Neat. I wonder if we will see some of them on the Evercade in the near future?
There’s a dub joke in there somewhere, but I can’t come up with one better than that headline.
I think this should be the standard for all older media with content that may be deemed controversial by a modern audience. A warning or foreword is sufficient, and does not result in content being changed or censored.
The bad press is because it’s Sony’s service, and not MS’s, as the cringe games media seems to love everything MS does, and have a special disdain for everything Sony does. Obviously unbiased sources are difficult to come by these days, but Sony manages to stay on top regardless.
We have no such law in Canada either. It’s clearly a nonsensical American thing, and must really suck for anyone who wins a prize in the US.
You realize each game has always tried to differentiate itself from its predecessors, right? Sure, games in the NES/SNES era were a lot more similar to one another due to limitations, but even those games tried new things with each entry. Even when the job class system returned in FFV, the devs took steps to differentiate it from FFIII’s job class system.
When you get into the PS1 era and beyond, the games kept getting more and more different from one another. If you l...
Wait till E3…to be resurrected so MS can tell people to wait for it. I think if Redfall were delayed till then though, MS and Bethesda would still find a way to mess something up.
I came here to say the same thing. That devs and publishers now have to specify that their game doesn’t have MTs and doesn’t require Internet to play speaks volumes about the current state of the industry.
I especially hate when some modern games don’t even allow people to play locally with the people they’re with. Online play can be great fun and all, but it’s not a replacement for the social experience of playing together with others in the same room.
Arcades wanted you to keep putting money in their machines, console devs/publishers wanted it to take long enough to complete their game that you would most likely have to buy it, at a time when actual playtime couldn’t be that long. In both cases, the best solution was to make things difficult enough that you wouldn’t likely complete a game in one sitting.
Of course they will be. As much as I loved E3 at its height, it hasn’t been that in years. Game announcements will happen with or without it, and now companies have the freedom to host their own events, where they can make announcements on their own timing. It’s the end of an era, for sure, but the industry will be fine without E3.
To where? The stands? The parking lot? They’ve moved the goalposts so far back I don’t think there’s much field space at all in this stadium left for them to move back to.
“ its the two screens that screws them over.”
That’s why I thought up the ideas in my second paragraph, good sir, and I should also add that handheld or tabletop mode may have to be a requirement where touch controls are necessary. Sure, none would be perfect or as comfortable as playing on an actual dual-screen device, but if PC could awkwardly emulate such games, a legal emulator could be made for a console like the 3DS.
Personally, I think the two b...
There is a toxic subset of the Nintendo fandom who will treat anyone like dirt if they so much as insinuate that something Nintendo is doing is less than perfect. PlayStation fans are, on average, more able to acknowledge Sony's faults and shortcomings, and understand the concept that it's possible to be a fan of something and still be critical of it when it comes to things that are less than ideal. You can tell which fandom I prefer.
Also, points to Sony for ta...
TBH, I think it's possible to port over DS and 3DS games with some imagination and creativity, though I doubt it's the kind of thing Nintendo would think of. Fully emulating Wii U without modifications is likely near impossible, aside from one expensive solution I can think of involving two Switches relaying to one another, hence Nintendo's solution of just releasing modified ports (also they can be sold at full price, and make Nintendo more money that way anyways).

Wow, that’s the majority of Roblox’s user base.
Nice! I'm glad the PS4 is still getting support.
Nothing we don’t already know. MS doesn’t care though as long as they can get that extra boost in sales from those looming for a cheap extra console. Hopefully devs use that as a cue to make the PS5 the lead platform for multiplats, so any problems that arise from this decision on MS’s part will be contained to the Xbox ecosystem.
Hmmmm…it still doesn’t really feel like he’s the MC though, so much as being along for the ride. It really isn’t his story, as his involvement doesn’t really have much bearing on it.
