@GerandShooter
Yeah when I'm on N4G I'm not much of a grammar diplomat. Heh.
Anyway, to be honest I prefer console gaming over PC gaming but given the disparity in the selection of real core games on the consoles as of late, I've been relegated to PC titles for now.
I like core gaming, it's just my preference. Just like 20 million people like casually gaming on CoD.
However, core gaming on consoles doesn'...
All the pirates I've seen talking about the game said they weren't buying it in the first place. So what does that tell CD Projekt?
I gave you bubbles because you listed complex, seriously hardcore games that aren't on consoles and mentioned that consoles don't have any games equivalent to it and you're right.
Not one person who disagreed with you could name A SINGLE GAME that compared to your list in complexity and difficulty.
I'll take it one step further: Console games today are made for people with low attention spans and low intelligence quotas. Remember back when the...
LOL two commenters just below you say the exact opposite. You must be over 18 and they must be under 18.
The only people who actually liked SC: Conviction were those who didn't really dig stealth-action games in the first place. If you go from playing the best in the series (Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory) to playing the newest in the series (Splinter Cell: Conviction) you'll find that you can breeze through Conviction with ease but you'll end up throwing the contro...
RedDeadDestroyer, AmazingBrain is right: RE5 was really dumbed down for the CoD kiddies.
It was identical to Resident Evil 4 in gameplay (how could it switch genres if it's built ontop of the EXACT same mechanics?) they just made RE5 so freaking easy and predictable it was laughable. In fact, they didn't change anything from RE4 except for the menus and quick-switching and made it where there were no surprises just waves after waves of baddies to shoot. It doesn'...
PC version of Just Cause 2 had wet clothing, and water sampling effects over clothing textures.
Also, Project CARS for PC has a lot of people on YouTube who literally said "is that in-game or real-life?"
Don't believe me? Check out the YouTube videos and see for yourself.
I agree with cuRvv...BF4 would be a waste of Battlefield 3's potential. Plus it would give them proper time to excel and make the next great leap in tech between a re-release of BF3 and an official BF4.
Completely agreed. Current gen consoles couldn't even run the first STALKER without them having to remove a lot of its ecosystem due to RAM limitations...it would just be a mess.
Did GSC confirm that STALKER 2 is going to be on the 360/PS3? If so it'll probably be like Crysis 2 =(
If Stalker 2 is on PS3/360 it will be a dumbed down mess with all the memory limitations. I'd imagine the maps will have to be sectioned off and far less evolved, almost like Borderlands.
I agree with PCgamer4ever, I don't want a dumbed down PC port because of limited current gen consoles. I'd rather they go all out for next-gen consoles instead.
I understand your point, however, I must respectfully disagree.
Content compression on the 360 is starting to affect PS3 and PC gamers (i.e., the low texture sources for RAGE were already pre-compressed and scaled for the 360 even though the game was still on multiple discs).
It's also starting to affect development times...companies claiming they're putting "extra polish" (and who hasn't heard this alot during the last two years?) are ...
Sorry to say, Ace but multiplats are the majority of game releases these days.
With the exception of a few digital and big-budget exclusives both systems are on par. The only game that stands out on the PS3 compared to anything on the 360 is the Uncharted franchise...everything else boils down to gameplay preference.
Now the differences between a PS3, Xbox 360 and PC are huge. Anyone saying those are comparable are just delusional.
Agreed.
From a development point of view the creativity of the 360 is peaked for core games. If you want innovative indie titles it's still good (i.e., Limbo, Dungeon Defenders).
But let's be honest, we all want to completely level cities in games like Battlefield 4 or walk into every building in a game like GTA VI and THAT is not going to happen on an Xbox 360. A lot of fanboys hate to think that their console is dated but gaming wise most of 2012 w...
Next gen for sure. If they weren't working on a new engine already they're already dated if the new consoles arrive in 2013. Even if they started work on a new engine now it wouldn't be ready or polished in time for a 2013 launch. They would have had to have started back in 2010 but as indicated in that damaging tweet by Bowling, Activision didn't want to put money into a new engine.
You're absolutely right in that CoD will not falter this gen. It's go...
Yeah apparently they never seen some of the ads in Timesquare...makes that cover art look like a colorbook project for Little Timmy.
Shift 2 had some huge physics issues especially with the turning. It's like they couldn't decide if they wanted it to be a sim or an arcade racer and I found myself quickly disliking the game after "figuring" out the turning mechanics.
Compared to iRacing and other sim-oriented racers Shift 2 was a real let-down.
Dude, don't put those kind of thoughts in my head...I'll be up all night drooling about some of the dream cars I could customize with full AT, AA, MSAA and DX11 support on XFired AMD cards...*drools*
Dude, you just got trolled.
He wasn't even trying to make a half-way sensible comment or contribute to the discussion.
No point leaving a rebuttal...there's a reason this chap only has two bubbles...moving on, nothing else to see here.
I liked Hitman because it was thought provoking...you didn't run and gun and it wasn't linear or streamlined like other shooters.
From what I've seen of Absolution it seems to aim for the Splinter Cell: Conviction crowd (mainly teenage boys). They don't have the patience, wits or smarts and IO seems to be adapting Hitman to this lesser audience (hence why the original voice actor was replaced with someone younger and more hip.)
I fear those o...
"Weak justification" still doesn't transmutate into sales if you remove piracy from the equation.
Digital sales ARE NOT affected by piracy despite popular belief that they are.
Digitally the game never collects dust and never takes up room on a warehouse.
Most people who pirate do so because they're getting it for free so if the option wasn't there to get it for free what makes you think they would magically fork over $5...
