Huh? By what metric, and what evidence is there to suggest that? Sales of the PS5 have been strong in spite of the alleged “game of the generation” not being available in it. Software sales don’t appear to have dropped off either. What financial pinch are they supposedly experiencing as a result of missing out on Starfield? How does unsupported and nonsensical fanboy drivel like this get approved?

It means a slow news day, because neither will be out anytime soon, and will likely be very different systems by the time they’re out of the planning stages and into production.

For a fun statistic, apparently the Switch port of MK8 has sold more than 4X what the Wii U console sold.

Since when do you need to be a boomer to appreciate retro classics?

Sony is laughing all the way to the bank either way, as they produce the Spider-Man films, including the Spiderverse ones.

But yeah, dumb article.

It’s unlikely they will exit the industry, but rather, pull a SEGA, go third party and exit the console manufacturing game.

Unfortunately, I don’t realistically think that will stop MS from doing further damage to the industry. Sure, their stuff will likely make its way to PlayStation in that scenario, but they’re unlikely to stop trying to force the industry into a digital-only subscription model, and will also likely continue buying stuff up to make that happen. Xbox ...

Personally, any mainline Zelda game, major or minor, consistently captures my time like few others series can. A Link to the Past and subsequent games of the 3D variety tend to be main course offerings, whereas I see the handheld offerings as more like a side salad, but all of the above are amazing enough that I certainly enjoy that side salad more than some main courses in other franchises. I suppose that's a compliment to the series, as few are nearly as consistent, even in the best o...

Awesome, I love these games! I wish they were still available for purchase outside of a subscription, but that's all the more reason to be thankful to have them on my 3DS.

Gotta love the prospect of an all-digital future. /s

Starfield fans are so bored with launch content that they developed time travel…and then wasted such technology going only slightly back in time to tell us that the 900 lifeless planets are boring as heck? Well, whatever advances science, I suppose.

Not as much marketing? Tears of the Kingdom has basically been in our faces recently, whereas I probably wouldn’t have known about the new Pikmin had I not seen it in the eShop new releases, or visited game news sites like this one.

So you can pickpocket then. Ok. In other news, games journalists can use semantics in real-time to make anything sound like something unprecedented. Maybe it is for Bethesda though.

Sorry for the late response, I’ve been busy living my life, because I have one of those. By the way, zip lines are a lot of fun. They’re not for everyone, but for those they are for, they’re a pretty good time.😊

Ok, SF will be upper moderate in terms of success, but still no Spider-Man. You seem confused because my response has always been that Xbox doesn’t have a Spider-Man competitor. I’ve changed nothing. If you misinterpreted my original response then fair ...

I’ve explicitly spelled out what I’ve been saying to you, but I’ll do you a favour and put it succinctly. If that doesn’t work, I don’t know what else to try.

Anyways, in summation, I do think Starfield and the games you listed will have moderate success, and will appeal to their respective niches, but I also think you picked a pretty terrible list of games in response to my point that MS doesn’t appear to have anything lined up that will compare to Spider-Man 2, and I als...

"Because every game needs to be as as popular like Spiderman across TV, movies, toys, merchandise and games in order to be successful. If it can't live up to that, its an absolute failure right?" I guess I'll start with your second question. If you had bothered to read either of my previous posts, you would know full-well that that is not what I said at all, and in fact, the tone of my posts have been quite the opposite. No, a game does not need to pull Spider-Man numbers...

@Lightning77 No, you’re the one changing the argument, as MIDGET clearly said, in no uncertain terms, “ If Xbox didn’t buy Zenimax 2 years ago, then we’d be waiting until 2024 for them to compete with Spidey.” That means, they’re referring to games that can be in the same ballpark as Spider-Man 2 in terms of success, and I for one don’t think any of the games you listed are going to be one of those games. They will appeal to their niches, but that’s it.

I also don’t have ...

@Lightning77 None of which will have anywhere near the impact that Spider-Man 2 will, and next year or soon thereafter, those games will be KOed by Wolverine when Insomniac comes back with punch #2.

Starfield really is the closest thing Xbox may have to making a big impact, and I’m skeptical it will make the mark the hype train promises. To be fair, it likely wasn’t meant to be more than just a decent space-themed WRPG, but MS and the games media is promising the moon, s...

We might still be waiting that long or likely longer. I’m expecting Starfield to be alright, but not the monumental, generation-defining game it’s being hyped up to be.

There has been a stark difference between them every gen, at least since late into the 360’s lifecycle. MS just decided to double down on being a cancer lately rather than attempting to find a cure.

At least we can rest assured we won’t end up with a Skynet situation anytime soon. Keeping AI dumb is the way to go IMHO.
