Editors choice on IGN: 8.9
Gamespot: 9.2.
Famitsu: 9s (whatever that means)
Given those ratings, to say that it "didn't get such high scores" seems a little harsh (See reviews for RFOM, Dead Rising, Lost Planet and a host of other games in this territory.)
...is wrong with these people? I can at least "understand" a petition to make an exclusive go multi-platform, but this petition is at the very core of what is wrong with the 14 year old fanboys.
I stopped listening after that. I hate these prices (on all of the consoles).
There is something about anonymous communication via the internet that has turned this "war" into a truly miserable online experience. I can't take reading this inflammatory rubbish, and the subsequent inane posts, anymore.
I work for a publisher, so my colleagues and I are obviously very, very passionate and opinionated about games. Somehow, however, of the 100 or so people I interact with regularly, not ONE of our conversations has turned heated. Some people like...
I apparently have some fundamental need to be upset...because I keep coming here and reading these forums. The pure lack of logic in this thread astounds me. Can you imagine a side-to-side comparison of "The 300" against "Saving Private Ryan?" Neither looks "better", they both just have different art styles. The fact that people are debating the power of a system based upon two completely different games is beyond me.
If anyone remembers the p...
The bullet interaction with the environment is top-notch. I really hope we start to see this level of detail in more games...I'm a little tired of decals.
99% of the people on this site will forget this information over the next month and the arguments will be reduced to:
"PS3 sold 11 million in year one and the 360 sold 10 million units! Ha!"
A few smart people will try and point out that both numbers were "shipped", and that the logic of 11 millions vs 10 million doesn't add up. These people will be ignored.
Enjoy this time of enlightenment when people still have logic and a m...
Whether you like it or not, console sales are _very_ important to publishers. The goal is to maximize profits for a game, therefore decisions need to be made regarding exclusivity...and thus EVERY consumer should care on some level.
In an ideal world, every game would be released on every platform and take full advantage of each piece of hardware. This is not an ideal world.
The console with the most sales, the best growth rate, and the cheapest and most portab...
You mean like you and elementary grammar?
Please, could we stick to places that are real and not create geographic phantoms just to make a point. You seem nice and all, but you'd think that you'd have picked up by now that the world is made up of the US and Japan...and it is flat...and there are monsters in the ocean that devour whole vessels...and we have a geocentric galaxy.
Sigh.
Yet for some reason you only list PS3 titles and one multiplatform game, despite closing with a "..on all 3 systems..." attempt to make it look like there is no bias. How about a Wii game if you truly feel a level of equality? 360 maybe?
It would seem that if your point was ACTUALLY to list great games on all systems, you would have done so.
"Developers see the ED-Ram as more of a hassle than anything."
No we don't. Period.
"360 has 3 cores right?
PS3 has a CEll processor thats equal to 8/7?"
I swear, I keep trying to come back to this site, but the same crap that has been going on for a year still gets spewed with the same frequency...no one actually takes the time to _learn_ if it doesn't fit your agena.
That statement is absurd. Start with a CS/EE degree, make sure you take a class in distributed systems, get a job in the industry, spend 60 seconds with both SDK...
I have the game too.
Is this what argument has reduced itself to on this site?
E3 is NOTHING like it was before. Many 3rd party publishers are just not showing up (literally, not showing up).
I think that the next "push" will be at Sony's and Microsoft's respective shows...assuming developers can reach the deadlines...
"we all know that CELL can talk to other CELLs and organise work... so everytime someone logs on to the network the "network" becomes more powerful thus computing more calculations"
no. Again, there is virtually no latency in the Cell or any other architecture...gigahertz means billions of instructions every second. Billions. So take the time it takes to compute the data necessary for output, add the time it takes to traverse a network (KILObytes per seco...
No, no I didn't. But thanks for telling me what I thought. ;)
...have so many bubbles? Can I give up some of mine in exchange for them taking some of yours away.
And I really hope you aren't talking about Crackdown...one of the best games I have played. While it needs a little more single player content (i.e. bosses and a narrative), the control mechanics and open-world gameplay are an absolute joy.
...when only a few people could approve stories? There was this wonderful month or so after the site redesign when only a few had permission to approve stories, and thus we had quality and accurate information.
A brand new rumor about something is interesting. The official verification or debunking of a rumor is interesting. Some dude without a source talking about rumors that have been around for months or dissecting rumors about rumors is not interesting.
