I'd like to thank Bethesda for snubbing their fans. I bought Oblivion and every expansion. I bought Fallout 3. I supported their games. Yet they will not support their fans. This "exclusive DLC" trend is spitting in the face of the fanbase, and it's pathetic.
No, they don't. Not in their current form, and that is for two reasons outside of the obvious bias -
1) People don't use reviews to inform themselves any more. They use review scores to spitefully JUDGE titles they have never played, or use scores as fodder or facts for their fanboy wars. Scores have become more important than the actual review itself to many readers, who want a quick answer. These opinions then become fact, and sadly can condemn a title like Banjo Nuts & Bo...
Gotcha. I just don't like it when gamers are tricked by the media into tossing about terms like flop instead of actually... well... thinking for themselves.
So the PS3 is a "failure" if it doesn't sell more than the 360?
That means both the 360 and PS3 are failures since they will never catch the Wii.
This race mentality is silly. As long as games are being made, and the system is selling, how is it a failure?
*yawn*
ANALysts bore me. Play games, not sales numbers.
Scoring has never made sense, ever. That's why people should READ THE REVIEW.
Maybe that beta test doesn't look so bad for the future, eh Cliffy?
This just in... Halo movie to be Great Expectations... with aliens!
No. Just no. Gears has shallow and cliche characters and a mundane plot. Gears is about the action, the events, the thrill ride, NOT the characters. Gears is the equivalent of a kickass summer popcorn movie like Transformers. Good action, iffy humor, great BluRay showpiece.
Do NOT insult LOTR by comparing the two, it only shows how little you know. Oh it's Destructoid... LOL.
It's true. Every PS3 game is reviewed with the criteria of changing gaming as we know it while walking on water and doing your taxes.
Halo doesn't interest me enough. Mass Effect, L4D, Gears, Alan Wake... and honestly more than likely Gears 2,Fable 2, and Mass Effect 2 as well.
I love Live and the controller, but I really have no need for one. Most of the big titles I can get on the PC, and I still have a huge backlog of PS2 titles to finish. It would just be a waste for me, but I hope you enjoy yours!
As I said, the concept of "year of ______" was made to get web hits.
This game will be slammed for "lack of innovation." I'm sorry, but I was expecting a solid and fun title, not the holy grail. Is that so bad? But nope, everything has to be a "revolution" these days.
*sigh*
The shallow and cliche characters of the games should make for awesome summer movie fare. But will it be any good is the question?
I stand corrected. However, my point still stands. Is Gears the ONLY game you intend on playing on your system? Of course not. Of course there are titles that will be "tipping" points or make you say "yeah it's time, this is awesome" but I have yet to see a system exist on a single game alone. I should have specified, that's my bad.
No, but why should they? Are you allowed to buy only one title? Uncharted might do nothing for someone, but the prospect of Uncharted, AND MGS4, AND GT5 might. That's why we all have different tastes and opinions on what we enjoy.
I've never seen someone buy a console for a SINGLE game alone.
I think this logic of a "system seller" is a myth. It doesn't exist in the manner in which the media presents it to be. These analysts seem to think a single title on any console will drive sales for months to come despite a busy release schedule and ever growing libraries. Consumers are always poised to get the "next big thing" so I don't feel this longevity exists. I mean, have we ever seen an NPD title this gen exist as the number 1 or 2 seller for more than a month, tw...
What I want to know is... if this DLC DOES have the much touted diversity in gameplay and options... why was none of that design sense placed into the highly repetitive and stifled GTA4 itself?
It would be nice if Square Enix started following its own doctrine of multiplatform support and releasing more of their RPGs on the PS3. I for one would like to check out Star Ocean 4. Yet I guess to Square Enix, having a "western focus" means "riding MS's proverbial tool," which is unfortunate. Don't tell me you believe in multiplatform development, which is awesome for gamers everywhere, and then not support said stance. It makes you hypocrites.
