You will not find a PC as powerful as the PS4 (& DS4) with optimised gaming inputs (mouse/keyboard) for the same price. Or anywhere near.
It is purpose built for gaming with a gaming OS.
A toaster is a toaster, A PS4 is a gaming consle, as is a XB1 and a PC is a multi-purpose computing device with thrown together parts and multi-purpose OS.
Do not compare apples with oranges.
In comparison the PS4 is sleek and much thinner. My missus would not allow anything that looks as bulky as that unless I hid it in a cupboard.
If you are single or if you have a large space it will not matter at all. Its just those fussy partners..
Gotta say it looks BIGGER than in the Mj Nelson vid. I thought it initially was not as big as I imagined - but watching this it is just so big.
They seem to have purposely not shown the brick. So it is not really an unboxing is it?

.ps This is much larger than my Tivo box under the TV. It would not fit in the slots we have. Shame it can't be stood up. Maybe the slim version...
It said "plans" but not "date". This could mean a list of countries but not the actual date.
I do believe they will release the date as well. Sony have done well at being straight up so far. We may even get the final tech issues clarified such as:
. CPU speed
. Ram for games
. Sata interface for HDD (2 or 3)
. etc.

Great video. As a concept it has a lot of potential. Not for gaming in small bedrooms or even small living rooms but gotta love potential of new tech.
Seemed like a few machines were actually running this stuff not a XB1 before we get carried away. The lighting and depth analysis were the most impressive along with the joint movement.

Microsoft have already spent millions if not billions on this in total. Just wait until we all get non-stop Microsoft adverts that make this gaming console seem like the holy grail!

I do not understand this at all. Something is just not right.
If they have been working on the new console for years now then all this would/should of been resolved way before release. Unless Sony caught them on the hop by announcing a 2013 release when MS were expecting a 2014 one.
MS release windows all around the world. Localisation and languages is second nature to them. We may never know the truth but I feel we are all missing something..
Guess you should blame MS not the web site. They have made public statements about releasing in 21 countries and now THEY are back tracking. It is news if you live in one of those countries and wanted or have pre-ordered a XB1.
What a daft and selfish thing to say. You must reside in a country that is getting XB1 on launch day.
Simple rule in business - Do not promise your customer what you cannot deliver. They may just go to the competition if you do!
Actually I think the new XB1 controller looks a bit bland in comparison. It may actually handle a dream and be the best controller ever invented but it looks a bit boring.
At least admit when something looks okay. The PS4 looks much more funky than the XB1. Does not mean it will play any better just because of the way it looks. It's about functionality as well.

Hey, I just spent $100 developing this new car. It is great but you still have to wind it up at the front to start. I bet people will moan about that little fact!
Joking aside I am so excited about using the DS4 especially as developers seem to be raving about it. And now we know how much MS spent on upgrading their controller there can be no more complaints about controllers.
Screen looks amazing.
Even the PSP games look way better. The screen is awesome.
The only change I would make (apart from Ram) is the camera. It is 2013!
