It's interesting that PS3 didn't include HDMI cable and now it does. X360 Elite used to include HDMI cable and now it doesn't.
I don't think Sony sells Sony branded HDMI cable and since the cable is so cheap now, it costs nothing to include one. Great to advertise on the box it includes a HDMI cable that most buyers need.
Microsoft sells Microsoft branded HDMI cable and of course, they want to sell the HDMI cable.
But for reta...
One thing about hype is the more incredible it tried to promote, the more the final product is not going to be like the hype when it comes out.
Gamers can be like little kids, easily get overly excited over hypes.
I prefer not to believe the hype because it is some of the most misleading marketing strategy. If the game is really good when it comes out, I let the game speaks for its quality. Why get so excited over a hype that is rarely the product?
I'm one of the few who like FF XIII style. I never completed any of the previous FF series on PS1 and PS2 because I always got lost exploring. FF XIII focus on a linear path is the only reason I enjoy and completed the game.
I never found towns added much to the game in the previous FF. Sure it's nice to be able wonder around in the town but there aren't many people you talked to really that have much conversation other than they said something.

It always amuses me why gamers who have to buy new games immediately either complain or surprised by game glitches and bugs.
It should be common sense long ago that if you don't want to "enjoy" the game with glitches, wait for at least several weeks before buying the game.
It is a standard practice to sell now and fix later. Why immediately pay the game publishers for a full price game to deal with the game glitches?
Well said. If you are going to own more than one console, it only makes sense to have both X360 and PS3 (and Wii). Then, it becomes "They Only Do Everything". Why stuck with "It Only Does Most Things?" There is no such thing as one game console does everything. That's the marketing hype and for fanboys to believe.
The funny part about fanboys of either console is many own more than one console. It's human nature, often have to take side. To many ga...
If you ended ME2 by having everyone died, how can the DLC story make any sense between ME2 and ME3? Didn't Bioware say if Shepard died in ME2, you can't import the saved game to ME3. Looks like post ME2 story DLC ignores if your saved game has dead Shepard.
Completely agree. DLC has become a standard practice now in cutting out contents to be sold later with excuses. There have been several games now that have the DLC on the same day of the game release, and many DLC are out in a few short weeks.
Game publishers know there are plenty of gamers who are willing to spend $60 on an incomplete game and then willing to spend more for the DLC.
It always amuses me to read those who can't wait and must buy the game i...
It's all depend how much you are willing to wait. To some gamers, it's all about getting all the possible contents as soon as possible.
For pre-order characters, you get them on the first day of the game release. For the Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack, 2K knows there are enough gamers that must have it quickly.
For the 2nd DLC, it's better deal for those who haven't bought any DLC.
The only way to get the best deal is wait for...
With AC3 coming out a year after AC2. Ubisoft didn't have enough time to complete developing AC2, is AC3 going to have some of the DNA memory sequences dropped? And AC3 is going to have multiplayer.
15 hours single player could be originally intended contents. We'll see what gets dropped after Ubisoft ran out of development time and have to release the game.
You forget Lost Planet 2. Even the game was in development, Capcom used the excuse of X360 DVD disc doesn't have enough space and removed some of the contents to be sold as DLC. They didn't want to say why they can't include all the contents on PS3 Blu-ray disc.
Lost Planet 2 DLC is already available immediately as the game came out.
It seems there are more games now have DLC on the same day as the game comes out.
The bottomline i...
"First Time Buyer" really means "First Game Player" because once the token code is activated, it's locked to the Gamertag and anyone else in your house also playing the game on their own Gamertag don't have access to the DLC.
The most extreme case is Bad Company 2 where not only the VIP map packs are locked to the Gamertag, it's also locked to EA's account.
Why do people keep their credit card number on PSN account? It's better to take a few minutes each time to reenter the credit card number if you need to buy or pre-load the account.
Also don't put your real billing address on the PSN profile. Makes it harder for the hacker.
Sometimes it's better to buy PSN cards since there will never be any credit card number or billing address stored on the PSN account. More work but safer.
It's time for Nintendo to start double-dip releasing controllers. First make controllers that have missing much needed functionality. Wiimote needs MotionPlus to provide true accuracy. Classic controller needs palm holder. Wait and Nintendo will release an upgraded Wiimote with built-in MotionPlus.
Good way to make money with double-dipping.
There is a way to "share" downloaded game like arcade or DLC on XBL. Any gamertag can play the downloaded game or DLC on the 1st X360 console that downloaded them. So, two X360 consoles can play the downloaded game or DLC at the same time. It's not a true downloaded game or DLC sharing like PSN except if you are playing Bad Company 2 VIP DLC map packs which are not sharable by more than one PSN ID.
EA probably like Jaffe doesn't like PSN giving the gamers capability to ...
EA has changed the DLC sharing on PS3 by linking the VIP DLC map packs to the PSN ID similar to X360 Live DLC.
I don't know if this is a well known until you login as different PSN ID and unable to use any of the map packs from another PSN ID.
In the earlier design, Miranda was blonde.
That is what Sony is betting because not everyone can hold out not updating to firmware 3.21 if they want to play online games.
It's like how long you can keep breathing the old air locked in the room before you have to come out for a fresh air.
That's the power of forced update with electronics today. You don't want to update, eventually, your electronics become incompatible with new games and Blu-ray movies even you don't want play online multiplayer games.
...
That used to work until today when Sony "fixed" the PSN side to prevent firmware bypass.
Firmware supporters, wait until Sony disables some features that you truly care and let's see if you still say the same about supporting Sony.
Like most things, until you are effected, you usually don't care.
While I agree that single player games should stay single player for sequel but too many gamers today complain about not enough replay value if there is no multiplayer.
I do enjoy BS2 multiplayer because it's simple and short. It's nice to play a few quick matches without spending a lot of time.
