I find it very unlikely that anyone could buy Epic. Not only because how valuable they are, but because of how divided the shares are. Sweeney is unlikely to sell his majority stake in the company and Tencent owns almost all the rest.
Though there are a shaking happening right now. Thanks to the Apple lawsuit and Tencent issues with the US government. And depending of the result. I could see a bigger fish gobbling a part of Epic. But my first bet would be Microsoft and not...
Yeah, that is pretty low for 4-6 Sony games. Given that Gearbox got $140M for Boderlands 3 alone.
The issue with that would be the worth of said deal for Microsoft. As a market, both Switch and PS5 are definitely interesting. However are they interesting enough for XCloud to alone make Microsoft time worth it? I don't think so.
Because right now. Game Pass have three main revenue streams: The subscription, the DLC and the discounts for unlisted games.
But a custom GP/XCloud for Sony and Nintendo would only really provide money from the subscripti...
The revenue part is why I don't see XCloud coming to the Switch or PS5 in any official format. Microsoft would have to offer Nintendo something as compensation for the lost in revenue. But for Microsoft that would likely not make sense to do as they would already be offering the service in pretty much all the other devices that a Switch/PS5 owner is likely to have.
Therefore I can only see XCloud on those consoles in a non-official capacity by means of a browser based...
Somebody would definitely buy the rights and development tools of the Unreal Engine. So you don't need to be concerned with that. The only thing that would likely change is the monetization scheme. As the leaked documents proved that the way Unreal Engine is being handled right now leaves a lot of money on the table.

Yes and mentioned that I find it even dumber for f2p titles. However as whole the idea of paying for online in sort of bizarre at this day and age. As both PC and especially mobile that represent the largest pie of the market have it for free. With the exception of subscription based games that are few and far between.
It can be both though. The listing was just introduced with this new update and you are bound to have multiple games in this state if you play/try many at the same time. Something that is also ridiculously like to happen because of Game Pass.
So if you let's say play Forza Horizon and Destiny daily. But also try some new titles ever once in a while. The situation OP described is very possible and even likely to happen. As you will be using quick resume to change between ...
No doubt about it. Even more now that it was revealed how dependent of consoles their revenue flow is.
And there is also the rumors of Fortnite going the Roblox's way, so having a larger market for that is a sound strategy.
That said. I'm not particularly against having multiplayer being free on Xbox. If anything I don't see justification for any console manufactor to ask for a subscription in this day and age. Even more for f2p titles.
Well, if they manage to make it playable on a browser. It should be possible to use on any device that support one. The issue however is that as far as I'm aware the neither the Switch or the PS5 offer that. At least in a way that is acessible by the user.
That said. Given that it will be available on mobile phones and likely smart TVs. Console support should be a secondary thought.
The IP itself is amazing, dark, depressing with a tremendous sense of adventure. Perfect for a video game. While de developer is pretty good at building narratives.
The issue however. Is that this is a exploration based RPG and as far as I'm aware neither Spike Chusoft nor Mages have much experience with this type of gameplay.

" not sure about that estuff money for fortnite, u cant quantify hype and engagement in money. yes setting up esports tourneys costs money. but if with those tourneys you can keep the most hardcore players playing your game, the 12 and 13 yo's will watch him on twitch playing fortnite and not pubg or another BR."
That is Epic own stance in the matter. To justify their EBITDA drop they pointed out and I quote: "Overestimated...
Nothing revealed so far is good for Epic.
As you mentioned. Developers now have a basis to analyse how much money they can take from Epic;
However we also learned that Fortnite is basically keeping them afloat. But at the same time it is expected to have gonne down in revenue to almost 50% of it's original value and Fortnite eSports don't make any money and actually cost more to run than it is worth. That Unreal Engine to surprise of everbody don't actu...
This look really good. A far cry from the original for sure.
They should remake the entire franchise to be honest. Every single Drakengard game is definitely unique, but overall clunky as hell.
That is actually growth all around for the traditional platforms (2020 - 2021):
Xbox Series X/S went from 25% to 30%
PS5 went from 38% to 44%
PC went from 50% to 58%
Switch went from 37% to 38%
Mobile went from 34% to 54% (this one is a bit sketchy, because they grouped mobile in 2020 and separed into Android and iOS now)
For non traditional platforms it either went down or did not see any growth:
VR ...
The more logical reason would be that they don't want to have to deal with the legislation in regard to that kind of content and there might be pressure from third parties. In particular payment providers that have a historic low interest in being available for adult oriented media.
There is also that, now, old conspiracy theory about the crew from Campo Santo talking the helms of this part of the approving process. And being a little trigger happy with it.
...
Honestly I thought this game got cancelled a long time ago. The first and last time I heard anything about it was in 2011.
Why is he using the Wii version of the game though? Retroarch have a GC module (the same one as the Wii btw) and that version would likely translate much better to the Xbox controller.
Fable 2 don't have a PC version. So unless they start work on a remaster, that will never happen.
They could, however, disable the GFWL on Fable III and put it back on the market.
That could hold water for almost any publisher. But definitely not for Sony that treats all of their PC ports as brand new games with a full price tag to boot. So $200M for 4-6 ports is a completely unrealistic expectation from Epic even more if they were expecting a full year of exclusivity.
