It was almost criminal just how lazy developers were last time around with regard to PS3 multi-platforms. The way I see it, if you do not like the hardware don't create a game for it. If you do go multi-platform then do the best you can.
Great news now for gamers with PS4 and XB1 being based on same/similar CPU meaning mult-platform games should all be amazing.
PS4 may get a bit more juice on top but we all get great ice this time in many flavours.
Somebody actually pays this guy?
I predict the Vita will be the dark horse this time around. I have one and its way better than my PSP. The PS4 will ignite Vita sales along with bundles and price drops.
I have to say I am actually impressed with the Vita. It handles really well and I already have some amazing games from PS+ alone.
I could understand - and even forgive - if it was a much smaller company. But this is Microsoft. They have money to burn yet they still insist on being cheap.
Do the re-charger kits on the 360 controller fit? Probably not. Lazy, cheap and maybe just a little bit greedy.
What a wasted opportunity to actually develop a next gen console improving in every way from the last. No other company in the world could get away with this. Shows the need for strong competi...
Now, now. Upsetting gamers is one thing. Upsetting gamers parents is another!
You have to pay extra to charge the controller? Than is just plain DAFT!
You have to buy batteries, rechargeable batteries and charger or a MS charger kit. What's next gen about that.
Seriously, if you can't be bothered to produce a rechargeable controller (or Sony has the patent) then give the recharger kit away with the console - it is £500.
You know when you walk into a store and buy a TV for £500. The TV remote may come...
I did too. But the difference is on the PS3 you CAN download Vita games. Then copy over. I doubt you will be able to copy PS4 games to your PS3 in readiness.
So it is not the same! Cool idea.
I did it before I got my Vita - finally got the Vita because of the great games on PS+.
The point here is you can do it without the PS4, before you even purchase one. Great idea.
True. For a person in his position he should be more considered with his thoughts and opinions. It would not look good on him or the PS4 if these things do not transpire to be true.
Amazing news for current and future PS+ subscribers.
So you can wait until the rush dies down, get your PS4 when you have the funds and still get access to all those PS+ PS4 games that were available from day 1.
Too much is too much! How old is the PS3 now? The PS4 is on the way. In the UK you can get one for £139 - £150. The 500GB is £200 with a game.
The current 360 with a 250GB Hard Drive is £160 here. The 360 has always been cheap here. For the PS3 to continue its great sales it needs to be as cheap as possible.
The PS+ and great cheap software (platinum games) will make the money up. Get as many people on your platform as possible. It makes g...
$200 is too much. They should aim it $150-$160 especially as you will need to buy a decent size hard disk as well.
I think Live subscriptions have kept MS in the gaming arena for so long. Without all that yearly income they would of gave up the ghost long ago.
That is a massive amount of money!
If users are willing to pay without question then the best thing to do is force all services behind your pay wall.
Daft! If you require your current 360 to be on to run a game through the XB1 then it is not backward compatible. It is only backward compatible when you do no need the original device!
Good idea in theory but the practice is a non-starter. So I have my XB1 and then connect my 360 while also having the Kinnect 2 connected and possibly an external hard drive for extra storage.
All these leads and devices having to be connected can be a practical nightmare. Goo...
If you as a 360 owner and Live subscriber are happy then that's fine. Don't really matter what non-Live members think.
I'm sure trading standards would have a field day with all this "Free-To-Play" nonsense. If you gotta pay to play then it ain't FREE.
Call it something else.
Sony could so easily of followed suit by putting it all behind the pay wall. Glad they did not. If you want to buy your kid a console for christmas you should not have to add subscription fees straight away.
I really like PS+ and have got so many great games from it but...
You do know you can make your point but edit out a couple of characters? You are over 10?
Are you really saying if the controller runs out of batteries just plug it in and play like a PS2 controller because its better for online?
Is that an excuse for poor design? Cameras, smartphones, DS3/DS4 controllers all run off rechargeable lithion type batteries. Not AAA batteries!
Put in the recharging kit for free, Microsoft!
"Gamers decided to isolate and focus on the rather large power brick.."
Not true. I watched all the video with interest. XB1 was slightly smaller, Kinnect 2 much bigger, already thought they would include a headset, batteries in controller without the charger kit a no-no, and using a brick in 2013 in an already big box is just sloppy. But the 4k-enabled HDMI is a great bonus.
With 360 it was: external wifi dongle, external HD-DVD player, batteries i...
Gamescom cannot come soon enough. It will be even more anticipated than E3!
And the great thing is its in Europe so no more waiting up until the early hours again...
Great clear comment. You should be on more bubbles!
I can't see myself getting the XB1 any time soon. I cannot see the benefit right now. If MS had established studios like Sony we would all benefit. I will stick with the gaming only box for now.
Who knows what both consoles will offer in 2-3 years time?
