Lol, I'm playing Chrono Trigger for the first time right now, I wish it had demo play.
But seriously, if this is the end of gaming, then what were strategy guides? They are essentially the same thing, but hey, this "demo" play looks like it's just bare minimum beating the game, none of the extra stuff.
The probably are.
Having something real is definitely better than pretending to hold something. Nintendo and Sony got that part right. In fact, that was the whole reasoning behind the Wii Wheel, that it just feels more natural.
There are a lot of console gamers that depend on rumble. Rumble is a big thing, it's environmental feedback and I personally find it harder to react in FPS games when I'm playing on my PC then on a console, since receiving audio feedback from the speakers is not as instantaneous as feeling rumble from the controller (small difference, but our brains work so much faster than our bodies so every millisecond counts).
Removing the controller is dumb. The Natal does make for a great...
But with neither of them looking like they support analogue control sticks, the Wii remote (with motion plus or without) beats them both since that still uses the nunchuck for analogue control over a character. Notice how on both demos we didn't see any of the playable characters on screen moving large distances freely, or even at all. The Sony one was really cool, but how can Kratos walk around ancient Greece when he is limited to camera looking out onto a single room. Same goes for Master C...
The guy mentioned head tracking for an FPS, but it still requires a controller. As impressive of a feat head tracking would be, it's not that helpful as either the controller already does that or if they do something really dumb and make it so the "head" turns but not the gun (like looking around while still pointing the gun forward).
The problem with Natal from the start is that the lack of analogue control really limits the player. Sure, a racing game or flight game ...
I like how everyone complains about Nintendo using the same franchises, yet everyone poos their pants when Bungie announced yet another Halo FPS game.
I think it depends on how stubborn the "hardcore" are about the Wii. If, for example, someone is a Dead Space fan, they might want the Wii for Extraction. Red Steel 2 is going to be the premiere sword swinging adventure game to use a 1:1 motion controller.
Then of course we got a slew of other Japanese RPG's, adventure, and other games, three HVS titles on the way, plus some of Nintendo's own like Metroid: The Other M and Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Isn't it due out in holiday season? Motion plus comes out, like, next month, so I fail to see how this game is being rushed. I think the guy is just being overly critical of some some rather small details about how the motion plus. At this point, things can be fixed and made better.
Yeah...the only reason why Sony's appeared "better" was because they used two plus the eyetoy. My friend and I were discussing after watching the E3 demo that it would be a marketing nightmare if they tried to package two plus a camera all together.
Also, they showed us a glimpse of body tracking FPS gameplay (something already done with just a motion controller) but they only showed us how to walk around a room, but not, say, from one room to another or across a huge ...
There are just no pleasing some people. The hypocrisy in today's gaming communities and journalism is so ridiculous that it pretty much invalidates everything before it's even written.
Lol...
If Nintendo, and this is only an if, did make emotionally triggered games, this could once again revolutionize the gaming industry. Call if a gimmick if you want, but imagine an RPG that based character relationships off how you actually felt about them and not off the yes no question branches? A horror that changed based on how afraid you were? Even a fighting game or brawler that gave you bonus for the more adrenaline? Stuff like that is really cool and definitely make f...
Nintendo lost points for "silly" physical reality. Funny, isn't that what Microsoft and Sony are trying to do right now? Break into physical reality gaming? Oh G4, will you ever not fail?
I think what Mr. Iwata was trying to say was that this devise can bring emotional responses to gaming. Can you imagine a game that changes and adjusts itself based on how relaxed or tensed you are? As soon as he said what it did, the first thing I thought of was a game that changes based on how afraid you are.
Suda wasn't talking! Lol
The game remains as much as an enigma as it did when we first saw the trailer.
But a few things. I'm not a fan of MS or the 360 but I watched it anyways and to say they did something super spectacular amazing and beyond belief is um...a bit of exaggeration.
Alan Wake looked...well...um...boring. Modern Warfare I think just had a bad demo. Like they showed the beginning and a firefight. Best part was getting on the snowmobile and shooting at pursuers, but I sure hope (and it probably will) it gets better later on in the game. Halo was Halo and I'm still wai...
Did any Sonic fans hear the orginal Rouge the Bat voice actress? I thought I did.
Anyways,the game looks awesome.
*drool*
Yes, the article does suck.
Here's why:
1) They did. Super Mario Bros. 2 (I believe, I'm not fact checking) but you go to play as Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Peach. Super Mario 64 DS, Mario, Wario, Luigi, and Yoshi. Heck, even in Super Mario Galaxy beating the game unlocks the harder to control Luigi.
2) The RPG series does that already. They even established other kingdom's aside from Mushroom and Bowser's.
3) Yes, the Paper Mario series has ...
Well, the stuff was transferred (albeit illegally) to someone else, so perhaps it's still in the works (as long as this lawsuit doesn't shut it down), we may still get Rogue Squadron for the Wii.
