Because -
A) the fifty bucks we pay covers that development.
B) game developers earn a lot more than most people think (80,000 USD is the average annual wage)
C) games have been releasing this sort of shit as 'updates' for years. Anyone who suddenly wants to pay for something they've been getting for free for years is an idiot.
D) we aren't talking about the devs of hotline Miami. This is EA so even though some devs genuinely do suffer for thei...

No don't be so melodramatic. Yes there are people out there screwing the art form to get as much cash as possible but innovation will always sell. For example minecraft. The reality is one person is innovative and then that will get raped until someone else innovates. That's hardly a dying process.

They're kinda missing the point. We weren't upset the trailer was misleading, we were upset that the trailer was BETTER. Next time take the hint and follow some of the narrative conventions laid out in your bloody marketing because whoever wrote that deserves a bigger cut of the profits than the literary genius who scribed such wonderful characters as white douche, black douche, black douche with boobs, asian douche with boobs.

I actually liked the game but these guy...

Let the older generations die? Every single issue mentioned about games is just as bad. Hell modelling, acting, music, literature - people throughout all of these show some of the most lurid behaviours possible and that's before you enter the business side of it! Yeah games aren't perfect but even now they're airbrushing girls in hollywood posters to have bigger chests. Dead island features a torso and people go ape shit crazy.

Ubisoft have too much stake in what they release - WB would be better. They'll give them more room and let relic make the game. Ubisoft, however, want to be one of the big boys and that requires a carefully engineered empire. One gives relic space, one will be breathing down their neck. Not to mention that uplay DRM crap.

Frankly the whole debate is littered with confusion. It's not something that can be 'fixed' by conscious thought or action IMO because what that mostly results in is a brigade of feminism-defending guys with no balls to speak of who drown out the legitimate concerns of people with more than three brain cells. If they're not the ones barreling down on the situation then it's the cave men they're trying to disprove who thump their two inch dicks on the table like their p...

Right so these guys have eight studios and.... like how many products? I've just checked their catalog and it's five released. One of those is iOS. So let's look at their AAA titles. There's Crysis, Crysis Warhead, Crysis 2 and Far Cry.

Hm. Crysis, Crysis Warhead are basically the same. That's three. Crysis is basically the sequel to Far Cry that Ubisoft stiffed Crytek from developing. So you've got a company that has made a couple of good games where ...

I completely agree. It's a redundant product that's not interesting and is a pointless attempt by a news site to get hits. It's a lame tactic. In regards to KMCOCK54 - yeah a great way to keep the money you earn is to not blow it on useless crap. An essential component to NOT being poor I think you'll find.

I don't know - so long as its reported as a rumour and we all know I can support reporting of rumours that sound realistic. Not to mention Boston and MIT have been rumoured from a few more sources on multiple locations. It makes sense as its a big and unexplored part of the fallout bible.

People can get addicted to anything, everything needs to be taken into moderation... so on and so forth. Honestly, there's a pathology to addiction that goes way beyond the substance so it's pretty arbitrary to make distinctions based on the thing people are dependent upon. I can understand why games are in many senses addictive but I'd hardly call it a pandemic - it's like you sit and play a game for so long you feel the need to shit yourself and let your muscles atrophy... I...

Far cry 3's a good game, and Vaas is expertly acted but I found the story so embarrassing it actually made it very hard for me to keep playing despite loving the core gameplay so much. I imagine what I'd have to say makes far cry 3's writing so salient is that it's terrible compared to everything else. Voice acting and script is good but how they're used in the plot is just.... I mean the way you kill Vaas is rubbish, the player character is abysmal, as are all of his frie...

Somebody did this using a height map from NASA but it was on the old height restraint. Taking the highest point and calling it all relative this made London a couple of blocks in width and America a sizeable forest big enough to get lost in (but in no way a continent). However double the height means double the width so why not just take that and do it?

He can't be doing it brick by brick? Surely?

Yes it's stupid, yes they're stupid - I wouldn't bother writing any more on it. I doubt they'll be reading an article defending video-games any more than I'd be reading an article telling me they're evil. No one's changing any body's mind and all I can say is just let natural selection take its course. I'm sure these cretins will eventually exterminate themselves through a variety of comedic and astoundingly moronic accidents - one of which might ironically...

What are you on about completely fallen? They made one shit game - do you have any idea how industry works? Companies would crash and burn if they changed direction every time a product didn't go their way. Crytek have made three games, far cry, crysis and crysis 2 and it amazes me they themselves are so astoundingly short sighted as to feature a shifting tone between crysis and crysis 2 - now everyone wants them to keep that process up eh?

Crysis was brilliant and far cr...

Yeah at least CoD is a product and not a total scam. This is like comparing one of those rip off films like battle of Los Angeles or alien vs hunter to an actual AAA blockbuster like jack reacher. No matter what you're opinions are on the latter the former is still the absolute worst.

I think news should be an obvious part of the marketing. Withdrawing it suggests stupidity or tactical thinking so I can not thoroughly support this guy here. Chances are it might make sense to sit aside and actually have a game to show. CGI trailers are cute but dead island pissed all that good will away a while ago. We need gameplay and I want it but I want it to be good. There's nothing wrong with slinking away and tinkering with your product until its awesome. Look at valve and you...

To anyone interested if you want to leave a formal complaint to the sun and it's staff just leave a voicemail on your answer phone. They'll find it.

They can spout whatever they want but I think it's time game journalism moved on from this topic. Is such retard fodder even worth criticising? It feels like mocking the learning impaired but I feel even worse for comparing people with such severely impaired brains and thinking abilities with people who have down synd...
