Too Human was originally a PSX game, and then a Sega Saturn game for a little while I believe. It's basically what happened to Duke Nukem Forever, better hardware kept coming out so they scrapped what they had to make the game look better. Except Too Human actually released, of course, but whether that is for the better remains to be seen.
Honestly I wouldn't work at SK, my hometown was St. Catharines but I decided to move away and work at a different studio. Dyack is way too ove...
Actually, that isn't true. It really has nothing to do with the resolution. The resolution that *really* matters is texture resolution. While it is possible that texture resolution was reduced, there is no direct relation between image size (the size of the disk image) and rendering resolution. Rendering 20% less pixels does not really mean anything in terms of filesize.
How about everyone read the actual interview instead of guessing why he said that? Or bashing a game he never wrote (crysis 1)? The guy ha some good points, and I agree with them. While I'm not expecting Crysis 2 to have some amazingly original story I think I can expect a little more from him than I might other writers.
So if it's so obvious that they weren't going to publish it, why did it take half a year to come to that decision?
True, but even so their main reason is obviously piracy. They're still putting spin on it.
I'm pretty sure that there was a video about the features in each version from the developer, and how they were not the same. I'm pretty sure they don't look identical. If I can find it I'll post it.
Well, can't find the video but at least from this article: http://www.thesixthaxis.com...
There is a quote from a guy who works at Crytek: “If the game’s shader-heavy it runs a...
Well, the thing I don't understand is this: "We have made the decision to protect the integrity of the console and whilst mindful of the impact on Linux or other operating system users we nevertheless felt it would be in the best interests of the majority of users to pursue this course of action."
Why is this in the best interests of the users? I mean, okay, you removed a feature to protect yourselves, there's no need to spin it so it looks like you've done us a favour....
You've clearly never met a zombie.. lets not be prejudiced.
And thats exactly what the law is, you only get in trouble if you are caught pirating material. The guy being quoted misunderstood the law.
This interpretation of the law is inaccurate. The guy being quoted doesn't understand the law. There are many businesses that offer a service where they modify your console. Perfectly legal, and you can perform the service yourself as well. It's that modifying your console with the intent to commit copyright infringement that is the problem. However, modifying your console does not prove anything about intent to infringe copyrights so you are safe. It's only if you are caught with pirated mat...
No, it isn't even illegal to modify consoles as a business. It's illegal to sell pirated material and that is the entire reason the guy got busted! There are plenty of places, retail or online, that offer this service and have been for years. I mean, the place I go to is called Global Mods! It's not like it isn't obvious.
Whether it is illegal or not to sell an already modded console, I'm not sure. But there is certainly nothing illegal modding consoles as a service.
After just finishing FFXIII, maybe 30 minutes ago I really don't know what they are doing either.. what a terrible game. I knew the story was going to be garbage, but I was hoping the combat would be good. It isn't, and honestly I am surprised because FFX's combat system was pretty good. This game is far from what you'd expect from an RPG, and while that may be enticing to some, I think a lot of FF fans will be disappointed.
I'm hoping Versus will be far better, as it is by a di...
The problem isn't that they are trying to protect themselves, its that they are doing it at the expense of the consumer. That should never happen. I'm not saying this because I want linux on my PS3, I've never used it and I never will, but I can't agree to punishing legitimate users. That's what DRM does, and I'm sorry but there is no way in hell I will support DRM that punishes users either.
I think its safe to ignore this site from now on.. N4G needs to implement a feature where you can ignore articles from specific sites.
Masochists rejoice everywhere.
Is your game on the Atari 2600, Cox? No? Your game won't redefine third person action games either!
Apparently you are, because if you think thats a fine way to go about doing things then you must *love* DRM. Because that is EXACTLY the same thing.
Yeah its hardly unfair. And it isn't a monopoly, either, there are other services that offer the same games. Steam is just the most popular. I stick with steam because they usually have ridiculous sales. Not 10% off like crappy retail stores will give you, but 25-75% off. Boxing day sales are ridiculous. I like the steam client too, while it does use more resources, at this point of PC performance I don't think you'd see a change in framerate. It's very handy, especially the in-game community...
wtf, fun = phone, I must have been drunk lol
The website is retarded.. I see nothing wrong with saying your game exceeds <insert game with pretty graphics here>. Nor do I see anything wrong with bashing Halo's characters. No, the biggest troll in this case is this website (which apparently is incapable of spelling or using a spell-check).
