Don't you mean gamers with a license to blog?

Journalists usually have an ounce of integrity...well, all the ones that aren't on Fox News.

No FuzzyPants, the story was muddled with ridiculous personal crusades that didn't make sense. The over-dramatization and constant prattle about the various states of undeadedness was just ridiculous.

In some context you could say the overall plot wasn't too confusing (but then again doesn't everything in any plot break down to the proverbial good vs evil or lesser evil vs greater evil?) but the storytelling was just horrible and drawn out.

I gu...

To be fair, the only time major sites diss on a game is when it's not hailed as the second coming.

It was "cool" for sites to diss on Duke Nukem Forever because the development cycle was a joke in itself and the low scores actually fuelled publicity.

But for every other "AAA" game out there it's next to nigh impossible for them to turn up with low-scores, otherwise someone gets fired for doing their job *cough*Gertsmann*cough*.

Dude, really, causality does not equate to maturity. They're two completely different things, even when applied to fictional story arcs.

George W. Bush was the United States President, but that did not make him mature. He almost died on a pretzel for crying out loud.

Sorry to say but I get 100x more content out of Baldur's Gate and the original X-Com than I do out of any recent RPG that isn't made by Bethesda.

I understand that artists aren't cheap but resources still are. You can use your phone to take a snapshot of a wall or a shirt and use it for a texture. It just means getting creative about how you acquire assets and a lot of times people spend more than they have to to grab assets.

Look at the Euclideon Engine for example, that there would cut costs down drastically because you could just laser sample in environments and standard textures/models like houses/buildings as ...

Dude you're assuming next-gen requires more resources. Why would they? Unreal Engine 3 can already produce Samaritan quality graphics in real-time, the HARDWARE is where the problem lies.

A lot of you console gamers are paying $60 for gimped ports where three to six months of development isn't even spent on content or quality but on optimizing the game to run less than what it should.

Look at games like Hard Reset and Duke Nukem Reloaded...these are ...

Dude you're one of those louses who buy into the whole Activision/EA PR bullcrap.

You probably also think it costs Activision $100 million to produce Modern Warfare 3, eh?

Ugh, gamers can be so stupid sometimes. You do know that they cut out mod tools because a handful of talented modders and voice actors could have churned out MW3 in the same time-frame using mod tools, at less than a fraction of the costs?

I hate to say it but many game...

I agree with that assessment. Unfortunately that's just how it is for some of us. =(

That's sort of a cop-out comment. It's like saying "You haven't seen the latest Twilight movie and even though you've heard and read things about it that makes it seem like something you wouldn't like, it's still a good movie."

All right, that's fair enough that I haven't played the game thoroughly. But my reservations about the game come in the form of the game's inadequacies compared to recent MMOs. For instance, if I read the f...

I was going to say the same thing he did. I'm sorry but someone has to have too much time on their hands to even come up with a way to make this happen. I mean....where do you even start?

Might wanna remove GRO from your list, man.

Did you hear what Ubisoft said about that game? It's basically a stripped down, F2P version of Future Soldier because they know people will just pirate it. It's the reason why Future Solder was cancelled for PC. Basically it's a big "F U" to PC gamers and since it's F2P with a cash shop Ubisoft knows they'll make money regardless.

Doesn't matter what they add to Ghost Recon Online...

You hit the nail on the head. Choice.

I don't even bother with games that don't have gun customization or a large cache of guns because, hey I LOVE GUNS!

Borderlands was my cup of tea for that very reason. I have so many different shotguns just for different purposes, one even works as a grenade launcher (it shoots rockets on a slope). I love western rifles and I also love assault rifles, and every once in a while I like to snipe.

The...

So we're praising a game for not having a common feature that's present in any MMO made after 2009? Are they serious?

Really, someone needs to explain to me where the $100 million went on this game. All I keep hearing about are the voice actors but at every turn nothing about this game screams up-to-date, current or innovative. Heck, Age of Conan had some pretty good voice acting at the start of the game so it's not like it's new to MMOs.

Nice comment, bubbles to you.

I don't know why there is so much hate for Forza 4 on N4G, is it because it's a 360 exclusive?

While aspects of the visuals of GT5 are better than Forza 4, it's the sounds and livery that really do it for me. Man, I get turned to jelly when I hear the muscle cars thunder across the track...if you're just a console fanboy you won't understand but if you're a real car enthusiast then you will.

Yeah but too bad they didn't spend the money on innovating the genre instead of paying all those people to talk into microphones. It makes the genre look stupid that a $200 million dollar game plays like something from 2004.

Vindictus just poops all over SW:TOR when it comes to gameplay, especially considering that SW:TOR is using mechanics from 2004.

But I guess Star Wars fans would prefer to have a lot of voice overs as opposed to an up-to-date MMO.

Halo 1 was the best out of the whole series. The campaign is infectious and addictive. I didn't really like the campaign of Halo 2 that much and the only reason one would consider it the best is because of the multiplayer.

However, like you said, Halo 1 is still the better game in my opinion.

Sorry but after 1999 only fake gamers have been churned out.

You can try to go back and earn your Real Gamer Passport by getting knee deep in some old titles like Ken's Labyrinth or Hugo's House of Horrors 3D, but it's not easy and a lot of new-school gamers lost their eyesight in the process.

I suggest you head to Cheat Central, buy some sunglasses and cheat your way through old titles like FBI Fred and Commander Keen to earn your Badge of Old-...

It's cheap enough (or free enough) to play from just about anywhere, even as a PSX ISO.

If you don't like RPG micromanagement/macromanagemen t then you won't like X-Com. It's a niche game to say the least but it's extremely detail oriented and gave gamers TONS of content and control over just about every aspect of the game.

In other words, if you don't like hand-holding games like CoD or that upcoming XCOM game from 2K Marin, then yo...
