Is this really considered news?
Did a PS3 spank your bottom as a child? I see you posting in a ton of Ps3 threads... obsessed much? Seems rather silly.
I agree.
So you play sales leads? Does that somehow make Fable 2 more fun or Gears of War 2 less glitchy? I've never understood the whole "sales" argument or the "year of" malarky. It's the year of the gamer, unless you are a silly armchair analyst, then you have bigger issues.
Oh and Megatron... You belong to me now...
Quite possible Omega. Does that mean those silly people who said the PS3 is doomed should also consider the 360 is doomed, as far as year long sales are concerned, being so close?
(No, of course I don't mean it, but it's something to think about)
Doesn't speculation bore people? I mean, let's be honest, the PS3 is here to stay. But it also needs a price cut to become more competitive. They made great strides in 2008, and if they can get that price down by summer, they will have a great year.
Thankfully, a console selling more or less doesn't affect me, because I play the games, not sales numbers.
Aren't 3 or even 4 of those going to be available on the PC as well anyways?
Uncharted is one of THE greatest games of all time. I cannot wait for the sequel.
Nathan Drake, IMHO, is THE most human character created this gen. Nathan Hale and Marcus Fenix could learn a thing or two!
The microwave scene was epic personified. The emotion, the music, the visuals... yeah, it's simple in the finger pain = the emotional pain of Snake... but that's Kojima's gift... he creates parallels that others never see. I will NEVER forget Snake's struggle.
Hype is created by the media more often than not.
In my HUMBLEST OPINION -
GTA4 didn't live up the hype overall, even though it was a solid title, it felt like a step back from GTA San Andreas.
MGS4 was NOT overrated, I felt it wrapped up the series finely, and I felt... well.. I felt happy when all was said and done. MGO has balance issues, and I dislike the Konami ID stuff, but many people love it, so who am I to complain?
I hear ya Baka. I liked the plot as well, and characters... but I miss the whole "once the game is done, goof off" aspect of the title. I thought the variety of the missions also suffered. It's not a bad game by any means, but I just felt it coulda been so much more after playing San Andreas.
All I wish for 2009 is this...
Titles like Alan Wake, Infamous, Dark Riders and more are hits, both critically and commercially.
Honestly, in my OPINION, I was most disappointed with GTA4. It was such a technical leap forward, and I love how Rockstar added Trophies... but the actual game itself was far more sparse and more repetitive than San Andreas. It's not a bad game by any means, and online can be fun if you aren't trying to be competitive, but I feel like it's a step back in the GTA franchise itself. Niko rocks, true, but I expected more.
Damn the PS2. I have over 80 titles for it, and 30 left to finish. Truly is one of the greatest systems of all time, up there with the SNES!
The media thrives on bad news. This is nothing new. I don't understand the preoccupation with the desire to see something fail? I mean, it's just a toy. You're telling me it upsets you that someone else gets enjoyment out of it?
Well my reason is this. I wasn't a fan of R2 co-op. I wanted to be able to do the story itself with a friend. I replayed R1 at least 5 - 6 times with my buddy, harder and harder difficulties. R2? I struggled to get through once, because it just bored me. I miss the weapon wheel a bunch as well. The 60 player skirmish doesn't do it for me, since it degrades to "run here, then there." There's very little skill involved. The graphics are indeed better, yes, but it feels like its missin...
Clearly MY PSP rocks YOUR SNES because I have a SNES ON my PSP.
Beat that!
I agree with your preferences comment. But to be honest, Resistance 2 AND Gears 2 let me down for different reasons. Both are solid games, but I really think R1 was better than R2, and I really think Gears 2 blew it with online competitive in its sequel. Then again, I'm very picky about my online gaming, and it's been hard to pull me away from CoD4!
It was the year of the gamer. Great games came out for both systems. Why does it have to be one or the another? Is it even possible to quantify since reviews are opinions and personal taste matters most?
There "articles" are just silly. Enjoy games!
This is considered news? Another opinion piece? Does this kind of fluff make some people feel better? Do they need their own opinions validated by crap posted on the internet? I really feel bad for those kinds of gamers.
