Evolve is going to join the long list of games that demos really well at conventions and will get pretty good reviews. However, when it's released into the wild, it will fall flat pretty fast.
It's Titanfall all over again. Games that rely on the multiplayer as the soul of the game usually don't do all that well. Evolve seems great if you have a group of friends getting together for an evening of fun, but what about all the other times when it's just you?
Someone please help me understand this. This article is stating that after the DriveClub PS+ edition was announced, people went out in droves to spend $50 for a PS+ subscription to get a free game? Am I reading that right?
I think DriveClub has some issues that they did not know about until it launched. I don't think they intentionally sent a product out to fail. Just as I'm sure EA didn't know how badly Battlefield was broken before it launched.
This problem is still a problem for me. I've tried everything and nothing works. It will not wake up from rest mode. Aside from that though, everything else seems to work just fine.
It's not a huge problem for me, but it would be nice if it would get fixed. Standby mode was working just fine the way it was so I'm not sure why they felt the need to change it.
If I had to guess, I'd say there's a bug in their code for when it tries to connect. When you're connected, it's fine. But when you're not it constantly pings the servers trying to get in. That constant pinging is basically acting as a Denial of Service attack and preventing people from accessing the servers.
But that's just a crazy idea. I have no idea what is the actual cause.
"DriveClub PS+ Edition, meet The Last Guardian. You two are going to be roommates for quite awhile."
Whatever they did in FW 3.35, it drastically improved my remote play experience with the PSTV.
Games that I could barely play because of latency before are now perfectly playable. It does work better dropping the visual quality down, but even on the high setting, it works a lot better. It's still probably not good enough for a competitive FPS but for the games I tried, it was fine.
I'm on a wireless network with both devices and my router is a few years old (s...
OR they were giving out big AAA games for the PS3 because there were a ton of AAA games available when they started the IGC. The PS4 still only has a limited number of big games available, and most of those are still selling decently at retail.
I don't know why people were expecting AAA games for the PS4 in PS+. The fact that they were giving away ANY free games for the console was/is pretty amazing.
The draw distance isn't as good as on the PS3, but otherwise it works great. My daughter has been enjoying it to death.
I want a Killzone Mercenary PSTV that just has the glowing orange eyes on it. That would be great.
If you're playing Vita games, it's great. Games like Killzone and Senran are pretty awesome.
As for the missing apps, they're coming but just are not here yet. Sony knows this, which is probably why they're not pushing the device yet. My guess is they know what the problems are and are working to fix them before the European launch. That's just a feeling, but it would make sense.
I'm curious to see what gets changed or improved before it launches in Europe.
Remote play works really well with the Vita. With the PSTV, it has a problem streaming video at a decent rate. There has to be a software fix for this problem.
As for PS Now, this actually works pretty well on the PSTV.
The DS4 and its touchpad currently do work on the PSTV. But you need to activate them before it will work. Just hold down the PS button when using the DS4 and then check the box that enables the touchpad.
The problem with games like Uncharted and LBP is that heavily rely on the rear touchpad as well. Uncharted went overboard trying to use all the Vita's unique features since it was a launch title. The front touchscreen was used for rubbings and cleaning artifacts. The c...
The PS TV does not have certain media streaming apps at the moment, but that can be quickly corrected. Netflix, Hulu, and other apps are coming.
What Roku, FireTV and others can't do is suddenly have access to hundreds of high quality games. They can play some Android based games that were created for phones.
And let's not forget about PS Now which lets this device stream PS3 games, and it works really well. I don't think the AppleTV can do that. ...
All I'm saying is that you can't give a score to something that is constantly moving. Whether it's the PlayStation TV, the PS4, or the Xbox One. The PS4 is not the same system it was at launch and so the "score" they gave it a year ago is useless. But that doesn't mean they'll ever go back and change it.
I think with consoles, just tell people what it does and does not do. The PS TV has a lot of flaws at the moment, but it also has some tremendo...
After having the PSTV since Tuesday, and playing it extensively, I disagree with so many aspects of this article that it's amazing.
First, just like when the PS4/XB1 launched, assigning a numerical score to a constantly evolving machine is stupid. It doesn't have an app this week and so you ding its score. What happens when that app comes next week? Features will be added. Apps will come. So right now you can't give it a score. You can just say what it does.
I don't know what worse, the fact that somebody created the petition or the fact somebody decided to write about it.
Project Cars delayed? Why does this not surprise me at all? The game apparently still needs a lot of work.
It might be, but when it was released, its sales were always compared with the DS. When you compared the two, the PSP fell way behind. So the PSP was always viewed as being a failure.
But now, in hindsight, we can see that it actually did really well when judged on its own. This news really highlights the decline in the handheld market more than anything. It's kind of disappointing.
I think the one thing we can all agree on is that this explanation is total BS.
Share Play is not a feature of any game, it's a feature of the console. It's just like remote play. The game devs don't have to do anything for it. You can play Knack via Share Play and Studio Japan didn't have to test it with the 2.00 firmware.
And when companies make these obviously BS statements that anyone with a crumb of intelligence knows is a lie, it pisses ...
