Totally why 1TB phones from all makes is $200 more at least with Apple and Samsung and some devices costing $300 more than 512GB models. Storage is so cheap... it is the most expensive part of the device still and this extends to modern mobile PCs including Steam Deck!
... because storage is so cheap, of course.
Haiyan Zhang, General Manager of Gaming AI, Xbox: [Opening statement about AI in Pac-Man and in games since the late 70s]
We've been playing against AI for many decades now, and everyone here is acting like this partnership will end everything, and today no one uses it better than PlayStation's 1st party devs. Guerilla Interactive used AI to form the worlds of Killzone 2 through Horizon Forbidden West's DLC world... and no one complained!

"...heck AI will likely eliminate computers themselves."
It is stunning how uninformed you are.
What is AI again? Yeah, it's called software and therfore to use AI you need... a computer (and computers exists in all robots, just in case you wish to argue along that route).
The 6 1-hour mission races were added way back now.

Supposedly, these are unofficial pads for PS5... Personally, I don't use 3rd party pads and haven't since PS2.
BROOK (not Brock) Wingman is a bridge to make Xbox controllers work on PS5 and PS5 controllers work on Xbox. The peripheral is not licensed by PS and yet... it works on PS5.

I'm more interested in Insomniac sharing their knowledge with the rest of PlayStation Studio's so that everyone can make better games.
Most people only know Insomniac after Marvel's Spider-Man on PS4 but I was their since Spyro The Dragon on PS1 (their second game) and even then I knew Insomniac Games was top-tier. Techwise on PS1 they did some incredible things just to display Spyro's massive maps without fading things out like Syphon-...
If that's the case why doesn't Ghost of Tsushima ever come up? That to me is PS4's best open world visually.
Horizon Forbidden West is not better than Marvel's SM2 on several objective measures including max draw distance and a noticable lack of pop-in both being noticably superior in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. This completely forgetting and dismissing the fact that MSM2 has RT reflections on everything as well. Marvel's New York feels alive. I have neve...
There are now car packs which grant access to new vehicles that can not be earned in-game.
This has been a thing for at least 2 or 3 months now in FH5.
This probably won't stop cheaters in the moment either. So far as we know this only stops unlicensed HW. Are there any officially licensed cheater HW? Will all cheatware even be blocked fully? The answer is likely yes for the former, and no for the latter.
"these companies"
Did you mean: Microsoft?
No other company is doing this yet.
I kind of do too. MS has options for those with disabilities. I haven't gone for 3rd party controllers on PS since PS2 and for Xbox 360 and PC I never used 3rd party peripherals. I tended to avoid unlicensed products on Nintendo systems as well. I'm not seeing an issue with this. I suppose its nice that other manufacturers don't block 3rd party pad support... but why do you need it?

"...the ones that come with the drive already attached [require authentication]."
[Citation needed.]
Where in the article or anywhere is this stated or even implied?
It's not a CD drive or DVD drive.
It's a BD drive and unfortunately... it is different. Even to run BD discs on my PC with an external BD drive I needed to connect it to the internet! I could run anything else no problem just not Blu-ray discs.
THAT WAS ON A PERSONAL COMPUTER POWERED BY WINDOWS 10 OS.
If the laser diode dies... you just swap out the diode. There is nothing marrying the diode to the drive or wider system. This is how most people fixed broken PS3 and PS4 BD-ROM drives, if the diode dies. If some other components inside the drive die like the image processor that analyses the light pulses received by the image sensor in the read head assembly, then you're SoL because those components are soldered to the drive mainboard and are extremely difficult to replace without damagi...

"Disc rot."
I too store my physical games in a vat of fungi and acid...
Seriously, what the f••• is "disc rot?"
I have f•••••• 3 1/4 floppy disks that still work just fine 30 years on. Never ever had a CD "rot" on me. Nor has any software storage media even lost enough data to corrupt a game (or track of music or anything) due to natural expectations of data loss due to the intrinsic flaws of various storage...

What's funny is this is how FM's AI has always been. Literally every single fanboy remark made against GT games since the very beginning of FM in 2005 was BS to pump up FM games and make GT look like crud.
This isn't hyperbole. Microsoft created Turn 10 to make Xbox's version of GT.
Like most stuff MS attempts... it just didn't work out.
Don't know why people are disagreeing, PGG definitely has the potential to be better, at the very least, PGG is making some of Microsoft's most polished games.
Gaming was always really expensive. It was never cheap even in the Nintendo days. The cheapest gaming console was probably GBA and it was powered by literally 12 year old tech when it launched. PSP pushed Nintendo to make more powerful portable HW and Switch is an extension of the fight Nintendo lost to PS in the mobile power space. Of course PS found out their mobile market wasn't big enough to justify huge budget AAA games.
Nintendo is selling $70 games on a $250 cons...
What if MS is handing down this ultimatum to Xbox? I won't say Xbox will surely be dissolved by 2027 if this benchmark isn't met.
On the other hand Xbox has been a drain on MS for more than 25 years by 2027, I can see MS saying... 'We're done losing money here.'
The thing most people are talking about is VO work being subsumed by AI. This article does cover that.
