Name one ps3 that had great sales at launch.
... Metal Gear Solid 4.
Wow, that was hard. Get lost trollboy.
I sold my Wii. I was sad. It just didn't have any games that interested me enough to keep it.
I'll save myself, and you, the trouble. The game media is a biased joke of a business run by fanboys, nothing new there. Nowadays however, it's gotten worse with the advent of the casual blogger. People create webpages with the pure intent of FUD or spiting out spiteful remarks under the guise of "criticism."
Now, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but one would expect a site called NEWS4Gamers to actually have some semblance of "professional" news to it. The...
I can't wait to play the amazing Xbox 360 exclusive Alan Wake... in superior form on my PC.
These "articles" are silly pissing matches people, and always biased in some manner or ill researched.
Kaz, Tretton, Shame Kim and Greenberg all need to shut the hell up.
List is fail for lack of Dante, Vergil, Solid Snake, and REVOLVER OCELOT. HELLO? He played EVERYONE. Beat that.
Their decision is obvious. They are riding MS's proverbial tool. I can't fault them, it's smart business, as sales are strong on the console. But it's their hypocrisy that gets to me. Do NOT lie to me and tell me in one interview that you are all about multiplatform development, and then in the next question say Star Ocean 4 is an exclusive. Just don't. Gamers aren't stupid.
Kaim, I hope that is true. All I'm saying is, in my personal experience, porting isn't all that easy or quick. If FFXIII is indeed such a large title as to warrant YEARS of development, I have to wonder what happens if, as I'm proposing, the porting runs longer than the localization. I mean, if they expect a QUICKER turn around time for localization, but also want to port it... I don't see those two time tables aligning, even with separate teams. If they can port it to the 360 in 2 - 4 months...
That's nice. But this has nothing to do with fanboyism. As I said before, I'm fine with a port. What I cannot stand is how SE is treating its fans, regardless of console. This game has been in development limbo forever, and the secret theatre crap is just that, crap.
Yes, FFXIII is "on schedule" since a release date was never given. So it wasn't "delayed." However, that schedule would probably be a few months sooner if they hadn't decided to start a porting pr...
If we believe the director's statements, it is indeed the port holding things back. And I'm not surprised, considering SE has been kind to shaft their own fans as far as their "multiplatform" strategy is concerned. No date for Last Remnant, no confirmation on Star Ocean... and yet Square Enix is all about multiplatform development?
Rubbish. As an FF fan, I'm rather pissed off.
Please no DLC. This is the exact crap I wanted to avoid. No, I don't want to spend $4.99 to get Ultimate Weapons Pack #2, or Joke Weapons Pack #4. If they offer hidden dungeons, they can F off. Square is trying my patience this gen as an FF fan.
Late doesn't begin to describe. Stupid ass CoD4 sucked away any gaming hours I had for the past year. In that time I've amassed a back catalog of over 50 PS2, PS3, GBC, PSP, Gamecube and DS games to finish.
*sigh*
My hobby has become my curse!
Don't feel bad. I JUST finished Shadow of the Colossus and Ico.
And the PS3 had the highest rated games of the year according to those same journalists... so I don't see where you're coming from. It also has the best looking game of 2008 according to many reader polls, as well as many different awarding outlets, as well as the best new IP.
The 360 didn't have a bad year by any means, but to argue it had the quality over the PS3 library of 2008 is, frankly, wrong if you go by the criteria you just set forth.
Your opinion on "gaming quality" doesn't extend to everyone else you realize?
2008 was not a "terrible year" for the 360. It wasn't a "terrible year" for anyone.
People can deny it all they want, but the biased media WILL find reasons to hate it, especially the more fanboy-centric sites like Gamedaily, Gamesradar, and Ripten. The funny part is, KZ2 will be called out on for issues heavily prevalent in high scoring titles like Gears, CoD, and Halo. I'm actually anxious to read up on what reasons they come up with. The best so far is the "incredibly linear levels that you can lose your way in." That was hilarious.
Thankfully I sto...
As I said before, hype varies from person to person. Hell, I could say for myself that GTA4 and Halo 3 didn't live up to the hype for me. Your mileage will vary. So why argue the situation? I expect KZ2 to be a gorgeous looking and solid playing FPS. I don't expect it to be some gameplay revolution, nor should it need to be to be an amazing experience.
Also, enough with the Halo killer crap. The term was concocted by the media to sell magazines and get web hits. No game can "...
Don't listen to Gamestop employees. I used to work there. 9/10 people are either uneducated or fanboys.
I agree. People automatically equate the success of one system to the failing of another, and anything positive said about one must mean that the other is being bashed. People need to get over this fallacy.
The tagline doesn't help things however, as you should know by now very few people actually READ the N4G news sources, but still feel the need to comment.
Also, I think it's silly how the media brushes 2008 under the rug super fast and already gets people hyped on...
Jealous? No. But I DO find it to be a disturbing trend that spits in the face of fans. For example, I am a fan of GTA and Fallout. After awaiting the arrival of all 3 next gen systems, I made my purchasing choice that suited my gaming needs, the PS3. I wanted titles like GTA and Fallout, but also titles like God of War and MGS4.
So I have to ask Rockstar and Bethesda... why is my money not good enough? I enjoy your titles, I support you with my hard earned money, why am I not al...
