Horror games usually scare me with their cheap tricks (well, I haven't played some of the really scary ones), but some of the elements in the Metroid Prime series has had me genuinely scared. The first prime game when you knock out the power in the space pirates pendrana base, everything goes dark, you have rely on your thermal visor, Metroid and that horrible screech start breaking out and attacking you, and they introduce the invisible enemies (well, they're actually invisible this ...
The camera appears to be fixed in various positions...but don't most games that aren't first-person feature the camera behind the main character?
1) I fully expect people to hate this game because it's a different take on the series that people claim to love (like Sonic the Hedgehog), simplifies controls and uses them uniquely, and it on the Wii. Those alone is usually enough to warrant a bad score because the reviewer (who is not the epitome of all gamers so what does he know). Usually being on the Wii is good enough, but this has Metroid to back it up (which might not even work).
2) Those bathroom locks can be k...
I find it hard to believe anything else than this reviewer just kinda sucked at this game that it has serious design problems. I see that a lot, especially in games that actually try to have some depth to their gameplay or (gasp) have certain mechanics that players are suppose to discover and experiment with (i.e. not cliche or overused and not considered in the game to be essential to warrant a tutorial). I've seen a lot of games like this and personally love when they use it. I've a...
I love tactical games the encourage being in a group. Battlefield 2142 is my most played shooter so naturally I thought I would love MAG. Unfortuntely, from what I have read and been told, it doesn't really offer team based gameplay but more like everyone just running around an area until someone tells them to move on.
Also, with BF2142 there were classes and tasks people could have that would make them essential that doesn't involve shooting their guns. I'm pers...
Character development in a character is hard, especially because player's are given almost no motivation to do things other than what they are told and have no opportunity to deviate from that based on what they know (which would make replaying a game pointless when it has a strict storyline).
You mean like all 60 seconds or less of platforming that we've actually seen? And yeah, how does shooting look "dated"?
I like this one better http://www.next-gen.biz/new...
Seems more optimistic about motion control.
Probably why they had such a huge marketing campaign to tell people how this game is more like what they wanted Red Steel 1 to be like. The only problem with that is most people only follow popular games to begin with.
Considering that the only thing Red Steel 1 and Red Steel 2 have in common is the idea of using a gun and a sword, and that kind of being the selling point, it seems kind of weird that people would just ignore it like that.
Did you even look at the game? Completely different. It's also mind-numbingly fun.
You must have not read the comics the movie was based off of. They were much better in terms of actual story telling, which makes the movie kinda boring by comparison.
The game on the other hand, could at least be more fulfilling. But I haven't played it yet.
Alternate reality Rapture? Always sounds fun, no doubt I'll get to play it.
I think Move has cemented motion remotes as the future, because really, it hasn't done too much yet that the Wii hasn't already done.
In Juno Eclispe's defense (from the Force Unleashed) many people in the Empire did have a British accent. At least officers did. So, that one may have been the voice actors trying to get the idea across that she is (or rather was) an Imperial loyalist.
If it's only on games you pirate, then I've got nothing to worry about.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers and Little King's Story. The first has a great story, fun and interesting characters, and a fully immersive and interactive world. The latter is stupidly creative bundling many genres together, exploring interesting themes ranging from political issues to religious issues (cleverly disguised mind you), and amazingly addictive once you get your kingdom going.
without even reading, big name retail stores would never allow this to happen.
The article actually doesn't say anything about the PS3 being a bad console. Just Sony being an uncaring company.
While probably not considered a horror game by anyone, I still like the sense of isolation from Metroid Prime.
It's almost like he's saying "No, seriously, we don't want your money."
Is it free to play or subscription...that latter could have some unfortunately consequences.
