Some stores are trying to pass it off for 69.99 here in Canada, but there are still some stores selling for 59.99. The annoying part is that our dollar is on par with the US, so there's absolutely no reason for this. Not to mention a standard PC game should be 49.99 like you said, PC games shouldn't be at the same price as console games. There's no license fees so there's no excuse.
Don't kid yourself, fanboys are rabbid no matter which side they're on.
The people disagreeing are only proving my point even further.
360 is in 2nd place, you may have heard of the casual wonder console, the Wii?
Also, please explain how you win anything if your favourite console is beating another? Do you work for the Xbox division of MS?
I know, it would suck if other people who owned something other than a 360 got to play it! /sarcasm
You have no idea what a community really is, do you?
These types of people exist on PC and PSN as well, but I'd say in less numbers. Not everyone has a headset for PS3 as it doesn't come bundled, and on PC I hear a lot less little kids. But there are probably just as many jackasses.
Doesn't work like that. It's not a linear degradation of performance, if you lowered the resolution by 50% you'd gain a lot more than 50% performance increase.
The only problem with 3d is how expensive it is to get a TV that supports it and the glasses to view it. But it is cool that Sony is adding that feature to older games as well as new ones. Honestly I will skip 3D until we can do it effectively without glasses or other peripherals like that.
Motorstorm was a launch title, so of course it won't run easily at 720p. They aren't going to make any major changes to the engine to be more efficient. And wipeout will still run at 720p, which is not sub-hd. I have 0 issues with games running at sub-hd, but it gets annoying when people call AW an uncharted 2 killer for graphics when its clearly not at the same level. That's why people are bashing AW.
I don't know if that's true, there's only been rumours and no confirmation. But it is true that he hasn't been around for VO's I guess. That sucks :( Apparently he also did Father Grigori from HL2 and the old Fisherman in Lost Coast.
I was under the impression that this has been around for a while, at least with ATI cards. I think it was called Adaptive AA. Worked really well, especially with foliage and chainlink fences.
Correction: "DLC is extremely short and there's better free content. The DLC sucks."
Thanks for trying.
DLC is honestly pretty lame. There are far better and longer custom campaigns, I'm amazed this took them 5 months. And killing off one of the L4D1 characters was a bad idea, as now we won't see any future games with those 4 as playable characters. They should have just killed Rochelle off since she's just an annoyance.
I feel bad for those who paid for this, but I guess it's not Valve's call on that one.
Eh, just buy 2 of everything, problem solved :P Sure that might get a bit expensive but I think it's worth it in the end.
I'll stick with my PSP 2000. Mainly because I can play PSX games and other emu's on the go :D But honestly I would have seriously considered a PSP Go if it had 2 thumbsticks and a UMD drive (or at least some way to transfer games I own to the Go).
Well, part of the reason is that some games deliberately put data on certain areas of the DVD to decrease load times, but when it is installed on a harddrive, it no longer matters. It sucks but I mean it's nice to not need a disc to play.
Didn't it already have pretty long load times? I imagine that's a non-issue on the new engine.
Ew, eternal sonata? Sorry but I'll pass on that.. I'm enjoying SO4 personally. Combat is great.
It really doesn't, I'd say there is 1 good JRPG exclusive for the 360 (if we're talking this generation). That would be Lost Odyssey. Although, this generation kind of sucks all around for JRPGs, PS1 and PS2 were the golden age of jRPGs :p
On top of those I wouldn't mind if sony made the PS3 a little more media player friendly, like add support for MKV and SSA/ASS subtitles, and a few other codecs they may be missing. Wouldn't need to transcode using PS3 media server that way. They might have to support NTFS as well for the larger files. Also would be nice to see menu items in the XMB/PSN store load faster.
As for games, I'd like to see some Coop in the next Killzone, and some more jRPGs along the lines of Resonan...
