I don't think it needs to feel exactly like SMB3. In fact, the fact that it won't feel like the original game is what makes me excited about it. It's going to be different applications of old gameplay mechanics.
Plus this is a perfect opportunity for Nintendo to show other Devs what they can do with 3D. Nintendo is really good at utilizing it's own tech and making truly unique concepts. Imagine having to turn on 3D to find a hidden powerup house midlevel th...
Big news. If this has anything to do with SMB3, be it a remake or a sequal, then this will be big for the 3DS.
Word will get out that arguably the best game ever is back, and the 3DS will get sales from people that haven't touched a game in a long time.
I mean, this has to be Mario 3 related. I doubt Nintendo would have put that tail in there otherwise.
That's fine. There's enough fighting games coming to 3DS for now. 2 fighting games in the first 3 months of the life cycle is enough IMO.
Nice to see the redeemer on the list. It's certainly badass enough.
I'm getting neither day one, but if I had that possibility, I would get the 3DS. I'm not the most unbiased person on here, since I've owned every Nintendo portable minus the virtual boy, but I'm sticking with Nintendo first. Nintendo has NEVER let me down before in terms of handhelds. You have to go with what your most comfortable with. I don't need PS3 graphics, or anything like that. As long as nintendo gives us "Main" entries of Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, e...
I want info on DQX. I also want Capcom to wake up and announce the localization for both Edgeworth 2 and Layton Vs. Ace Attorney. More 3DS announcements are welcome, too.
In terms of console stuff,I want a localization announcement and release window for Ni No Kuni.
Great news. I admit I had a few concerns going into launch, but it's great to hear that it has good momentum early.
It did get sales though. The article says that it wasn't chaos because all the major stores made it clear that the launch was pre-orders only. That doesn't mean that said pre-orders didn't sell. And that also means that Japan doesn't want the 3DS. It means that people aren't stupid enough this time to try and get something they can't without a reservation.
Things are going to get very interesting if this is true.
It's not THAT bad.
It's only like $5 more than what you were paying for first party games on the DS.
A subpar list. I expected as much though considering the way they've handled the launch so far. It seems very rushed IMO. I think they should have at least waited until July or something like that. That way OoT and others would be ready for launch. But they just had to launch it by March 31. I'm as big a Nintento fan as they come without actually being a fanboy, but this could hurt Nintendo in the early going.
That's because they ARE selling more. These are impressive numbers, no doubt, but the DS still has a 50 million plus unit lead.
IGN is hardly the only guilty one in that regard. Gaming journalism makes these comments all the time. Every damn game is GOTY until the next game comes out. And every trailer melts their faces off. It's kind of sad how far they've fallen.
Good to see Ghost Trick get some love.
Agree with everything you said. Personally, I want them to put some RPG elements back into the game. ME2 took out a lot of things that I really liked. Also, I want the continued presence of ME1 characters. It's going to be easy for Bioware to focus more on ME2 cameos, but I hope they don't forget about the first cast.
I'm with you. I have absolutely no plans of dropping gaming. I've already been gaming for 20 years, I would be foolish to stop anytime soon :).
Anything can happen this generation, so maybe.
If Sony can price competitively and have a good variety of games spanning all genres, then it has a good shot.
Plus I want to see some obscure stuff like Ace Attorney and Ghost Trick.
They're still quality titles though. To me, milking becomes an issue only when quality starts to decline and they still make them.
Good news for the 3DS and Wii. For me? Not so much.
I think this will be multiplat given that it's coming from Sega, a company that releases multiplat whenever possible.
