If there is a company that really profit thanks to the EGS that company is definitely Ubisoft. They got money from Epic all while making their own platform look like the superior one.

Sure, but is not about it being a service that bothers me. Is about their model that I found to be utterly madness. You are paying for a pack of the game license and their service. However you only have access to those while the service is up and you have to pay for each license individually.

I do think streaming have a place in the industry. But not like that.

You don't own any game. You own a license, however with Steam or consoles you can download and store them, so if the servers go down one day, at least you have a security - well if some DRM don't get in the way.

With Stadia? You are paying the same price for the games/licenses, but once it go down they are gone.

Still think this a silly way to do streaming. Sure it's more reliable than a subscription model, especially for google as they get a cut of every sale instead of having to pay for the game be feature in their service.

But for the consumer is just madness. You don't own the games, sure the same could be said about digital and even physical media as they are only licenses. However you can at least stores them in some way.

Supposedly the devs of In the Valley of Gods are too busy trying to censor visual novels on Steam to work on the game.

I wish that it was true, but I doubt it as there was no movement or leaks coming from Sega Europe. And they are the team that would likely spearhead and develop such port.

It's weird but I feel it's more likely to see Sony porting over their first party catalog to the PC than Atlus developing anything for it. Even though the last is a third party and therefore would make more sense for them to put their eggs in more than one basket.

I'm talking about Blizzard official minimum requirements for WoW though. If you guys don't agree with it. Please feel free to send a email to Blizzard support service and explain why they are wrong to list those decade old parts and onboard graphics on their official page.

@Profchaos

Sure they had one big overhaul a couple of years ago that bump up the minimum requirements. That said the current on is still running on a decade old hardware. The PS4 can handle it for years to come at this pace.

It's WoW. A not particularly demanding title that runs on onboard Intel graphics and computers from a decade ago. And it's like that in order to allow the biggest number of people to play it if minimum investment.

So stand to reason that they would take the same approach for consoles and the PS4 have the biggest install base out there. It just make sense to target it and not his younger brother that might take years to reach those numbers.

Also it...

That is pretty much how picture that this game would ended up being. Rough around the edges, but a labor of passion nonetheless.

But a shame that they didn't use the feedback from the demo. The big and empty "dungeons" was one of the top complains if I recall correctly.

That is good. The Steam Controller is great for games that are normally not that good to be played on a controller. Aiming is much better with the touch pad than with a analog and the dual touch-pad make RTS and other management games much more playable.

However when it comes to other genres like third person action games or platformers. This controller is just bad. So having the option of swapping the touch pads to a simple cross shaped D-pad or another analog stick would...

Indeed It looks better than the DS4. With a little more "fat" to it and a more organic silhouette.

The only thing I don't like is the colour. It looks kind of "sterile" as if it's a medical appliance of some sort. But I am sure that they will offer it in other variations. So that is a non issue.

@Jin_Sakai

That is why I'm saying that this might change with games being made with the SSD in mind. BUT they have to prove that will be the case. As there is no precedent for a bump on SSD speed mattering for games after they left the old Sata standard behind.

2252d ago 15 agree3 disagreeView comment

Sure if there is not compromise on anything else. That is not the case here.

@NewMonday

The difference between a SSD and a HDD is clear as day. And there are already a couple of games that suffer tremendous when installed on a mechanical drive. Gujian 3 for example become a pop in festival.

However between SSDs there is very little gain even with huge speed differences. My computer for example features a 970 EVO (3500 MB/s) and a MP300 (1600 MB/s). That is a 120% speed difference but in games that is not noticeable. Even while usi...

On PC is pretty much the opposite a 100% of difference in SSD have little to no impact in games (hell, you can argue that even a 400% difference doesn't do much either). While a 17% difference in GPU is a huge deal and the difference between maximizing everything or not.

But with games beeing made with SSD in mind. That might change. So I'm waiting to see how it will play out.

I don't know if the trade was worth it. Yes, it runs at more or less locked 60 fps. But RE3 is not really a action focused game, so those extra fps while made the game more fluid don't have a big impact as far as gamaplay goes.

The ideal would be to let the player choose what the game should prioritize.

Normally is Clannad After Story that is highly praised. The first season is mostly use to set characters, backstories and the world. It does a alright job on setting those, but it's not amazing or anything.

Also, while the anime is a fine adaptation. It doesn't go deep enough in explaining how the world works. So unless you really pay attention to the first season, you might get confused by what happens in the second.

Very little. But this is likely in preparation to the XCloud service. And as @Obscure_Observer pointed out it might also encourage japanese developers to bring their games to the service. Because they wouldn't have to worry about the game selling or not.

What is sort of a big deal when you consider that Xbox unpopularity in japan is likely the biggest factor against porting anything to it.

I like the concept and that it is a departure from what Obsidian normally makes. But that narration really didn't work for me, it just felt lifeless.

The game being release as a Early Access is also a very interesting choice. I do think this format work for games that focus on building and crafting. And as it is going to be offered on Gamepass there really isn't a reason to not try it.
