Agreed. Heck, people will simp over anything that’s technically female. OG Chica from FNAF 1 is an example. Not my thing, but hey, I won’t judge others for their taste.

The what showcase?

Well, duh, if it has MGS3.

This actually seems to be one of the more generous reviews. I’ve been seeing a lot of 1s and 2s, so this game must be horrendous. In any case, I’m thoroughly dissuaded from checking this out.

Number 6 is a reason Nintendo had a fire under their butt, but in and of itself is not a reason why the Switch succeeded. I do agree with most of the points in this article otherwise though. It’s a versatile system that’s affordable, has some worthwhile exclusives, and is great for indie games.

If Xbox doesn’t manage to miss this open net, they score a point, and I’ll happily acknowledge that. Unfortunately for them, they’re still 20 points behind in the game, so them winning this showcase face-off won’t change their position. I’m glad the Sony vs MS show soap is still going post-E3, but realistically speaking, it’s just drama.

Hot take here, but I’m not going in with the mindset that Sony “needs” to reveal this or that, because I’m sure whatever they reveal is going to be awesome.

Don’t worry, they haven’t given up on ruining Xbox.

Today Brazil, soon, the world.

Lower specs than the base PS5, focus on the motion control fad of the previous generation, and an attempt at DRM that most certainly didn’t catch on? No, it was very much behind its time.

Maybe, but I can respect a game that’s focused on what it wants to be rather than getting bogged down with trying to please everyone. There are plenty of other great co-op games if that’s what you’re looking for. Insomniac clearly wants to focus on creating the best singleplayer experience possible.

Trying to push DRM on people when the competition wasn’t certainly didn’t help. Backpedaling was the best decision, but then there was a whole year where the system cost an extra $100USD over the PS4 because it had to have Kinect as a pack-in. Once all that BS was out of the way, it was still well behind the PS4 in terms of exclusives. Also, the original XB1 was weaker than the original PS4 hardware-wise. Of course the XB1 had a hard time early on.

Man, Xbox is screwed regarding the future of Japanese IPs on the platform. Given how poorly it does in Japan, its viability as a platform for Japanese games rests quite heavily on the overseas market, though with more Japanese games coming to other systems, people who prefer those types of games are more likely to gravitate towards those other systems instead, even internationally.

Of course, the big name publishers are the most likely to be able to release their games o...

They’ll send Phil to annoy them. Don’t worry, not only is SE not for sale, but Japan has protections in place that would prevent a foreign company like MS from acquiring them. The best MS can do is what they’re doing now: initiate talks to try and improve relations with the company. The key word here is “try”.

Nice! That’s a loophole I could see them trying to exploit, so good on the CMA for closing it.

1129d ago 17 agree1 disagreeView comment

All this to try and successfully convince one regulatory body to convince another to look over its decision once more, with the high likelihood of the CMA just deciding to stick with its decision anyways?

Also, threatening the UK is very unlikely to convince them to want to do either MS or Activision
a solid, so it makes no sense to me why they chose that approach. Being smarmy bastards probably wouldn’t have worked either, but the odds of success would have still...

No, but if they used their plethora of studios and deep pockets to produce great games at at least a comparable rate to PlayStation, I guarantee Xbox’s sales and general reception would at the very least be much closer to that of the other guys.

If anything, Sony built off of the success of the 360 by taking notes on what made it do so well and adopting some strategies accordingly. It’s funny hearing some of the things that Xbox fans are complaining about Sony doing, such as securing timed-exclusivity of some games/content or exclusive content in games, when that was exactly what MS was doing in the 360 era. Why are those practices suddenly problematic to them now that it’s Sony who’s employing them?

Of course, t...

At this point, I just want Castlevania to come back period, but yes, a souls like would be kind of a neat spin on the formula.
