfect world. There will always be games released that don't have optimal performance, no matter what. But what I like about this idea is that it just makes way more sense than just releasing a "slim" model half way into the cycle... Seriously, what has ever been the real point of a slim version? Now, gamers who will be buy...

Exactly. This is a way better idea than just releasing a "slim" version of the same console. Plus, it's really not that uncommon to have to buy a replacement console at some point, or perhaps my experience with the xbox 360 has conditioned me to believe that... in any case this is a nice option, and it IS optional. My only concern is that devs don't rely on this new console for specs... games need to still be up to par on original console specs, and it defeats the purpose of...

I think that is the key, though; optimization. typically in the last few gens, games that released at the end of the cycle looked way better than games that released at the beginning, due to better optimization and new techniques being developed. I think in this gen, we will hopefully see less emphasis on optimizing graphics, and see a shift to emphasis on performance, because games already look so good now.

1 and 2 were FANTASTIC. Really hope we get another like those. Dead space is probably my favorite horror franchise, and one of my top 5 favorite overall franchises of last gen.

There has been a long and overwhelming obsession from both gamers and Devs over how good games look. And how they must look better with every advance in technology. And hey, games look god damn amazing now. I'm hoping that we are beginning to reach a shifting point where new games focus more on technical stuff and not how many polys they can cram in a character model. I don't really need my character to have 100,000 independently moving hair follicles on their head; I want smoother ga...

Getting real tired of your S**T, Bioware. When can we SEE some of the game?

3596d ago 7 agree0 disagreeView comment

The option of choice IS great for everyone. I have no problem with the existence of digital. But if discs/physical option ever ends, it won't be good. I guarantee it.

3617d ago 13 agree0 disagreeView comment

The graphics look that way probably because of the sheer size of the game. There are 18 quintillion planets, they aren't going to be the best rendered environments of all time.

Pretty sure the economics of deciding a price point on games is more complicated than "if gamers will pay $60 for indie they will pay 100+ for AAA"

The message this hopefully will send is that gamers will happily pay $60 for a good, quality game that is packed with content. Which is what I hope no mans sky turns out to be. $100 price point is laughable and the industry knows this. Which is why they've gone the route of DLC and season passes to try to make more m...

There is nothing inherently good or bad about a game being "indie." Some indie games might be worth $60 at launch. Some AAA professional games aren't worth $60 at launch.

If the game has the amount of content and fun factor to warrant $60, who cares if it is Indie or not? The bigger problem is the hype and preordering/day one purchases. Gamers should really try to evaluate if a game is actually going to meet the hype and expectations. People keep getting burned ...

Dude those games were crap. At least in this game it actually felt like you were controlling a huge Kaiju. just needs a lot more depth, but I think they are on to something here.
