C'mon guys. You guys don't think that Sony is a company that is self-interested? The article is just stating that this level of self-promoting is what is causing them to be behind in sales from the beginning. Blu-ray is nice, but devs have shut down because it cost so much money to make a game on the PS3 and they flopped. Not just got hurt, actually shut down. And with analyst saying that 3-D gaming is going to cost more, c'mon, they already cost $60 now, I don't think I could...

Monster Hunter Tri, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers, Beatles Rockband, and Wii Sports Resort just to name a few.

There are a bunch of other games that don't need them, so don't, but there are plenty of Wii games that not only have achievements, they also reward you for it with unlockbables.

Did he even play the game? Of course not, he hates Wii games.

A lot of big Wii games I've seen already use their own achievements though. Wii Sports Resort had them, Metroid Prime Trilogy added them to one and two, as well as keeping the ones that were already in three. Super Smash Bros. Brawl had basically had (special trophies and unlockables were the rewards), Monster Hunter Tri has them in the form of online "awards" and titles. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers had them, any gamer who isn't caught up in the wav...

Can we have our cake and eat it to.

Graphics are important for game representation. Surely a game like Uncharted couldn't have been done with SNES or Genesis graphics...But we live in such an era where people want long, pretty, and interesting games, or at least some combination of two of those elements. Imagine how interesting a game could be and how long the story could span if the all the graphical processing powers of a game like Uncharted 2 went into more levels, ...

They already provide trailers for upcoming games on the Nintendo Channel as well as , I believe, demos for DS games.

Nintendo seems absolutely dedicated to not making people pay for online, especially in the western regions. Capcom did however get Japanese people to pay for their MH3 online service.

I wouldn't be. If you're into Pokemon and playing with friends, why settle on the just DS when you can have full 3-D models duking it out. Overpriced? Yes. A terrible game? Not if the 3-D battles and better than DS graphics is what you want.

I always like this guy cause he's funny. But is it not impossible to be funny and actually have an objective review? I know all the parts he was talking about and he's complaints are kinda stupid...(complaining about a scripted event and then hoping to recreate it in an unrelated event...). Also, very little was said about the actual monster fighting. I mean, for a "review", mentioning everything except the primary concept of the game is kind of uh...bad.

Coupled with the fact that the dialogue is terrible. No wonder people think this is better in Japanese, since in Japanese they can't comprehend verbally how stupid this all sounds, even when they say it back to themselves.

Anyone else think that this guy should stop talking for everyone? The first four (maybe the only the middle three depending on who you are) are pretty obvious, mentioning them however seems only like a platform to whine about motion controls (saving the most important for last are we?).

"Whether you're talking about Natal, Move or the current champion the Wii, each is supporting a style of gaming which the average player doesn't seem to want."

The game was fun, but hardly utilized the power of the Wii to the fullest. It was a beat-em up that prided itself on the finishing moves. I think what they had on their hands there was a game people would be wary of because it's either a) generic, or at least not unique enough for most people to give it a try or b) was really kinda way too short, they definitely could have added more content esp. with a $50 price tag.

"But the bottom line is that the game takes a little too long to get going, and when it does it's all over way too soon."

The game is supposedly 10 hours long. I've played about an hour of it and it already felt like it was going for about 30 minutes.

With the way IGN rates Wii games, I usually add two points to the game in question to get a more accurate score. So, a 10.6/10 holy cow, that's good!

Not just superior to The Conduit, but also has big name recognition so this really isn't a surprise.

I think this article was very well written, but there is just one thing about it that bothers me, and it is this.

Anyone who says that "casual" gaming has risen has not been paying attention. The fact of the matter is, casual games have been around for year and year and years and have always been outsold "hardcore games". In fact, most people would probably be surprised on how many "casual" elements devs have to put into their games to attract the casu...

I thought the a toy was an entertainment focused product? Do toys not entertain? I'm confused.
