Hooked on phonics, much? ;)
I swear, giving the "common man" access to tools is sometimes like following the growth of journalism from the _early_ days:
"PS3 selling faster than Xbox 360 in US"
Can you imagine how fast a professional outlet would have to retract that headline?
"PS3 selling faster in first four months than Xbox 360 did in the US during its first four months."
This, while longer, is accurate and leads to less uninfor...
...how scary that sounds, right?
I've really been enjoying Shadowrun. It has a really fresh, strategic take on the FPS genre.
That said, the damn thing doesn't have a single player campaign...which will really bother me _unless_ the price is right (cough $40 or less).
Not to be an ass...
"...a complete overhaul that shares few similarities with the original..."
Look, Sigma looks cool and all, but to say that it shares "few similarities" is beyond absurd reporting. This is an upgrade to Ninja Gaiden, a very good one I'm sure, but this is not Ninja Gaiden 2, and therefore there are _many_ similarities between the two titles.
I got excited by the opening comment, then realized that the game doe...
Or _maybe_ Capcom looked at the current market size of the 360 compared to the PS3, looked at the bucketloads of cash being dropped in every morning based upon the sales of their games on the 360 and decided to release it all on their own.
The conspiracy theorists on this board rival any alien abduction site on the internet.
Can anyone please justify any way it made sense for Capcom to create a PS3 exclusive game _without_ a huge subsidy from Sony?
Seriously, I just don't understand the mindset of this generation.
I had a 2600, it rocked. The NES came out, and it was bye-bye Atari.
Snes-PS1, PS2-360.
Game players have always been loyal to whatever system has the best games (except the dreamcast, but that is a whole different story).
How many 360 fans would go down with the ship if Sony took over and got all the exclusives? I'd guess not many. But there is this certain demog...
...because they made a logical business decision.
What advantage was there for _Capcom_ to stay exclusive? For some reason people on this board think 3rd parties are loyal to a console and want to help a specific publisher succeed.
Publicly traded companies, by design, must do what is in the best interest for _their_ shareholders (Fiduciary Responsibility). In the case of DMC, it is hard to deny that all those 360s out there represent a pretty big potential d...
I respect that you think MGS going multiplatform is unlikely, but the analogy isn't exactly correct.
Nintendo owns, creates and publishes Zelda.
Konami owns and creates MGS while all Sony does is publish it.
Sony or MS picking up Zelda is IMPOSSIBLE. MS or Nintendo picking up MGS, regardless of how likely you think it is, is certainly possible.
A more appropriate example would have been something like Perfect Dark on the N64 or Resi...
You really do like yourself, don't you?
Finally. I'm really glad to be able to put that PS1 disk away as well.
...of Saturn emulation on even high end computers, it would be quite the feet for the Wii to pull this one off. (It is that the Saturn was a notoriously complicated beast.
As a "Tony Hawker" die-hard since the first game, I'm actually really excited about Skate after reading this preview. After ten years of memorizing increasingly complex button mashing to the point that even I don't know what I'm really doing in each keypress anymore, I look forward to the "purity" that this game could provide.
I was going to write about how everyone should lighten up as it was just a joke...but then I thought about the situation.
Your competition actually took the time to come see your keynote and to be right in the front row. To me that shows that not only is Phil taking the time to learn about the competition, but he is really showing Nintendo some respect by coming to the keynote. In an industry full of attacks, I think it is really cool that Phil showed up to see a gaming legen...
But how can anyone say that it is "game-centric?"
Are any of you going to throw a copy of Resistance in and decide to walk your avatar over to your mini-PS3 in your virtual upstairs to click play?
Anyone? Anyone?
Home is a community that is self-contained. It has a great many number of interesting concepts built around the community, not the games.
Are the Nintendo Mii's Game-Centric? Not really, given the time many Wii ...
"*UPDATE* apparently it has been confirmed (?) that Project Offset WILL be coming to PS3. Something about their hiring a PS3 developer and looking for a 360 dev? "
Show me the source please. A credible, AAA, honest-to-God source.
...has proven itself to be rubbish over the past couple days.
Beyond that, though, does anyone here doubt that they are working on versions of Crysis for the PS3 and 360? Anyone?
"Sony has never been one to show the world what it has until it's near finished."
You mean like the PS3 at E3 2005? Or how about the Killzone CG? Anybody here enjoy the emotion engine technical demo prior to the PS2 release?
Sony has _always_ shown extremely early concept stuff to the public to reduce any hype that the competition has gained. It is a dirty trick they like to pull, and now you say they don't show anything early?
It is simple. Play NFL 2k Whatever.
Let's see:
3+ million fans purchased capcom games on the 360.
5700 idiots typed their email address in a stupid petition.
I wonder which side Capcom's accountants will side with? My bet is on the internet petition. ;)
