@Morganfell:- I 100% agree with you.
It would seem like MS were never going for 2013 launch after all. After PS4 feb reveal it was ultra quiet from MS.
All these reversals could of been done in the development stage and in private but they have had to rush their schedule. Why? Because PS3 is doing so well everywhere else apart from the US and the PS4 seems likely to steam ahead.
The strong line up of developers and great franchise games have ...
It has been 2 days since a 180 story and I was wondering why no more MS reversal - and then this story appears. Do NOT announce things then reverse!
Shame the XB1 hardware is region free but not the activation and Live subscription. Now let's see what is announced in another 2 days...
Do not expect smooth transitions from game to TV to video to game to TV, etc. Not straight away. Remember how most smartphones have quad-core CPU and they still have slow-down when switching.
CPU's will always take the brunt. It is not running on magical ice or anything. It all sounds great but if most Ram is taken up then pagefile swapping will be used for switching between games and TV/Videos for larger games.
We all know how slow windows pagefiles are ...
Let me just say that I hope every game released for XB1 is awesome and provides an amazing experience for all gamers.
That said, I just can NOT listen to anything MS have to say at the moment regarding XB1 because they do not seem to know what they are doing. It is a sad and crazy situation at the minute.
We need strong competition. Come on Microsoft, get your act together!
Big mistake.
But blame MS. You are fully entitled to buy what you want but MS are making fools of themselves at the moment. Every other day brings new things to ridicule and that is not fair on gamers like you who are willing to pay good money for their product.
Let's just hope they actually settle down and decide what the XB1 is actually going to be and then concentrate on delivering a great service for its loyal customers like you!
I know what PS4 is offering. I have known since the reveal in Feb. Yes I want a PS4.
Who honestly knows what they will be getting with XB1 at the moment? Only blind faith and more money than sense would make me think to buy a console when the makers do not know what they will use it for.
Let's wait until both release and see what they both offer.
It is not any worse than most of the daft articles we will be seeing until new consoles are released.
20 reasons to buy PS4
20 reasons NOT to buy PS4
20 reasons to buy XB1
20 reasons NOT to buy XB1
blah... blah...
At least this was funny!
After all that there was no XB1 at the end for comparison.
And that banana was not ripe!
Don't be daft. That's called a vision.
You really do know how to insult those poor management at Microsoft!
Dumb smuck. They care about dollars, not customers or gamers.
Some people never learn..
You, my friend, have made the best of a bad situation. Hope you have enough batteries for both sets of controllers now.
But I have to admit your solution works for you. Maybe you are a pioneer after all!
Will they actually now show any Kinnect games or functions at GAmescom?
I see what you did there: XBox U-turn
Actually made me chuckle. Could catch on.
First we had the wiiU and now the Xbox U.
It all depends on what vision MS has (if any right now) for the XB1. If it wants to focus on being the living room entertainment centre then it will advertise as such and keep the Kinnect.
But who can honestly say what their real plans are?
I bet the Kinnect 2 is actually a great piece of hardware. Its just in the wrong hands.
It reminds me of specialised hardware that has no set market. It may be great in education, arcades or somewhere else especially if it did cost $200-$250 per camera for MS due to the sensor.
But developers primarily want to create great games and will not put all their efforts into gimmicks this early in a new system life span. If Sony had included the PS Eye we may see mo...
I think the whole MS management seem to have their heads in the cloud.
But I hope we all have a great time with our chosen consoles come launch day. That's all that really matters.
You mean like a PS2 controller. Back to the future...
It will be used for movies in the first instance.
I actually like the look of these and the reviews so far are amazing. The fact I can use them for Bluray movies as well as games and on the PS4 is a bonus.
But maybe I'll do a bit more research first. Thanks for the heads up.
Edit: I got a disagree. Must be for the Judge Judy comment. Some people have no taste!
WHAT CAN MICROSOFT DO NOW?
First of all finalise what the product will be and focus on that.
Second of all, have belief in your product and do not release until fully satisfied there are no problems. Another RROD will be a disaster for MS and for gamers faith in them. If your product is good enough it will sell.
If you really want to copy Sony so much just look at the success of the PS3 even after losing a year due to its late release.
