And they buy that beatee of a car at new car MSRPs only to fix it to feel good about it. That's nice... but does anyone really enjoy being forced to do things like that?
PC gamers are forced to eat the chaff to get to the cream... and they all claim it's great.
@Profchaos
Aside from the price hikes coming earlier on PS... only for everyone to follow anyway including Nintendo who has massive prpfit margins.
What has Jim Ryan done that is so darned bad?
Name one thing. Just one.
@DiRtY
Let me see...
Activision Blizzard:
Blur - dormant
Caesar - not sure what this is
Call of Duty - MEGATON
Candy Crush - mobile megaton
Crash Bandicoot - did well enough for a 4th entry... that being a continuation of a 25 year old franchise that originated on PS1.
Diablo - PC megaton-lite which does well enough to keep on keeping on.
DJ Hero - dormant
Empire Earth - not sure what...
PC gamers are a smaller crowd, they also buy less games and I don't mean they pirate all of their games, but pirating is an even bigger issue on PC. The fact is PC gamers may complain about game preservation... and then they also whinge and complain about how console gamers are missing out on forever games through emulation. You know if these clowns don't have a BD/DVD/CD drive they're not ripping their own library of old games, they're torrenting them from sites. They may hav...
E-Card Reader digital distribution in Japan?
The majority of Xbox gamers don't mind... the majority of PC users couldn't care less either, phone users haven't had physical game options for more than a decade now. Anyone else remember phone games sold on MicroSD cards? No, just me?
It really is down to PS and Nintendo users to keep physical game media alive.
Did you forget that Xbox Series S is also all digital and makes up close to 75% of the current Xbox marketshare as of 2021?
"Controls are worse, sound is worse, graphics are worse, games are overall worse."
If we force phone users to utilize integrated controls only - the touchscreen alone - yeah those are in basically every single way significantly worse for gaming. Here's the problem... phone users are limited to touchscreens in most games.
Most phones can use the Nvidia Shield, and Xbox gamepads as well as DS4 and DualSense on newer phones with most if not all newer games support...
Nor the gen before that in all honesty.
Without MS, Xbox would wither instantly pulling out of the gaming market. Problem is Xbox needs to fix itself before they can be decoupled safely. Xbox as it is, and as it has been for the past 22 years, can not sustain itself.
You say this like these are the same...
How are these things the same?
Or instead of forcing 16ms they will just force the console to wait... for your 400ms ping. Yikes.
They can totally do Cloud Assisted Rendering right now, but it wouldn't even be considered a passable interactive experience for even the most casual gamers, never mind the dedicated core base.
Personally, I'd love to see a functional demo like what MS showed of Crackdown 3's city-wide destruction running in a real world network environment. We a...
@thecodingart
No links because I can't remember what video I watched that made the claim. There is a Bored at Work video uploaded recently on YT that shows the RE Village settings menu, though even he only showed that the game is indeed running at 1560x720x30.
And Heavy Rain and countless other games many we may never know of.
Xbox isn't about games. It's about beating PS.
This comment needs more love!
Good thing MS finally dropped out of the iPod and mobile phone markets.
Bingo!
For 22 years MS has only been competing with PS. Everything Xbox does is a riff on what PS already did. Sometimes Xbox is first and ultimately Xbox is the reason GaaS games like PS' upcoming stuff is supposed to go 50/50 with HQSP games and GaaS games. Even Nintendo has GaaS games like Splatoon! Yet all the Nintendo fanboys won't even admit that Xbox has had a negative influence on Nintendo.
Ultimately with these corporate secrets now out i...
@Petebloodtonion
What you don't understand is that MS is trying to buy their neighbor's house... while they're still living in it despite their neighbors showing no intrest of leaving even after it is purchased. Then MS is looking at their next neighbor's home and the next, and the next, and the next. MS isn't satisfied until they own not just the block not just the city or county or the even the state... they want the whole nation. Their next step, buy the whole ...
I knew this back in the PS2 days.
If people hate Jim Ryan for GaaS games. That aggression is entirely misplaced. Hate mobile whales, this is why Nintendo - Yes, Nintendo! - and PS are making GaaS games now. MS may have gotten the ball rolling, but it was mobile games that hooked some really rich people into spending their life fortunes on fear of missing out aapects of live service games and ever since gaming has changed for the worse.
This is not Jim Ryan's fault and even if it was his idea to make 10 ...
