I miss those games. Wario Land was a fun mashup of platforming and puzzle elements that made backtracking actually fun and engaging.
Writing on walls is what people who don’t have games to play are doing, because they need to amuse themselves with other activities, I guess.
Part of the problem too is they also have a lengthy history of changing up their media format, which makes physical BC impossible in most cases. They changed their cart format up until the N64, then went with mini discs, then did proper discs (it’s worth noting that Wii is only BC with GameCube, for obvious reasons), and now they have SD-style carts.
On the handheld front, Nintendo was much better at BC, having full BC up until the GBA. Then, the DS and 3DS shook up the...
That's why I started going digital with Nintendo first party games, aside from the ones I get as new releases. I'm stubborn enough to save up enough Nintendo Coins exclusively for Nintendo first party titles, so I can pay what I deem an acceptable price for an older game, or just opt for a phenomenal price for a new one (getting Tears of the Kingdom for $28CAD was pretty great IMHO). Good thing I'm the habitual purchaser of third party titles I can backlog for eternity, and the ...
I didn’t even realize that was a thing. Then again I barely use social media as it is, let alone need my PlayStation to access it.
Being in the top three week-after-week is poor sales? By that logic the vast majority of devs should quit while they’re ahead.
I don’t recall these articles ever linking to a poll or forum thread either, to show the basis for these claims. For all we know, they either decided they don’t like something and made up that a bunch of fans are outraged about it, or maybe one buddy said something, and that buddy somehow represents all gamers to them.
Regardless, in journalism in any other field, links to sources and info on methodology would need to be provided to prove credibility, so I’m not sure why g...
Just a troll who can’t handle MS taking third place yet again with 2023 exclusives, with their supposed “GotG” not getting the reception it was expected to. Nothing to see here.
And he’s absolutely correct. Two great games from the top two console manufacturers. Congrats to both Nintendo and Sony/Insomniac!
Two awesome games from the two top console manufacturers! Congrats to both, though extra congrats to Sony and Insomniac for hitting that number one spot in the week a new mainline Mario title released.
Congrats Sony and Insomniac!
I would argue that it’s not a character’s status that makes them relatable. It’s quality writing. I do like that these characters provide somewhat of an allegory for overworked working-class people who sometimes struggle to make time for everything that’s important in their life, but it wouldn’t matter if they were written in such a way that they were unlikeable. Different characters have different appeal, but base archetype is only a part of the recipe for a good character, at least for m...
Nice touch. I'm really looking forward to playing this, and I'll definitely check out that Easter Egg when I do.
Nice! I need to get this soon!
I don’t believe a perfect, flawless game exists. I rarely consider games a 10, but Spider-Man 1 is a game I added to that exclusive list. For me, there are games that resonate on such a deep level that, yeah, if push came to shove, I could identify things about them that aren’t my favourite, but I don’t care, because all the great things about said games so overwhelmingly outweigh any minor criticisms I can think of to the point that they’re really just a footnote.
This...
Mobile is the thing to revive interest in your console? I think your box is already irrelevant if that’s actually what you think.
I never understood the logic of that form of protest. If anything, it increases fossil fuel consumption by forcing a lot of vehicles to idle until the road is no longer blocked. I’m all for protesting a cause one believes in, but I would think people would want their form of protest to at least make sense.
I credit this game for introducing me to Nine Man’s Morris.
It’s not new, I don’t think, as I recall the PS3 having something like that. It never should have gone away though, so I’m glad it’s back.
I actually don’t mind simpler, largely indie titles on the platform that can run just fine on the Switch due to them not being very hardware-intensive, and some retro compilations are pretty great on Switch too. Anything where concessions have to be made, or I can expect the visuals or frame rate to take a hit though, and I’m out, since I have other systems that can run those games better.
