More than anything else, the ability to play Wii U games on the gamepad will ultimately drive me to buy the console. I really like that they did that. Judging by the gamepad gameplay videos, it seems to work as advertized.
That was a pretty surprising move by Nintendo. Make no mistake, this is a statement. By picking up a core, underrated game with a sizable cult following, Nintendo is basically confirming that the effort to win back core gamers will be a real one.
Same thing with Ninja Gaiden. Core gamers were pissed off at the design choices made, so Nintendo picks up the rights and commissions a retool of the game.
Obviously, the casual crowd will still get a lot of attentio...
It's really similar to the other "New" games, but I did notice one thing about the Wii U version. It seems like they're trying to make awesome backgrounds this time around. These particular screens aren't the best example, but some of the backdrops I've seen are pretty cool.
Nowadays I'm more in line of what Nintendo is offering, but that doesn't stop me from recognizing the merit in the other systems. When something impresses me, it impresses me. I don't give a damn what logo pops up at the end of the trailer. For example, I really liked the Beyond trailer at E3 while also liking the Pikmin stuff. Even if something doesn't appeal to me, I see why the people that do like it are excited. Examples of that are the Uncharted series and the AC series. ...
Galaxy 2 was probably the best mario game I've played in a long while. They fixed nearly every flaw the first game had. They pretty much perfected the galaxy style gameplay.
3D Land I thought was pretty neat. There were a couple of neat ideas in there. The big drawback of 3D Land, though, is that the levels felt way too short. I see big potential for a sequel featuring less condensed levels.
NSMB Wii and NSMB 2 are okay, but they feel a little uninspired ...
Fantastic news. It just wouldn't be a 'DS' system without an AA game. The game seems to be taking a very different direction from the first four, so it'll be interesting.
Per IGN, Capcom Confirmed that we'll be getting AA5! Awesome!
Pretty pumped. Glad to hear they're going back to Phoenix. Apollo just didn't click with me.
As far as localization goes, I think we'll get it at some point. The Phoenix games have been the most successful in the franchise, and I think the people that skipped out on the spinoff will come back for Phoenix.
Regarding the Layton spinoff, that's a no brainer IMO. Layton is a decent draw in the west, and it'll transition AA players from Apollo...
This is something the Vita needs. A fresh IP designed with the sole purpose of showcasing the Vita's features. They picked the right dev to do it, and the game looks great.
This is an okay revision. The bigger top screen is sure to be a positive thing, and the longer battery life is nice.
Now, the second nub thing... IDK. On the one hand, it'll open the door for many types of experiences. On the other hand though, even with the peripheral, I still think that this move would segment the userbase. Kind of a tricky situation Nintendo's in.
New Super Mario 2 looks like a blast. Can see it getting chaotic with just about everything puking up coins. The golden fire flower looked really fun, and of course the raccoon tail.
Paper Mario looked interesting I thought. I like they're at least trying a small quest system. While it looked like busywork, I at least liked the fact that they're giving the player incentive to interact with the characters. I don't see the stickers being a major issue since they s...
Wow, that was... something. Nintendo has been known to be unpredictable. In good ways, and in this case, bad ways. That really wasn't a good conference. I personally think that nothing was really ready yet except for the Mario and Pikmin game. Even so, a very flat effort overall.
Not really a fan of this particular type of combat, so I don't see myself playing it. Had the same problem with Uncharted.
However, you really can't deny the quality of these games. Top notch developers for sure. Although I'm not interested personally, I can easily see why fans of the genre are really pumped. The graphics looked great and the addition of the girl opens up a wide array of dynamic combat options.
When you get someone like Kojim...
Between this and Watch Dog, my interest in E3 has been brought back to full. Anything QD touches is great, so this should be a good one.
Absolutely stunned. This game looks so awesome top to bottom. Stunning graphics, a unique/fresh gameplay system and a great world.
I live for moments like these.
This looked freaking incredible. I love when devs roll the dice and try something new. Wow.

Ending the conference with Blops 2 was an insult IMO. How the hell do you not give your main event slot to your flagship franchise? Throughout the whole conference I was thinking that Halo simply took COD's spot. How silly of me. HUGE placement blunder IMO. Seemed like they wanted Black Ops to be the bigger game.
I don't think the time is right for Zelda Wii U just yet. Zelda games usually have at least a 2 year dev cycle, and Skyward Sword is still pretty new. Maybe they've been working on it for a while, but I wouldn't expect much.
If we see Zelda, I'm expecting a 30 second teaser with a year at the end (2014?). That's all they really need to do. Show Hyrule in HD and get people excited for the future of the series.
I expect Nintendo to come out...
I'll take a spiritual successor any day of the week. I miss 3D platformers, and they're choosing an excellent mold for one.
Still, though. Nintendo announcing Banjo 3 would be one of the most shocking announcements in a long time. Mainly because it's just unlikely on so many levels. First of all, MS owns rare. Another factor is that I don't think Nintendo would accept an Xbox/Wii U Banjo release. I would think that if Nintendo was unsuccessful in trying to g...
