"...never..."
20 years later you will likely be proven wrong (unless humans finally commit to starting WWIII).

Me neither, I was staring at the disc waiting for PS5 availability for nearly a YEAR! When I finally got my PS5 (over 1 year ago already) I played it and now I'm playing it again... and PS5 is basically the place where I will continue to enjoy R&C:RA, but the PC version is still great.

Actually it looks like you need a beast of a PC to compete with this game. Alex of Digital Version just dropped a 30 minute analysis which basically showed PS5 is punching well above it's weight class in most areas. The only areas PC is doing things better is where RT is concerned and even there the differences really look to come down to base resolution which is dynamic on PS5, but can be fixed on PC.

My old laptop runs the game well in my opinion... but it must be sai...

@specialguest
Totally wrong, the PS5 runs this very same game in fidelity mode at a rock solid 40FPS so long as you have a 120hz display connected to the console.
4K40 with RT that still pushes above what PC can do right now with the first round of patches (that dropped earlier on July 28th 2023 for PC).

RT shadows still pale in comparison to shadow map shadows in most cases with the recent update on PC and again 40 vs 60 at 4K.
Putting it another...

Rich's PC was CPU limited. During rift transitions my Intel-powered laptop did a better job loading without any ridiculous hitching next to Rich's PC mine was buttery smooth (which is just to say hitching was less extreme despite rocking a Pascal GPU and 7th gen Intel CPU made for laptops back in 2017). The game is well optimized... though I hear no sound, maybe that's more due to the driver update and how Windows messes everything up all the time? Seriously other game apps play s...

"Are you serious?
- Since 2000 Sony has purchased over 20 Publishers, Use the "Google Machine" and check for yourself
- They have purchased more video gaming companies that Microsoft, but MS bought some big ones! that have multiples

Just a few Key Aquisitions:"

The only publisher in that entire list is Psygnosis. And what happened with them? Well in 2001 Psygnosis was still releasing their games on PC (w...

Probably indirectly so they can avoid liability in case something goes wrong.

If that's true (and I haven't looked) it's probably Bing chat bots with accounts saying all that crud and Xbots on N4G just took up the slogan because they're all as unoriginal as MS is.

@4Sh0w
I'll agree with you that subs didn't kill Movies, Music and TV... but games aren't like those. You can make a great movie on a budget and literally the majority of humans can hold a tune sing and write musical lyrics.

You know what is so much more difficult to do have the capacity to program create optimized new renders and come up with compelling new game ideas that really stick with people and drive purchases. Games unlike music can't be ma...

As a PS5/PC gamer I'd also recommend using Steam and even Epic over the MS Store or the MS Xbox Store on PC. Wherever MS/Xbox logins and always onLine (or AoL) are required just skip those games (you know unless they are some kind of must have for you then you buy what you want otherwise I'd recommend not funding MS).

916d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Uhm... MS themselves hasn't been able to do that either dude. Now that they sort of own ABK they might have it until they destroy that franchise too like they did to Halo.

Supposedly the Japanese wouldn't allow it... unless MS says they'll pull out and f••• their internet infrastructure... Japan will fold easily under those conditions and the Xbots will rejoice as MS wields its money hammer to destroy not just gaming, but everything. Don't worry though they'll still remember to call any gamer with an affinity for anything over Xbox a deluded, toxic fanboy.

TenCent is allowed to buy everything else now... oh my bad that's not okay but MS with their history of destroying everything they tounch... major win for the industry.

HDDs move dozens of MB/s.
PS5 can move 5GB/s without any compression.
To utilize GPU depression with Direct Storage 1.2 you need a really modern RTX 30 or 40 series GPU lest you fallback to far slower CPU decompression and all of that only to mask HDD seek times which of course are not actually disappearing at all. Probably why the games minimum specs include HDD running the.game at 720p30 with "Very Low" (presumably the lowest) game settings.

2 years and 1 month. Apparently R&C:RA launched June 11th 2021 for PS5.

Exactly if Direct Storage 1.2 were this kind of magic bullet MS wouldn't shut up about it...

Seeing as how a deleted blog post is the only thing we've yet to hear about DS 1.2, it's probably not THAT great?

@jwillj2k4
It's actually worse than these articles let on... by a lot!
If people are expecting this game to run at 60FPS in 4K with RT and everything without any visual bugs on PCs using an HDD as well as it runs on PS5 using the PS5's internal storage or an NVMe drive... they're going to be disappointed. This game still needs an SSD or NVMe drive to run well and to run fast even if you have an RTX 30 or 40 series GPU and cutting-edge CPU.
