A week or so either way will not make a great difference. I would bet on 22nd as it is before the PS4 in Europe/UK and just after the US release for PS4.

I can wait until the 29th for my PS4 (well, I have little choice) but we all want things yesterday. I just hope that whenever it is the XB1 is actually fully tested and ready.

October would of been better because the end of November is the last pay cheque before Christmas. Tough choices!

They will both be 720p at 60 fps.

If a game runs smooth and has amazing graphics, awesome environment and handles well then who really cares whether it is 1080 or 720? I don't.

Crysis may look amazing on a beast PC but the game ain't that great..

Vita version will be awful if it is just a port. If they spend some energy making it touch-screen friendly then it may work..

It must of took some time to design this feature. They must have been worried when the XB1 first revealed.

But it is good all around. I do NOT want to say this but well done COD!

There is another solution. Take your partner to the US for what they call "The Fall" - Autumn to you and me. And then bring one back with you.

Imagine the brownie points earned for the holiday. You will then be able to game to your hearts content without any complaints!!

Most 360/XB1 fans on this site will defend this pay wall policy to the death. But if Microsoft turn around today and put many of these services in front of the pay wall like Sony these same fans will say MS is great to cater for all gamers and for listening to fans.

You cannot have it both ways. Have a point of view you can stick with. Something is either a good decision or a bad one.

Sony have made many bad decisions last gen. They just so happen to be makin...

It can be a massive marketing point. Free to play actually means free to play. You pay good money for a new console to get next gen graphics and gaming.

You can then play for free. A great bargain. I hope that MS see sense and put some of their services in front of their pay wall.

For hard core gaming then it will not matter but when going for the casual market it stinks of pure greed.

Tell any casual person on the street that they can buy a XB1 but then have to pay a yearly subscription just to use those basic services they get for free on their smartphone, tablet, laptop/PC they would laugh at you. Especially considering the cost of the console in the first place.

And when they know the other console, PS4 offers these for free it doe...

Any takers on the release date?

I would guess 22nd Nov or 29th at the latest. It would be insane if they went with the 1st Nov!

As a virgin media customer I cannot wait to see what they offer. I predict they will be first for the 200 Mbps with PS4/Vita offers to boot.

Cannot wait..

It is in between the releases of AAA games that indies will shine. Sony are encouraging a new breed of developer and letting in a new age for gaming. We will all benefit (PC, smartphone, tablet, consoles, etc.).

Developers do not need to port as such this next gen as both XB1 and PS4 have over 5GB Ram, the same 8-core CPU and AMD graphics. The core of the development should be the same.

Yes you can tweak the final implementation and and add system specific features like camera and app-integration for XB1 and utilise the strong PS4 GPU and tablet/app features.

Lets give the developers and the architects a few years to fully get to grips with all this new tech. Look ho...

This is actually great news that we should all celebrate.

Current gen was full of Multi-plat games being held back because of lack of BluRay, etc. Now both have BluRay, over 5GB Ram and 8-core CPU. Just develop to their strengths.

The Wii had different versions to cater for its strengths now let's have XB1 games with camera and more app-integration for their multi-OS system. And lets have PS4 games that maximise the GPU/GDDR5 capabilities.

Its just a bit of banter.

We all need the competition. PS4 would not be so kick ass strong without the 360 doing so well and the XB1 was almost lost before it begun but has come back stronger thanks to the PS4.

Everyone's a winner, baby!

This is better news for us Europeans. We have to wait an extra 2 weeks for the PS4.

So while we wait we can still play the PS3 version of those great new games. Then when we trade in we get to see the massive differences between them - hopefully.

I do not feel so bad about waiting 2 weeks longer now!

This is great. It is also common sense and not greed.

You buy the PS3 version on disc - you always get better deals on disc as you can shop around for the best price.

You then Upgrade for a PS4 digital copy for £10 or so and now you have your PS4 version and your PS3 version. You can then still keep your PS3 version or trade it in for another game or money or just give it to a mate.

Amazing deal for gamers. I hope MS can do the same for ...

Its a shame the PS4 does not ship with the red and blue one in the box. I am greedy, I know. But they look amazing!
