This happens all the time; enhanced, complete and goty editions frequently get released later on down the road. They could upgrade day 1 buyers as a courtesy, but that would REALLY be a slap in the face to the people who bought season passes etc.
But if you've been a gamer for any amount of time you understand how it works. You either buy the game on release so you can enjoy it right away, or you hold out for some kind of enhanced/complete edition later on.
Always online is pure garbage. It is something devs/publishers use for leverage over gamers, and it strips your consumer rights away. instead of paying $60 for a game so that you can play it any where, any time so long as you have a console and power, now you are spending $60 to RENT TIME on a server. Internet connection goes down? Can't play. Server goes down? Can't play. Dev decided they don't like you for any reason? Banned from server and can't even play by yourself offlin...
This sort of thing will happen all the time if the industry ever makes the move to fully digital, I guarantee it.
UCForce is right. This push for digital only is to give more power to publishers and take rights away from consumers. You may enjoy the convenience of digital, but you lose some of your ownership in going all digital. Now publishers can decide to only let you access their games when you are connected online even if it's a single player game. They can keep your save file server-side only. And when they decide to shut down their servers, your $60 spent now means nothing. You lost it 100%. A...
They should've given this game the full remake treatment like RE2.... or at least bundled it as a trilogy. Still happy to be getting something though.
Vulcan is exactly right. You do not want to be forced into digital only. Digital can be taken from you, without notice, and often times it can be extremely difficult, if not impossible to get back the things you PAID for. With physical media, that can't happen.
But it also needs to be said that similar dangers would apply to online-only consoles. Something that I think the big companies will try in the future. And sadly, more and more gamers are becoming receptive to i...
They really should be releasing a remastered collection, AT LEAST the original trilogy, but I say throw in Dawn of Dreams as well.
OMGWTFBBQ!
YASSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
People tripping over themselves to make a big deal out of nothing. You would think by the reactions here that everyone was just forcibly made to watch the ending sequence of the game. We are talking about BONUS costumes smh.
You'll still get to see them in game, the thumbnail hardly gives you an idea of what the entire suits look like in all their glory. I don't even recognize over half of these suits and still have no idea what the full suits look like in game. It's going to be ok. Be excited that the devs decided to include so many.
Unlockable costumes are spoilers now? C'mon people, don't be so quick to over react.
The issue is that it's the only response following these tragedies. More and more people are getting tired and frustrated of "sentiments" and want ACTION. Sickness and cancer are inevitable, mass shootings are not. Victims and affected families deserve more than just "thoughts and prayers."
“it is actually a political decision to dissuade people from discussing these topics.”
Quoted for truth.
“There were very fine people on both sides of the shooting.”
Thoughts and prayers don’t prevent mass shootings. But I’m guessing this country needs about 10,000 more before it figures that out.
Exactly. You get it.
Denawayne,
It is NOT inevitable. Xbox One was supposed to be online-only. WE stopped it from happening. Not some fancy executive at Microsoft; Gamers came together and stopped it, and we CAN do it again. The problem is that more and more gamers are for some reason being conned into thinking online-only is desirable. Rather than lament what you think is inevitable, spend your time explaining to others why online-only makes no sense and is bad for consumers.
@denawayne
Just answer this one question. What is one single benefit that an online-only console gives a consumer that you literally can’t get with an offline/online console like ps4. What is one good thing that only an online-only console can offer?
It will happen but I don't know if now is the time. It's a classic, not just for the series but for the horror genre as a whole, so no doubt it will get remade at some point in the future. Wait until next gen and do something really spectacular with it, I say.
There isn't a single logical reason to require an internet connection for a single player game.
