I'd be happy if they could just fix their store, I'd be happy. Scrolling through the Vita's storefront, you have games mispelled, PS1 games in the wrong category, and PS Mobile games are just impossible to find.
Spell the game's name correctly and put them in alphabetical order. How hard can it be?

I think The Last of Us should have been a PS3 launch title. Games will come out when they're ready. You can't magically make them appear.

As for The Order, the sense that I get is that it is a narrative, story driven shooter that plays out over the course of the game. I don't think someone standing at a noisy, crowded demo booth and playing it for five minutes is going to get the game at all.

It also doesn't help that they've only demoed t...

And they look like they will go pretty well together. I'm looking forward to seeing it up on a big screen (or a Vita screen. I'm not picky)

Wow. There are a bunch of games I'm really looking forward to in October. Freedom Wars, Race the Sun, Minecraft (hopefully), and I'm really interested in Run Sackboy Run. It's just such a bizarre game that came out of nowhere.

Oh, and of course there's the PSTV. I may be just a wee bit excited for that. I've got a spot all ready for it with a 32gb card loaded and waiting to go. I'm just so glad that I don't live in Europe and have to wait until Nov...

Reason 6: It can play the media files the PS4 can't. MP3, MP4, YouTube, video streaming from a PC work on the PSTV but not on the PS4.

Or if you just want to watch some Netflix, the PSTV is a quieter option than either the PS3 or PS4. (my PS4's fan can get really loud at times).

The PS4 touchpad can be used on the PSTV. It brings up a cursor on the screen which you can then control with the DS4.

Otherwise what you do is click the L3 button to bring up the cursor. R3 brings up the cursor for the rear touchpad (I think). But I think that games which rely on both the touch screens won't work on the PSTV.

The new firmware update should make the non-Japanese accounts work. Give it a try.

Disappointing they didn't feature the Vita more. But it's great to hear that sales in the UK are doing better year over year.

With Vita/PSP games, you can have them installed on two systems at the same time. I'm guessing that the PSTV will be counted as a Vita/portable. So it would count as one of those installs.

PS1 games can be installed on two consoles (PS3) and two portables at the same time. You get a little more flexibility with them.

As for having 2 accounts at the same time, it doesn't work. If you had Killzone Mercenary on two systems, only one of them could play on...

The PS+ games should carry over. Sony has offered over 15 compatible games over the last 7 months alone, so hopefully you grabbed them all.

If it supports the same features as the Vita then you'll be able to use into play your own music, movies, and photos locally while also being able to stream content from a Pc. This is in addition to the Netflix, Hulu, or YouTube apps.

They shouldn't have released it first in Japan. The gaming culture there has changed so much that a console like this doesn't stand a chance. They did it because TV streaming boxes hadn't taken off yet and they thought they could get a head start. But maybe there's a reason why those devices never took off. Maybe they don't sit in front of their TVs and consume content like the West does.

"PSTV now has the potential to compete with the ps4,"

EXACTLY! And for once Sony has a chance to not be playing catch up.

The video game market is going to change. Just as the music and movie industries change with the introduction of MP3s and streaming video. MP3s destroyed CDs. Streaming video is killing DVDs and Blu-ray discs. Neither of the new formats offer a higher quality product, but they do offer a more convenient way to consume the content...

Question: does the Vita allow for a video output so you could plug in via HDMI to your TV? Or even stream to a Smart TV?

No, it does not.

Funny you should talk about PS1 compatibility, because right now my kid is planted on the couch and plowing through the Spyro games on my PS3. Those games, while old, are still a ton of fun.

I think their marketing angle is going to be "Remote play!" It's the easiest, clearest message they can have. If you have a PS4, for $99 you can stream your game to any TV in the house. PS4 owners will already have the controller, so as far as remote play is concerned, it...

I think the reason for the re-branding is even simpler, and it's not because the word "vita" is toxic. It would only be toxic if people didn't like the Vita, but truth is, nobody (in the mass market) knows the thing even exists.

I think the reason for the re-branding is because the PSTV is not a Vita. The Vita is a a portable, handheld gaming console with a touch screen and cameras. The PSTV may share a lot of features with it, but its purpose is completely ...

This game definitely has me interested now. I have no idea what it's about, but it looks fun.

My favorite part is in the teaser trailer and the guy says "It's just the teaser trailer, so chill out" and a pop up then appears saying, "Let us know if you absolutely cannot chill out." The game seems to have a really good sense of humor and I'm looking forward to it.

I have a PS3, but I have the games for the Vita. I want to play the games on the TV and then seamlessly switch it back to the Vita.

The PS3 is great, but it's not nearly as convenient.

No. I want to play none of those games on the PlayStation TV. But I will play Dragon's Crown, Rayman Origins, and God of War.

I agree that Sony needs to let people know that the PSTV can do more than just be a PS4 Remote Play box, but the truth of the matter is that for the $99 price point they want to advertise, Remote Play is the best/easiest message they can deliver.

For $99 you get just the console. No controller or memory card. That's fine if you already have those things, but from a messaging standpoint it's tricky. However if you push Remote Play, then people will have everything righ...
