The problem is games are often being stripped of components that should be included already. I mean, someone tell me why I should need to buy a Time Attack Mode 3 days after the game hits?
As I said, DLC is a great theory, but all too often many companies abuse it.
Honestly... how is this news? The guy mentions the prices of the 3 systems in a few paragraphs and... that's it.
N4G's posting requirements suck donkey anus.
The DLC craze should not be blamed on any one company. Sadly, while DLC is great in theory, only a very few companies get it right I feel. Criterion, with their amazing support of Burnout, followed by paid DLC after proving they will support their title, is a shining example of what is right. Rock Band is straddling the edge. I feel the songs are overpriced, but great to have. Tales of Vesperia and Dead Space are proof of what is wrong with this system, paying to unlock things that are on the...
Epic are the king of the bullshot.
Frankly because, as much as people want to deny it, to the general gaming populace, graphics really do come first. One reason that Gears of War is acknowledged for being the "inventor" of the stop and pop gameplay of Kill.Switch and Winback.
Thankfully, Killzone also has the gameplay to back it up. I expect a solid playing and amazing looking shooter. Will it grip me for a year as CoD4 did? We'll see, but I have high hopes!
You're a whiny hypocrite.
I have to laugh at anyone who brings up sales as the sole indicator of quality. Enjoy playing your sales data, real gamers play games.
I don't see why Halo and KZ2 are being compared. Different styles of gameplay, different focus, different consoles. Halo is fun to pick up and play, but I hardly consider it the end all be all of FPS. I certainly respect what it did for console FPS, and I LOVE the recording feature in Halo 3, but overall the series doesn't do it for me. I despise the muzzle drift when you shoot, especially in such an "arcadey" styled shooter. My personal all time faves are still GE007, Perfect Dark ...
Yup, which is sad because it's actually a solid system with good games. But man, there is NO excuse for this. I mean, this is what, the third revision? Did we even KNOW the names of SNES or Genesis "chipset revisions?"
I miss the days of consoles being measured by bits....
A great console with amazing first party exclusives, a solid online service and BluRay?
Yeah, I'd love to see it, as long as its well priced. Going from MGS5 to Gears of War 3 to Uncharted 3 would be boss.
A lot of people are complaining about the controls, especially because of the kickassness of Dead Space.
It's not a matter of not knowing. I purchased my PS3 long before any exclusive DLC was announced. Again, I'm a Fallout fan who purchased a PS3 because it suited my gaming needs. The 360 did not. So why should I be DENIED the DLC available to other Fallout fans?
Update - Sure, but what of single console owners? Why should they be denied if they have access to the game? It makes it feel "incomplete" and is, I feel, a snub to fans.
You're clearly a fanboy, but let me try to explain this. Most people buy the system that suites them best. For me, it was a PS3. Why? Because it has the titles I wanted as exclusives, such as MGS4 and Uncharted, but also has titles that all console owners can enjoy such as Fallout 3.
Why should I buy a 360 for a multiplatform title available to me, spending an EXTRA $200, when the game is already on the PS3? As I said, this is not like exclusive titles, which DO factor in to con...
I'm not "mad" at anyone, just disappointed. Like I said, I can understand exclusive titles, as that makes systems worth owning. But if everyone, regardless of the console they bought it on, is a fan of GTA or Fallout, why should they be denied bonus content? It's spitting in the face of fans and frankly I hope this trend ends here and now.
You realize this "hard edged" movie is going to be PG-13 to get as many of the teens into the theatre, right? PG-13ing ruined Die Hard, ruined AvP, and is sure to ruin this. But no one should have any hopes anyways as Len Wisemen is directing. Blah.
Please don't insult LotR ever again by comparing this game's "story" to one of the greatest works of all time. KTHNXBAI.
Once again, I think exclusive DLC on a multiplatform release is a kick to the nuts of fans of any franchise in question. You're basically saying "you're money isn't good enough even though you were kind enough to support us, get lost."
Sad, sad trend here.
I played Phoenix Wright. I must be an ace attorney now!
This just in! Hot news! Global recession! Also, sky blue! More at 5!
You should know by now that "game journalism" is a joke of a business with almost no integrity. Gotta get those advertising revenue hits somehow, don't they?
Game "Journalists" live in Biased Land. A land where they senselessly bash and mock everything that they don't prefer with spite and stupidity instead of presenting things to readers objectively. Their actual "news" content covers such "hot topics" like FUD, doom and gloom, Top 10 Lists, and the ever popular "sales data" story. It's a pity that these biased fanboys have to suffer such things as a free Halo 3 swag bag for the troubles of their "inde...
Can't wait. I think the art direction is very strong, even though technically it may not compared with the likes of KZ2 and Alan Wake.
