I wonder why games such as angel love online have not invaded consoles yet. The game was released in japan for Ps3 quite a while a go and it worked pretty well and had mouse + keyboard support.

Games such as maple story, Raknarok could have potential if they where to get console port with mouse and keyboard support.

Great visual novel, would recommend anyone who is even remotely interested of reading these. Too bad these kind of "games" are pretty niche, would love to get that Ps3 version of Umineko with english translation :|

Yeah, I don't really even consider iPad or iPhone to compete with NGP or 3DS. Handheld gaming system does not really describe these Android and iOS devices.

Sure they can play games, but they are not really designed to. While 3DS and NGP have these things called buttons that make many games just so much more enjoyable.

//the 3ds was the top selling system of the week. Not the psp 300 or the psp go. Sure if you add them together. But is that fair? no not if you dont count the other ds models which are also selling //

Not that any of this really matters, but 3DS is consider as "next-gen" handheld while all PSP and PSP go are pretty much the same system.

But considering the success of DS I would have guessed 3DS to do better. (like be sold out for first month or some...

Consoles are not to blame here, they are just PC's with "fixed/static" hardware and closed operating system.

Its too sad to see that Crytek left the PC version to this shape, while focusing mainly on consoles but guess there are business related variables at work there.

Agreed, this kind of bashing is not needed. What we need is more move games or games supporting move and showing that its a great new way to play games.

Imo Killzone3's move controls were really impressive, but needed some fine tuning to make them work well even in multiplayer (I prefer 0% width and depth + faster turning speed + sensitivity lowest possible.)

But what we need is more games like this so that more gamers and developers will take the move co...

In many chases Old school difficulty was all about poor or just cheap design, and this so called trial and error gameplay.

But in Demon's Souls its more about abusing the common mistakes modern players make but with far greater penalties than in many modern games.
All my deaths in Demon's Souls where because
1. Lack of skill 2. Not being careful enough
3. Making too many mistakes.

Great example of this is the dragon of 1-2. M...

Oh the Irony, first it was all about how much more innovative Nintendo are with their consoles, and how graphics don't matter.

Now all the sudden they are telling people to just turn off the only thing that separates the new DS from being just "DS with better graphics".

So they are asking 250$/€ for DS with slightly better graphics than 130$ PSP?
If Sony manages to get NGP price to reasonable price, this could get interesting.

Well yes and no, the definition of port seems a bit confusing.

Some related the word port to things like Oblivion or Mass Effect2, which have been developed for other platforms later than the main platform.

Some associate port with these games that have been almost directly edited from the first version just to fit the other platform. This often translates to worse graphics, controls (if pc -> console or console -> PC) etc.

Its pretty easy to agree with THQ in this one if you have used this kinds of services on PC. Its not just the DLC but games as well.

Compare the consoles to PC in this one. PC is an open platform where you can easily get your game from multiple digital distributors (steam, gamersgate, games for windows etc etc). Where as in consoles you are restricted to Playstation store or XBLA or Wiiware.

There's really no competition, and if you want a certain feature...

@Downtown boogey

check iWaggles demostration of how the move controls work in Killzone3. It shows pretty well that the menu representation is pretty good, but there's this special system that helps aiming after turning.

When/if I buy a smartphone its gotta have Android in it (or some other open (preferably open-source) os). Apple is way too closed both hardware and software vice for me to even bother with their systems.

I don't want the phone to limit where I get the software, who repairs my phone or will I be using official or 3rd party battery/memory stick. Hell the iPhone might even break when temperature drops bellow zero degrees Celsius which is pretty much required where I live (-2...

Am I missing something here? was Bulletstorm really rated E for everyone? If not, then why are the 9 year olds playing it?

@Suckerpunch
So what makes US media any less nationalistic than Dutch media? Not saying they are, but its highly possible that reviewers with US nationality could review the games made in US more favorably than those from other countries.

It's Funny how call of duty games and some other games get free pass from the single player mode. On normal difficulty these games can be completed in mere hours.

The plot is usually shit, gameplay is usually repeative cover based shoot everything that moves (also popping heads) and follow a single path from the beginning to the end by throwing scripted events at the player.

Killzone2 and 3 at least try to make these better trough, enemy AI, setting, weap...

//Well, in Two Worlds II the voice acting is hit or miss, with your main character being the worst by a large margin, and others being rather charming and often interesting.//

I liked the main characters va, its sometimes so bad that its actually good. But most what I liked about it was that the main character doesn't feel like some sort of white knight, and doesn't sound like a wimp when talking to criminals or other people with questionable morals. It's also ver...

Played AC4 or 4 answer once online, against Japanese and got my ass handed over by the other players. It was confusing as hell, and chaotic which was not all that much fun.

So based on that, they have a lot of work to do if they want this to work. Confusing and chaotic multi-player will only lead to boredom and people loosing their interest within days.

Its good, not Game of the year or anything but still a good RPG. I was also cautious because the first game was crushed by critics, but the second one caught my interests.

Two worlds 2 is still open world rpg, it maybe smaller and shorter than the first game, but the graphics are nice and the loading times are often ridiculously fast. Guess they used quality over content for the sequel.

Only bad things about the game are the voice actors and cinematics. Like...
