Just like your comment.

Heh, you think anyone who says anything can inform without influence? There's really no such thing as objectivity without influence, but in this particular case Activision just received free publicity for a game EVERYONE knew was coming. They should have just rode out the free-marketing like a smart company.

There's no embargo for reporting on someone elses mistake.

If it's public news then it's fair game.

Dude really? Please.

That site is better off now, at least they earned respect for doing legit reporting.

You think they would have received half as many hits for a review of BLOPs 2 that 1000 other websites will have up the exact same time? Dude, don't kid yourself.

I never heard of this site before this incident so what does that really tell you about how "great" the relationship was between them and Activision? It obvi...

Yeap, I'm sure Gameblog lied about the Black Ops 2 thing, too...just for hits. Amazon apparently didn't really goof and slip up...they just photoshopped the screenshot.

Activision went through the trouble of a damage control PR release just because people believed a no-name French blog site.

Yeap, it's the interwebz...obviously Activision paying a PR firm to do damage control based on a no-name blog's lie is completely and entirely legit....

I agree with you deep fried bum cake.

@Baka, totally agreed.

Not to mention that the VGAs has so much marketing behind it that it's impossible NOT to know those awful shows exist given that they're all over gaming websites about a month leading up to them. Utter rubbish, though.

I'm sorry but Far Cry 2 destroys Far Cry 3 in the graphics department. The third game looks like a step back from the second game....assuming you played Far Cry 2 on a high-end PC.

LP_Gamer is a child and a noob.

You are correct RIPSKATEDESTROY, the Golden Era of gaming is long gone and kids nowadays have to put up with always-on DRM, pre-release DLC that totals $870 and more corporate BS than a typical shareholder's meeting.

No gamers do not have it off good these days, especially kids. While there's a lot more accessibility there is far less creativity and originality in today's gaming sphere. Hence, why you and I and ma...

Haha, THIS MOVIE SOUNDS PERFECT.

They have the perfect directors and producers working on this.

Before clicking on the article I thought to myself "The guys who did Crank and the new Ghost Rider should direct the Twisted Metal movie, they would be perfect for this!" and lo and behold, the studio got it right!

I can actually say I'm excited for this movie. Gamer may have sucked badly but Taylor and crew at least know how to direct ...

Seems like Game Informer still manages to throw a few curveballs our way, something the internet community has yet to do. Especially leading up to their big cover reveal of the X-Com remake.

Completely agreed.

Have you noticed the people complaining most about used games make the crappiest games?

I wonder how many people traded in Skyrim or Demon Souls? I wonder how many people traded in Far Cry 2 or the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4? I wonder how many people traded in Uncharted 3 or LittleBigPlanet 2? Or how many people traded in Forza 4 or Gran Turismo 5?

One dev made a good point saying that if your game is good pe...

Man this looks so nice.

There were a few screenshots that actually had me questioning if it was real or not...now THAT is photorealism.

I never heard of this game before today.

Nintendo needs to readjust their marketing tactics.

Unfortunately EA and Activi$ion will still cash in on today's gaming machines with annual outings of Madden and Call of Duty, prancing around with $1 billion and complaining about used game sales and how online play needs an additional $20 surcharge.

I agree with you that the industry as a whole is suffering because of a lot of people's greed. Thankfully Nintendo is actually in the running to do something different so we'll see how the Wii U turns out.

@angels, um yes a lot of PC gamers do have 1 GTX 580, Intel i5 and 4GB of RAM.

You can get a bare-bones PC from a few places like pricewatch with a top of the line CPU/Mobo combo for under $250.

I have a mid-ranged PC and it's sporting Crossfire cards with 6GB of RAM and an OC'd quad-core CPU @ 3.66ghz and this PC is old. I was able to get this all for under $350.

Completely agree, Vortex.

Ubisoft mentioned one of the reasons Splinter Cell Conviction wasn't on PS3 was because of the advanced AI, memory-sucking routines they were planning on using. Yet in the final game the AI in SC: Conviction were dumber than the ones in SC: Chaos Theory.

Later Ubisoft admitted that it's hard to "sell advanced AI" because it doesn't look good on a marketing sheet, hence why so many games have comatose NPCs.

Makes me think about Shao Khan from Shaolin Monks on the PS2/Xbox and then it makes me think abuot Shao Khan on Mortal Kombat II...now those were boss fights.

I'll toss in a few more...

Final Fantasy XII (despite what people say this was actually a decent game)

Gran Turismo 4 (you didn't need DLC to make this one feel "complete")

Tekken 5

Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution

Timesplitters: Future Perfect

Shadow of the Colossus

Max Payne 1 (even without mods and horrible load times this game was still highly replayable on PS2 ju...

I actually agree with you.

Not only that but why do these idiotic sites bash CoD all throughout the year and then turn around and give it a 9/10 and tell everyone to buy it? WTF is that?

5112d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

LOL

So you agree that companies need to keep making money after initial sales?

So basically, everytime someone buys a movie like Spider-Man and decides they don't want it anymore Sony needs to take a cut of the pie if someone gives or sells that used movie?

I don't think cutting out second-handed sales will help. Switchgames already provides devs with feedback from second, third and fourth-handed sales. If devs really want a cut-back ...
