I really want to see the Xbox One version running. Microsoft are normally masters of optimization, but Flight Simulator can make even the most powerful PC crawl.
I mean it would make sense. Psychonauts 2 is only coming to the PS4 to make good on the promises made to their "investor" and the PS5 was not a thing at that time.
Well it's already playable on a Xbox thanks to Retroarch. But being available through the Game Pass is more a matter of Square-Enix remaking it or at least remastering it for the current generation.
When paired with the Wii-mode the Wii U has the largest Virtual Console library of all Nintendo consoles and it also got a couple of digital versions of Wii games to download. And unofficially you can also run Gamecube and a plethora of other consoles.
Overall I would say that if you are in the market for a retro emulation console. The Wii U is a very solid option. It's not as good as the Series S/X for systems like the Saturn, Dreamcast and it can't run PS2. But ha...
I don't think the fact that BotW is a "masterpiece" justify the delay. Especially because as mentioned a lot of it was to kill features that were already implemented, but wouldn't work on the Switch. So as I said the delays may very well had made the game worse and we will never know.
FFXV as mentioned is an incomplete game. It went through development hell and that was the end result. It is not worth the wait and I would argue is to worth to play either....
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Final Fantasy XV.
I'm not so sure that I agree with those. The first is indeed very well regarded, but one of the reasons as to why it was delayed. Was to remove the Gamepad features in order to make it play better on the Switch. And as such it made the Wii U version worse and arguable the game as whole might have lost something with that change. While the second is a incomplete game that took way too long to be released and ...
If those leaked documents are anything to go by. Epic revenue from the Unreal Engine is already rather low. If they didn't support HDD it would be the same as leaving money on the table for crossgen titles and PC titles.
I never understood that argument. As Generations Ultimate was already a big success on the console with 4M units shipped and it likely costed a fraction of MHW to produce.
What I felt made sense to discuss was if Capcom would make the next Switch title something more akin to MHW or if they would keep the Generations style.
The service is a thing since 2014 and we are still waiting for it here in south america. I get the streaming aspect not being available as Sony don't have the infrastructure for it. But the PS4 download aspect could very well be available. Just like it work for Gamepas.
@ZwVw
Do you have the sales report of the original Gears? Because as far as I know that was never made public and being a GFWL's title there is no tracking for it. But in any case. Sales of the franchise probably didn't matter as at the time Microsoft PC output was completly wonkers. So much so that the next big PC release by Microsoft was Fable III almost 3 years after Gears of War original launch.
Also Gears 5 estimative sales on PC is between ...
A bit odd to be honest. I wonder if it's going to be a Gears of War 4 case, that didn't sold as well as other Microsoft titles and that was blamed on the lack of the previous games on the platform (PC only have the First Gears).
@littletad
The issue is not Xbox or Xbox 360 games though. But rather Xbox Series S/X native games that are sold with the Xbox One versions on the disc. As those games will not work out of the box either.
I do agree that as of right now is not a particulary big issue as the console is new and you need a internet connection to even make the first set up. However when it eventually become "retro" we might see some issues.
I mean I would like the free Stadia Controller. It's a pretty good controller from what I heard. Well as long as you don't need to repair it.
Basically the way the backward compatible games are managed right now require the user to connect to the internet at least once to make them playable offline. That is a issue for a number of reasons but mainly because, as most games are currently cross-gen (meaning they have the Xbox one version on the disc) a lot of them will simple not work out of the box without a internet connection.
So in the future if servers were down people wouldn't be able to activate any Xbox ...
A main issue with EGS is that while they are better for the developer/publisher they are not so much for the consumer. Because they will have to deal with a worst store, that don't offer the same features as Steam nor is even trying to do it.
And you have the risk for the future. Epic is trying to corner the market and is doing it with terrible practices and once they managed to have that market. What they can do is just pretty scary. After all we are talking about a c...
Honestly? I really want a new CRT monitor for retro games PC and emulators as well.
Unfortunately in my region they are much more difficult to find than a good CRT TV. Most of what is on the market falls into the "office" category. In other words, they are small (15") and normally cap at 60 hz.
Having Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3 as surprises is a bit weird given that they should be on their way to be released. But given Nintendo's silence surrounding both titles I can see why it would make the list.
On my side I really want a new IP or something in the veins of Kid Icarus 3DS. Meaning an old forgotten IP being revitalized.
The only game that could still get DLC is Predator that have at least 4 more planned. But that is still far short of the 14 empy entries. For small games I don't know if there even is one that would make sense to port for the PC. And Sony don't look interested in that, porting only AAA so far.
I think it was just a oversight. Maybe they listed things twice or something like that.
A bit odd. Currently there is 21 DLC for HELLDIVERS and Predator. When taking into consideration the games themselves that number goes to 25. That will rise again to 27 after they add GUNS UP! and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture to the list.
So I wonder what exactly are those 14 other itens. Might just be a oversight though.
That would actually be impressive if true.
