Good news. Always had a soft spot for this series, but never really owned any of them. My run with the PS2 was a short lived one. From what I played, though, I saw a series full of personality and character. Def. interested.
Had to laugh at the title. It reminds me of when I heard that Pokemon red/blue was banned in an eastern country(Pretty sure it was either Korea or China)because they thought that it possesed their children.
I'm buying a 3DS tomorrow and I can't wait. I know what I'm getting. I've played the thing 3 times and am well aware of its flaws. There's two reasons why I'm buying one. The first is Ocarina of Time 3D. I am a massive OoT fanboy. The second reason is that I need a new DS anyway, so why not spend a little extra on the next system. So to me, getting a 3DS makes since on a number of levels. There's games coming down the pipeline, and I'm sure Nintendo will get th...
I don't mind remakes as long as it adds something. Take OoT 3D. They completely overhauled the art style, added a boss rush mode, included the master quest on the same cart, and made the master quest harder by enabling double damage against. That's enough change to warrant a remake.
The picture is sort of misleading because all but one of those games are straight ports.
Exactly. The competition this year is going to be fierce. There are a ton of games that could potentially be GOTY worthy. No one game is going to clean sweep like UC2 did. This year there's real competition.
That's a pretty bold statement. There haven't been too many games this gen that belong in that discussion IMO. Let's see if this one does.
There will always be a place for 2D games in the market. They're a great diversion from all of the graphics/visual based stuff and reminds older people of why they became gamers.
That's partly why I'm excited for Skyward Sword. From what I've seen, the gameplay is nothing like we've seen in a Zelda game before. Yeah, it has the same basic format, but how you progress through the game is different. There won't be the typical new item every dungeon format either due to emphasis on upgrading. As far as the story goes, Hyrule doesn't exist yet. That alone should put an end to typical Zelda cliches. Skyward Sword is a pretty big departure IMO.
I would like to see a Windwaker remake that fixes the gameplay flaws the original had. It could have been one of the best Zelda games ever created IMO if it weren't for the flawed gameplay. I loved the story and thought it easily outclassed most contemporary Zelda plots.
Like the art style on this one. I'm always up for a good ol' JRPG.
Nintendo needed something like this.
SO glad they didn't announce a redesign. Looks like I'll be getting a 3DS next month.
Really liked the fact that Mario Tennis is returning. I was disappointed when both that and Mario Golf no showed on the Wii.
Either way, I think Nintendo needs to make up their minds. I've been buying Nintendo portables since the Gameboy Pocket, and I have NEVER seen Nintendo scramble around like this before. It's not too late to rebrand as long as Nintendo offers compensation(Again) to early adopters.
Nintendo needs to make up their mind Philosiphy wise. It's hard to market the device to consumers when it seems like even the company itself doesn't have a firm direction for the h...
I'm so glad I wasn't able to afford one at launch. Blessing in disguise. My orignal plan was to get one on october 5th, but depending on what happens tonight/tomorrow, I might have to push it back, which is unfortunate because my DS is on its last leg right now.
Dragon Quest IX sold pretty well IIRC. It was also a pretty solid RPG IMO. I think X will do well as long as Nintendo themselves advertize it like they did with IX.
This E3 was kind of a dud IMO. Nothing had that big ticket feel for me.
Nintendo should have waited until they had actual first party software on it. The crowd would have gone nuts seeing Hyrule in HD.
Way too early for info like that.
I joined the Beta at 1.5. Does that make me shunned, too? You're acting like the true minecraft community consists solely of people who've been there since alpha.
I love Minecraft, and I want everybody to play it. Even those with consoles.
Seems that way, doesn't it. Sony surprised the hell out of everybody. Great job.
I wouldn't underestimate the power of the word Nintendo, though.
Wow, Sony is really serious about this handheld thing. Nintendo has to be a little nervous.
I'm one of the many that think Ocarina of Time is the best game ever created. It was fingertips away from perfection and ushered in a new era. Now's not the time to discuss that, though.
I don't think that it should be nominated for GOTY in 2011. That honor should be reserved for games that have their initial release date that year. OoT got its haul of GOTY awards in '97. I don't think OoT needs to prove anything else. It's a mainstay in the best of ...
