If I was MS I would buy our Duracell!

Made for the people, by the people. The masses rise to greet their new working class hero!

The limit will be hard disk space. And if the PS4 uses fat32 for external storage like with PS3 the limit for files is 4GB. So transferring your file to a PC for editing becomes tricky.

Plus game developers may not want more than 15 mins of recorded game play available for all to see. I just do not see the advantage for most users. 15mins seems enough.

Actually a good move. Shame it expires on 31 Dec as it gives little time for kids getting their new console for Christmas to then upgrade for the XB1.

I knew they would pull the same scam with batteries for the controller - just ship the re-charger kit with it, cheapskates.

The brick DID surprise me a little. I thought with the size of XB1 that the PSU would be internal. Why such a large fan with power brick outside? With the amount of money MS has surely they can design a system self-containded.

At least they are not charging for a wifi dongle this time!

It says on playstation blog so maybe some extra sale or price drop?

You are quite right. You pays your money, you takes your choice.

Your No. 5 may actually happen.

Its great for all those getting their new console on Christmas day and realising they can use most features right away - no batteries required.

They can watch youtube, chat with their mates and play free to play games that are actually free. Sony are doing much better this time around. Its great for the kids and also saves the parents splashing out more money on Christmas day. They can buy PS+ in the new year if they choose, but still have loads of fun right out of the box. ...

The XBox One on its own would probably be just okay if it could stand on its side. But when laid flat with the massive kinnect 2 and the quite large power brick then I am afraid it gets too big for its boots.

Seriously I would of got rid of the brick supply and have the option of Kinnect 2 imbedding itself at the front/top of the XB1 with swivel option for camera line of vision.

I do not understand the power brick. The huge fan made me believe the psu was inside. Why so much heat without an internal PSU?

The batteries in the controller is also very last gen. The PS4 has copied some of the 360 best features - cross game chat and free headset connected to the controller. It's a shame MS did not copy the PS3 with inbuilt rechargeable battery for the controller and no massive power brick.

MS have shown their first unboxing, Sony have not. You cannot say until we see the video first.

Gotta say as a PS4 day one purchaser this looks a tad smaller than I first thought. Can't wait to see them lined up against each other.

The Kinnect is massive and I am shocked they still use an enormous external brick. Also the Xbox controller does look a bit dated compared to the DS4 - but I guess it only matters how it actually feels when playing.

Kudos to MS for showing the first unboxing of the new consoles. I liked the look of the ports and the 4k-e...

It does look cheap but the PS4 headset does not look too great either. I like the blue on the PS4 headset but neither are worth $25 IMHO.

Just glad that the PS4 is still using bluetooth and will be compatible with PS3 wireless headsets. I am looking to buy a 7.1 decent one but did not want to get a PS3 and then a PS4 one.

I think MS missed the boat with not making 360 headsets work with the XB1. That is Apple's domain.

Sony selling 8 million units is crazy when you consider the PS3/PSP/PS Vita have all been slammed down in the press upon release. And even selling more than Nintendo's 7.5 million.

Am gonna enjoy this next gen so much. With so much Ram we can expect a change in the way games are developed. I don't know how just yet but I expect greatness.

In fact, Greatness Awaits!

Great to hear. Also noted the Backlight Retribution developers who said their current builds looked even better than their PC version. At least we have next gen hardware that developers like.

Let PC gamers complain, let console gamers complain but if the developers are happy then we all benefit. I see many great titles getting more love on the PC because of the ease of development of PS4 and its PC architecture.

Sony have copied MS in including one this time. So MS are smart to finally include one on the XB1. Shame you have to pay a subscription to use it for chat when PS4 have party chat for free.

Good move MS. Now just move most of those services from behind the pay wall and you will be fully respectable once more. C'mon, just one more 180 will do it.

I can use Skype for free on my smartphone, tablet and PC. I can also use netflix on those including PS3. I can use youtube for free on all of those. Heck, even my Tivo box has added youtube viewing for no extra cost.

It may be a rip off but when so many people paid on the 360 MS are assuming it can do it again. As we say in the UK, "This is simply not cricket!". Who really has the gamers/consumers interest at heart?

It will be interesting to see how...
