Congrats to Fallout 3! I'm glad MGS4 won best score and best graphics, since it was my personal GOTY.

Consumers just... confuse me. We "hardcore" gamers want to see fun, artful, exciting games continue to be made. But when push comes to shove... well... the PS2 edition of 50 Cent outsold the COMBINED sales of Okami on 2 systems. And now Wii Play, and Mario Kart Wii, which is arguably the worst in the franchise, and a major step down from the DS edition, light up the charts.

I just don't get this "save the PS3" mentality that every exclusive gets saddled with when it comes to the media. THEY create this criteria that each game has to be judged on some god high level of making the PS3 instantly sell 10 million units and light up the sales charts for 20 months on end... and when it doesn't happen, they bash the title for it...
They are also responsible for shunning 99% of their original fans. Thanks Nintendo.

Personally, I feel it's too pricey for too much useless junk. If it has the OST or a very nice art book with concept work/models/renders/etc like GTA IV, I'd be more inclined to check it out.

There is room for all kinds of games, and all kinds of gamers. Games are meant for FUN.
MY issue with the situation is when devs take a property inherently not meant for a certain demographic, for instance casuals, and tries to water it down to placate the masses. I feel that hurts the strength of the title. For instance, I feel the new Prince of Persia is a game attempting to pull in more casual gamers, and as a result, lacks the clever rooms/puzzle designs of the Sands of Time ...
His ONLY valid point is the installs. The animation, voice acting, gameplay, and score were all top notch. Big Boss was not shown as a whiner, but someone with REGRET for all he had done in his life, and he sought a reconciliation with his son.
If you're going to whine about MGS4, at least bring up valid points please.
It's an insult to consumers and FF fans everywhere to hold back the western release of FFXIII until a PORT is done. The porting is fine, as more gamers can enjoy the title... but to make gamers and loyal FF fans wait even LONGER is a sham. ESPECIALLY considering Square goes on and on about how the "west is important" and that "multiplatform" is their new strategy.

Sure, seeing what a game sells is interesting. But the problem is, people take it and twist it to support their agendas, be them fanboy or blogger or biased journalist. They use the data to SPITE and INSULT not only developers and games/consoles, but also fellow GAMERS, who enjoy this hobby. Instead of seeing it as the industry thriving and our HOBBY surviving, it's "har har ur gamz sux." True gamers are a rare breed these days I feel....

Professional journalists do not let talkback sections influence their writing. If he gets this worked up about some talkbackers, then he isn't qualified to be writing crap. There is ALWAYS going to be a vocal group of fanboys online for ANY system or game. I don't see them complaining about all the Xbox fanboys now do we?
