I better go grab some numbers, throw some dire words in like sinking, doomed, struggling, tanking or dead, and apply it to the 360 in comparison to the Wii. Because that's all it seems to take to make "news" these days.

Game looks cool. Just hope it does indeed have co-op since yes, I am getting Infamous.
Why are we allowing "news" that is nothing more than rampant speculation by twisting a few quotes?
-We know nothing of MGS5.
-We don't know WHAT changes are being made at Kojima Productions.
-Only a fool wouldn't realize that MGS4 was already "westernized" by the help of Ryan Payton. Controls, gameplay focus, etc.

To allow ones own preferences to interfere with something that more often than not is claimed to be an "objective look" at a game is... frankly, stupid.
By your argument, I would be totally valid in comparing every game under the sun this generation to Ocarina of Time, and scoring everything from Halo 3 to MGS4 below a 5.0 and saying it is trash because "I prefer Ocarina's gameplay." An extreme case, yes, but valid.

I think the Xbox 360 is a solid system. It has a strong lineup of titles, and Xbox Live is great, though I dislike that it's a pay service. However, I'm simply astounded at the fact that consumers give MS a free pass when it comes to hardware reliability. It took THREE YEARS for MS to FIX the problem with the "Jasper Board," or so we are to believe thus far. I think its silly to make such a good point Xi, which I disagree with however, and then say "the Wii is in a league of its own." It's almost contradictory. It's that very mentality that I think sinks credibility with review sites, and also negates ANY need or purpose for scores, since so much about that statement is heavily subjective.

The gaming media IS biased. It doesn't have to be against a particular system, but it's the truth. We all have preconceived notions on titles, and humans are inherently biased creatures. Professional review sites lack ethics and journalistic integrity. Most of all, they lack consistency. People should use reviews as what they are, no more than biased opinions. Anyone using them as facts is just doing themselves a disservice and missing out on titles they may love.

Obviously, I think I speak for many gamers when I say that I'm sick of the PS3 doom and gloom articles. But do we really need "anti-doom" articles being spammed as well? Why not just let the games speak for themselves? It's NO secret the media is biased. The next step isn't to call them out on it, but rather to do something about it. Stop letting their opinions control YOUR hobby people.
