Nope, I'm not interested in the 2K version at all. If I want a story driven shooter I got BioShock: Infinite to look forward to. If I want a micromanagement RPG shooter I got STALKER 2 to look forward to. If I want to fight aliens and have teammates cover my arse I got Borderlands 2 to look forward to.

Realistically, there IS NO REASON at all to get excited about 2K Marin's XCOM abombination. It's a clustermuck of other ideas from better made shooters combined int...

Dude they mean REAL old-school gamers, not you kids from the PS2 era.

We're talking the dinosaur era of PC and console gaming when Final Fantasy games were mis-numbered here in the US and stuff like "All your base are belong to us" was common in localized ports. This was back when 16meg on a console meant a crappy looking 256 color game while 16meg on PC meant you got something like Tie-Fighter.

Real old-school....for life.

Turn based is good. I can't wait.

They can still do things to keep the turn-based aspect interesting.

I was recently playing X-Com Apocalypse and it still carries its own to this very day. Again, I can't wait. I just hope they keep the destructibility and micro/macromanagement.

I gotta admit that WWE 12 was a pretty awesome step up from WWE 11, if you play both you'll definitely notice the differences, especially when it comes to animation transitions and just how smooth the pace of a match can go. It's awesome.

At least THQ tries to go for something big each year and I've enjoyed each game each time out, more-so than what I can say for Activision and Call of Duty, where each year they either remove something from the previous version o...

Mentioning Sheamus and Kratos in the same sentence actually throws wild thoughts through the brain...like maybe Sheamus playing Kratos in the live-action version of the movie. Haha.

46% of casual games such as checkers, chess, Bejeweled and other games like that.

Just wanted to clarify.

Well, the game doesn't look fantastic but it's another one of those titles that proves you don't need $100 million just to make a simple horror-survival title.

I'd like to see what the guy can do on a medium budget.

Nah, Gamestrailers will say it's a game worth subscribing to just because it's BioWare/EA.

Has any big gaming site ever told their readers NOT to buy a game? Last time I remember that happened someone at GameSpot got fired.

The custom car mods alone sometimes make me all giddy inside. It's like scoping out cars from Forza/Gran Turismo (well, some of the cars are from Forza/Gran Turismo so that's one explanation).

I can't wait to see what the modders do for GTA V...I get the feeling that it's going to be even bigger in the modding community than GTA IV.

Because it was a unique game in its own flavor.

The reason Alan Wake stood out as a sleeper hit and not a blockbuster hit was because it wasn't just another blockbuster, run-and-gun, Michael Bay 'Splosions(TM) shooter.

It is sad that if a game doesn't instantly sell 10 million it's considered a flop and must be Call of Duty-rized to appeal to the frothy-mouthed 14-year-old CoD fanboys.

I completely agree.

Without the Star Wars license it's basically KOTOR/Mass Effect with ancient MMO gameplay mechanics.

A lot of BioWare fanboys will come to this game's defense but they obviously haven't played an MMO in the last five years or so.

Vindictus just poops all over SW: TOR and it's free-to-play. Not to mention that game runs like milky smooth butter on old machines and even has drop-dead gorgeous graphics on th...

I glanced over this story and it seems stupid and kind of pointless. Is there some enlightening moral at the end of this tale where I should go back and thoroughly read through it or did I spare myself a text-fart in which my brain would lose a few cells from the stench of fail?

Hmm, suddenly the appeal to play this game has lessened greatly.

I guess they're trying to appeal to the RE5 kind of gamer, not the RE1-3 kind of gamer.

5146d ago 12 agree6 disagreeView comment

Totally agreed.

Graphics do play a big factor in gameplay, which is why alot of people were looking forward to Battlefield 3.

I just hope MS and Sony don't copout and give us systems with at least 4GB of RAM so we can have streets fully littered with debris.

Just Cause 2 was fun for a little while just until everytime something blew up it faded away in like 3.2 seconds.

I did and a lot of other gamers I know did, too. By the end of 2010 PC gaming parts started getting really cheap and throughout 2011 they became absolutely dirt cheap.

It's hard to game on consoles now when there's a multiplatform title, the visual gap is pretty big now.

There's no need for a "Do Gaming Journalists Matter?" article because we all know -- everyone knows -- gaming journalists could go away and it wouldn't affect the industry in the slightest.

Review scores and sales seem to be mutually exclusive a lot of times (i.e,. Enslaved Odyssey to the West, Dark Souls, etc.,) and it's not like journalists influence the popularity of a game into mainstream one way or another.

The one thankless, piti...

Anything from Suda51 really...that guy is toilet humor to the T.

Just make sure you close the door, dim the lights, and let your cheeks turn as red as they want while you play any of his games.

Not everyone likes shooters and I can understand. We have so many of them flooding the market right now it's hard to convince some people (even myself sometimes) that another sci-fi/modern-day/misc shooter is still worth the time or effort.

That's not to mention that many of these games aren't really labors of love (like Limbo or Bastion) most of them are for paychecks and it shows in the trailers, the dev docs and the gameplay.

So if it's a...

Dude, the trailer was all in-engine and if it has to run on the 360/PS3 it won't look better than what we seen. If you play GTA IV on the 360/PS3 and play it on PC you'll know exactly what I'm talking about in regards to the graphics fidelity issue that GTA V will face.

The hardware is more than six years old and games are being held back to accomodate the old GPUs and limited amounts of half-gigabyte RAM. It doesn't matter if it's a trailer or not, techn...
