Those plus Red Steel 2, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Monster Hunter Tri, Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Zelda, New Super Mario Wii, Metroid: The Other M, The Grinder, and still more to come.
It's hard to judge...not that I particularly had any high hopes for the game, it seems the author has more problems with the whole "Clone Wars" media campaign (which I like, considering I don't need to compensate for anything by screaming "I'm too manly and mature to watch a kids show", the cartoon isn't in bad for a Star Wars fan), which, like most reviews done by GI, creates a conflict of interests.
If Sega wants to break into the mature Wii owner group, it needs to something that the other consoles can't. Madworld was fun and artistic and all, but ultimately, it wasn't anything super special. House of the Dead Overkill was the same. The Conduit was a good start, with a FPS that really did things only the Wii could do like having weapons change based on how the player the twisted the wii remote and stuff like that, and I think a bigger Conduit for a sequel would be excellent. But ultimat...
They cut him off...he went on to say "for a while".
Madworld wouldn't have sold on the pre-existing market and you, I, and everyone knows that. It was a 6 hour long beat-em up with no replay value.
It's really just a shame that this review goes out of it's way to give the game a 5/10 score...and really doesn't explain why.
I'm getting a lot of "I played the game for 10 minutes", since a lot of things I know are in the game aren't mentioned nor are any mentions of how the controls work other than the third-eye and gestures.
There is just a lot in this review that is missing, and it really shouldn't even have a score slapped on it.
It was a girl wasn't it?
My Wii works fine after the update.
Wow...that is one professional sounding review right there [/sarcasm]
Seriously, I don't care who thinks what game is good or bad, but at least a review should tell me something about the game other than some vague descriptions on how bad it is....I've seen other reviews, and this review doesn't even come close to telling me a similar story.
5 min. reviews FTL D:
Gosh I miss the Dreamcast and the "Dreamcast will never die" and "Dreamcast is number 1" days....man those were some great times.
Sigh...when people first picked up a controller it was to pass time with a silly little game.
There has been, and always will be, more people who play a video game to pass some time with a little fun, then those who play games for the sake of playing games.
The thing about unfair advantages....playing with items requires a certain level of skill. For example, not being able to dodge a warp star, a capsule, a homerun bat, etc. is something that can be worked on as a set of skills. I play competitively with items on, the best people I brawl with all know how to catch items thrown at them, dodge final smashes, and even how to use every piece of the environment to their advantage.
Not saying that playing without items isn't also a set ...
I seem to remember Netflix explicitly saying they had no plans to move their service to the Wii...did they change their mind? Oh, the source is IGN...yeah, that makes sense...
I can't believe it has taken this long for anyone to say "production costs" and stuff like "The Wii is cheaper".
Seriously you guys, the Wii isn't just a motion sensing machine, it's also a way to make new high-risks games with a small loss if the game tanks. I remember reading something about Activision threatening to leave Sony because the cost of production is just too high.
Also, since there are still plenty of gamers out there that can't ge...
New IP selling 71k in 9 days! Seriously, I don't think new IP usually sells like that.
Last I checked, 1's and grades such as that are reserved for UNPLAYABLE games, surely the reviewer is doing something wrong if this game is "unplayable" to them when almost everyone else seems to have been able to get everything to work.
This is definitely the century breaking gaming news we've been waiting for.
It's "handing the game over to your game savy older brother" for those who don't have a game savy older brother. Oh no!
Completely depends on your definition of hardcore.
Just adding to the "reasons to hang on" category on page 2 alongside No More Heroes 2 and Lost in Shadow.
For games like Red Steel 2 and The Grinder, from what I've seen gameplay wise, it looks really fun. I've played the Japanese version of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and I loved it, and the sequels like Monster Hunter 3 and No More Heroes 2 can't really disappoint for people who loved previous installments.
Also, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and New Zelda really can't...
