Let's face it. Microsoft only has 2 choices with X720 disc medium.

a) Use Blu-ray like most of the industry.
b) Drop the disc drive all-together and focus on digital downloads.

All other options are just silly.

Agreed, most of these look really bad except for the glassy one at the bottom.

Particularly horrid are the one with analog-sticks above the buttons. I mean the position of the left stick doesn't really matter (Both fairly feel natural)

But the right one seriously needs to be below the buttons. This Wii-U styled right stick position is just plain horrible. Why? Simply because it works Comfortably with the right thumb's range of motion.

I see no reason why Sony should abandon the current DS3 desing (it could be improved with better triggers tough) while still providing new controller for those looking for something new.

Or better (easier yet) make the console backwards compatible with Ds3.

Technically.. Yes
There's really nothing in the game that is technically impossible for vita. Even the Controls would translate quite well from Ps3 to PsV.

Commercially..Probably not
Skyrim is an "end of console generation" game with pretty high budget making it commercially unfavorable to release the game to PSV or 3DS for that matter.

Great game that isn't afraid to be a tad different from the rest. Loved the fairly open worlds with a lot more variety than in most modern games.

Playstation network is still too stiff for most F2P MMORPG games most of them require constant updates and background downloads.

It's unforgivable to force the users to download a 2GB+ update after downloading the game (DCU has 15GB+ Update!).

Well to be perfectly honest all > 500MB updates are fairly sinful on PS3 as there's simply no background download option for these patches.

Latest versions of the clients should always be ava...

Rear touchpad isn't a gimmick, it's just an attempt to provide touch support without your fingers or pen blocking the view.

I seriously doubt many consider it as a"special feature for the sake of having a special feature." It's just a nice little feature among many others (that has possible been used badly by some).

Personally I think the Gameplay seems far deeper than what most FPS games offer.

The RPG elements, economy and builds/fittings is enough for me to separate it from most generic fps games.

Well one that fits your bill would be the MMO DC universe. For my understanding the game has pretty large open world and as for the player count, the MMO pretty much sums it up.

Few good mentions could be M.A.G (256 players) and possibly GTA IV.

As for just the Map size, Just Cause 2 is pretty stunning on consoles. Too bad there's no official multiplayer.

Yeah, the current console generation is nearing it's inevitable end.

But still, that doesn't change the fact that DayZ or Arma2 doesn't really offer anything that would be impossible on consoles. Open world games, tactical shooters, rpg elements or zombies are nothing new on consoles.

Arma2 engine is a resource hungry mess tough.. so no wonder why the game is not on consoles. Hopefully they have managed to fix most of the problems with the upcomi...

excellent choice from Sega, although worldwide would be even slightly better.

When it comes to PS Vita, I am more worried about TGS than E3. Most of my PSP and DS games are from Japanese developers after all.

//Japanese devs 'desperate to stay alive"? No, just being idiots. Either collaborate with western devs or make japanese with no westernization games.//

This.. This so much..

Is the language barrier too much to understand that we don't actually want westernization in our games.

why did games like Dark/Demon souls, Ninja Gaiden, Caherine or countless Nintendo game franchises become so popular in the west?

Maybe be...

No, it's actually a completely different genre that just has a really bad name.

Those games are widely labelled as J-RPG's so you might as well say that you are looking for more of those.

Many of the Downloadable J-RPGs on PSP are Vita compatible so you might check those out if you haven't already. As Japan seems to be really backwards in the graphics department these days I doubt you'll be missing anything else than the bigger resolution.

With the conservative style they are developing their games these days, I would guess ...

Sacred2 is also worth a try. The game offers pretty large open world, insane amount of quests, loot and probably the deepest character development system that I have yet encountered.

The games combat art + skills system allows crazy amount of different ways to build the games characters.

I think there's plenty of room for both of em. Sure torchlight borrows a lot from Diablo2 and TQ, but there's still plenty of things the Torchlight setting allows that would feel really out of place in Diablo3.

Fans of the genre might also be on lookout for Grim Dawn the next game from the developers of epic action-rpg Titan Quest.

I would also like to add, that Vita supports a pretty nice range of languages even in games. I was simply amazed to see pretty much everything fully translated to Finnish. (considering our small population it's pretty amazing)

This is one thing those who are native to language like English might not even think of. But try to think a kid using a system that uses some other language than English like Japanese or Spanish.

Vita supports 16 languages, 19 if yo...

I only needed to Google what Samsung galaxy note looks like to give the award to Vita.

Vita wins simply because it has these things called buttons. Touchscreen works for very limited amount of games while combo of both works with pretty much any genre you can think of and more.

As for Phones.. Samsung Galaxy mini is more than enough for me. Its small, affordable and unlike some phones it actually works in winter (around -20*C outside)
