This and Dead Rising 3 both heavily smell like Timed Exclusives. The 2 platforms are just too similar, for publishers to resist the temptation.
Both of them will probably release later with exclusive content. That's how 3rd parties roll.
Actually GameStop and other similar retailers could do pretty dirty stuff for Xbox One and the publishers supporting the platform.
They could simply just say no.
It's not like they are forced to sell stuff that could be harmful for their business, or they could dance around the casual consumers (majority of gamers) and heavily affect their decisions in many ways like prices, deals and staff recommendations.
Exactly, the blockbuster business model is broken to begin with and should be abandoned as soon as possible.
There are plenty of indies, doing AAA-quality stuff with budgets fraction of what AAA-developers.
Sure their games might be missing 30 minute cut-scenes, hollywood voice acting and they focus heavily on gameplay.. wait a minute, why do I even play AAA-games anymore?
It's not uncommon to hear players provoke each other in multiplayer games. To be honest, "rape" is fairly mild choice of a word compared to some of the things you hear people say in online games.
Those three looked amazing, but considering how unpredictable indie scene is, I would keep my eyes open as with self publishing you just never know when the next big thing hits.
Yeah it stinks, but think of it as a small sacrifice to potentially "save" console gaming. (Grass doesn't really look greener on competitors side.)
It's most likely Sony's hidden move to make for consumer loyalism trough massive instant game collection, similarly to Steam sales
(it's a lot harder to abandon steam as a service if you already have gaziljon games on it.)
Funny how they'd pick that one and leave everything else out.
According to wikipedia, he has pretty decent portfolio of games he has worked. Includes many Psx and Ps2 classics.

// Let’s not forget: Sony is still a massive corporation, and corporations exist to make money. If publishers are forcing the hand of Microsoft to implement the ability for them to regulate used games, Sony must follow suit to have those publishers develop for their system//
This is bullshit. Publishers with their pants on retarded blockbuster business model, simply can't afford to skip any potential sales just because Platform holder doesn't do everything they want i...
Well most of them have PC port since many of them use XNA Framework. Even if Windows 8 drops the support, there's still Monogame which allows Linux and Mac support as well.
Personally I'd recommend C# and Windows forms or Unity for those who want to learn Game Programming.
Mainly due to C# being a lot easier than C++ (while very similar in syntax!) and windows forms /unity motivate to learn a lot more than your typical console applications.
Java and Python are pretty good choices as well, but C# Really well documented and Visual studio is pretty much the best editor out there for both C# and C++ (yes even the free express v...
Well, best option is probably to try to find local game development related events like GameJams (Global Game Jam) and Developer gatherings and go there to do some networking.
There are plenty of sites and forums like for example GameDev.net and tigsource.com and reddit. Ludum Dare competition is also worth a look, you might find some people to work with trough that as well.
That's better than nothing, there are plenty of programmers who can't draw for ****.
But be prepared to draw all kinds of things, in a small team you just might have to draw everything that is shown on the screen which is hard work.
Especially animation, can be pretty demanding but really rewarding.
That's not really a game idea, you just basically presented that horror games would be better with binaural recording technology and you'd like to see horror game to use such technology.
- How do you play this game?
- What are the goals player(s) try to achieve?
- What are the things that try to keep the players from achieving these goals.
- What makes and keeps the game fun/entertaining?
- How does binaural recording technology affect...
Well if you can draw or create 3D-models, there are plenty of game programmers looking to team up. For best results it's often good to team up with someone of nearly equal skill/experience. You'll learn more.
Audio is a bit harder, as most of audio guys do freelance, not many dedicated ones in smaller teams.
If you are just "the idea guy" then well, better get yourself an actual skill. And no, Game Designer isn't the same as "the i...
The game looks really good. Hopefully they'll consider other platforms as well-
I mean ignoring Playstation when talking about platformers or collect-a-thons is one form of blashemy. Jak and daxter, Crash, Ratchet and clank, Spyro, Rayman did a lot for the genre back in the day, some even today.
Besides as a new studio, there's simply no reason (other than budget and resources) to ignore other platforms and their potential customers.
With so much violence in video games, It's funny to see how people react so strongly against porn.
I mean is it really worse to see 2 people making love or completely natural naked human body than it's chopping heads and slaughtering people and creatures in most violent ways imaginable.
full blown double standards if you ask me.
if you are willing to pay for it, sure.
For free? I seriously doubt it.
Personally I'd guess the Mobile game boom will show significant decrease by 2016. Even now appstore is getting cluttered with bad games and clones of those games, and good ones are having trouble gaining any visibility due to the ever growing competition.
If Sony is open enough for indie devs and Ouya succeeds we might actually see new huge boost console games and portable gaming consoles.
Actually, Crytek hired some of the Vigil Games crew for their new US based studio.
You know... the former developers of Darksiders and Darksiders 2?
Wikipedia - Vigil Games
//On January 28, 2013, Crytek started a new studio called Crytek USA in Austin, Texas consisting of the 35 former Vigil Games employees.[4]//
Yeah, it's called gender sup... equality.
